First! Ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Carmichael:

Hi Ho Fabio, giants, background singers and funky bass players.
  3:05pm Tony:

Appropriately, as Mr Giant Man was playing, I noticed this at the top of the NYT homepage: "You don’t keep a failure résumé? Maybe it’s time to start."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm crateslinger:

It's raining bells.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I don't care what Andy Breckman presents as the greatest song intros ever. Mr. Giant Man does it best!
Avatar 3:06pm Chris from DC:

Failure of this work day to ever end
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm Michael 98145:

" * "
  3:10pm John from Florham Park:

Hey my fellow WFMU listeners do people here use Spotify to create playlists from listening to this station
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm tim from champaign:

This song only gets 1 colon? It's definitely of 4-5 colon caliber.
  3:10pm smoochie poo:

knock knock
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Carmichael:

Failure of the stream on my iPhone app. Been happening all morning.
  3:11pm John from Florham Park:

@smootchie poo who is there
Avatar 3:11pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

@John-No.
@Smoochie Poo-Who's there?
  3:12pm John from Florham Park:

Gotcha Neil just wondering if anyone else does it that’s all
Avatar 3:12pm Bas NL:

I love anything by Jim Haynes. Hello Fabio & friends!
  3:13pm John from Florham Park:

Hello bas
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm ifny:

@John from Florham Pk: I make playlists on YouTube sometimes (and have Adblockplus and Ublockorigin adblockers installed). I don't use Spotify personally.
  3:14pm chresti:

Hello from final jury duty day in DT LA
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm ifny:

(or impersonally for that matter)
Avatar 3:14pm Bas NL:

Hi John! I'm not a Spotify user.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm ifny:

Oh chresti, happy day!
  3:15pm Brendan:

Oh Bartender! Down here. I’ll have a high colonic.
  3:15pm John from Florham Park:

Ok ifny was just courious
Avatar 3:15pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

people things.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm ifny:

Which end does a high colonic go in? Asking for a friend.
  3:16pm John from Florham Park:

Ok bas thanks
  3:18pm brainiac:

Or you can be your own DJ. Right now I'm playing
Simon McCorry - Invocation I over this track and it's epic!
Avatar 3:18pm Chris from DC:

Seconding Bas on Jim Haynes
Avatar 3:19pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

HAH. Haven't spun this one in a hippie's age. Goofy as hell in parts, but Tempel is Tempel.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm Michael 98145:

  3:23pm annabella:

Listening to your great show Fabio here in Bristol uk
Avatar 3:24pm Bas NL:

Woefully overlooked by me.. Ash Ra Temple. Tis great this!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm coelacanth∅:

greetings Fabio & all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm crateslinger:

JfHP - I use spotify all the time. Tons of WFMU finds on there. I don't do playlists much tho. Just listen to something and then let the algorithms take over.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm Peapod Ross:

beautiful
Avatar 3:28pm Blues Mandinga:

Anybody out there?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm steveo:

@blues depends -- do you believe in infinite universes?
Avatar 3:30pm Chris from DC:

There's some Ilitch I need to catch up on. Digging.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm crateslinger:

Couple times I forgot I went down a spotify hole after looking up something I hear on WFMU and while spotify is still playing I'll post something on the comments board that doesn't make any sense. Nobody knows but it's still embarrassing,
Avatar 3:31pm Bas NL:

I used to listen to Live365. After a couple of months the number of recommended stations had reduced from hundreds to just one.. WFMU. No kidding. (WFMU used to broadcast on Live365.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm crateslinger:

So if I ever post something completely idiotic - that's why.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm steveo:

@crates i've done the same thing but from the drummer stream....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm steveo:

but people are used to me sounding like an idiot, so it's ok
  3:34pm brainiac:

@crates Plausible. Now I need to make up a good excuse.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Peapod Ross:

@crateslinger - if it makes you feel any better, one time I was so, uh, on acorns, that I thought a band I liked was busking somewhere in the subway. I tried for a minute to find them but it was just my headphones.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm crateslinger:

Haha - Steveo, me too. One time I thought Irwin was playing Taylor Swift which is not outside the realm of possibility.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm coelacanth∅:

John (fFP) i use snotify. i never have and probabaly never will let them do the computations though. i started using it when i determined that my bedroom floor is too wobbly for playing records, and i like listening to whole albums; then when my saved songs/albums got to an unmanageable level i started making playlists to get some of the saved songs off the queue.
now i have several dozen playlists, including at least 10-12 just for falling asleep to.
Avatar 3:37pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

loverly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm crateslinger:

@peapod - that's amazing. Was it the pan flute guy on the F train?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm coelacanth∅:

...some people on wfmu comments boards don't like the mention of spotify; even though lots of folks mention youboob -which is worse, in my opinion, for several reasons. djs even play songs off youboob. i'd be desperate to do that. spotify sounds better + doesn't support gobble.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm steveo:

haha even fabio might be playing taylor swift (if clay is on)
  3:38pm wfmu listener phillip:

my therapist miss jennifer hates me! what do i do
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Michael 98145:

this station -does- leave me stranded on bandcampsites, however
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm Peapod Ross:

@crateslinger lol no but probably only because I never bought his cd. It was that rad horn band from Chicago that used to play at 14th street sometimes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm steveo:

that reminds me, peapod, the headphones you gave me finally broke :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm The Oscar:

I played one of Timothy Leary's video games once! It was a sort of "choose your own adventure" text adventure that begins with your character being born as an infant. I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever played in high school, though I'm not sure it was meant to be.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm Peapod Ross:

@steveo.... no way. Those were top o' the line. Did you spill coffee on them steveo...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm steveo:

they were great, it's true. a wire came loose inside somewhere which i could not find
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm The Oscar:

Update: You can play it online! www.myabandonware.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Peapod Ross:

well, luckily I didn't pay for them. Tekserve did.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Peapod Ross:

I did not steal them I worked there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm coelacanth∅:

i have 3 pairs of headphones, and the ones that my family gave me for xmas around 44 years ago so they wouldn't have to hear my music anymore are still the best. i have to fiddle with the wire on the left side sometimes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Carmichael:

I still use my big fat Koss headphones from the late 70s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm crateslinger:

@coelacanth - that's funny but sweet. My family just kicked me out!
  3:49pm Leery:

I heard T.Leary speak about Cryogenics & his desire to to be preserved after his death.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm coelacanth∅:

Carm pro/4aaa ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm steveo:

i listened to them for probably 3000 hours; maybe Tekserve got their money's worth
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm coelacanth∅:

c slinger haha! sorry. i was too young to be legally kicked out!
Avatar 3:52pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

very dig.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm Peapod Ross:

That's pretty good milage, steveo
Avatar 3:54pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

@Coelacanth-what headphones, the old ones, what brand and make and model?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm coelacanth∅:

yeh 3000 hours seems like a good run to me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm coelacanth∅:

koss pro/4aaa, WN
  3:58pm Brendan:

I like this . Not a big fan of 1000000 notes per second
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm coelacanth∅:

proxy.duckduckgo.com...
Avatar 4:00pm Bas NL:

Beyer Dynamics DT990 headphones. 6-8 hours a day. (My avatar is the DT770's i had before)
  4:01pm Brendan:

@coel, Nice cans
Avatar 4:01pm TDK60:

Fabio, can only jump in for a bit here. But Guitar Vol. 4 is a fave.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm coelacanth∅:

i fairly rarely use headphones though. i prefer loudspeakers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm tim from champaign:

Starfuckers were a 90s favorite for me. So good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Peapod Ross:

@coelacanth - those are awesome
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Carmichael:

@coal, yep those are the ones.
  4:15pm brainiac:

Tom Thayer; good ol' number 57. Go Bears.
  4:15pm Brendan:

Music boxes give me the heebie jeebies . Especially when they are slightly fucked up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm Carmichael:

Ha Ha, it's probably the same guy ....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm Kat in Chicago:

LOL I thought the name Tom Thayer sounded familiar!
Avatar 4:28pm TDK60:

"Rain" bent my mind too.
  4:31pm brainiac:

His good friend Steve McMicheal liked to make fun of him on TV for being gay on WBBM-TV...
the good old days.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm tim from champaign:

Did Thayer have a rap on the Super Bowl Shuffle?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm tim from champaign:

Harold and Maude - the first Wes Anderson film.
Avatar 4:44pm Chris from DC:

Heard this Louca piece earlier in the week, amazing.
  4:49pm Brendan:

The Third Man was great. Loved the cinematography. Graham Greene all over it.
  4:50pm brainiac:

wowowOwowow
Avatar 4:52pm Chris from DC:

The Third Man also has an amazing soundtrack, if that wasn't already mentioned.
Avatar 4:53pm Fredericks:

Edward Vesala? Haven't heard that name in a long time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm Michael 98145:

General Strike !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04pm common:

The music is living! Hello.
Avatar 5:12pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Spent most of this show in meetings. Please do and say everything over again, in proper sequence. Thanking you in advance...
  5:14pm Martinibomb:

Hi Fabio. Long time listener just sayin' hello. And I'm a fellow Dj over in Sheena's Jungle Room stream.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm Michael 98145:

@M, are any of the programs archived ??
  5:16pm Martinibomb:

Yes, all the Sheena's Jungle Room shows are archived.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21pm Michael 98145:

:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:23pm tim from champaign:

I hope the Starving Weirdos remain hungry and not normal.
  5:26pm brainiac:

They're my upstairs neighbors. Sometimes I'll leave a sandwich outside my door and in the morning it's gone
  5:29pm Brendan:

Thats how you can tell they’re true artists.
  5:37pm Brendan:

This sounds like a Model K2000-a w/ Flubulator in Wobble mode.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Thanks, Fabio. A lovely collection of notes today.
  5:58pm Martinibomb:

Thanks for a loverly show today!
  5:58pm brainiac:

"Quality work. And there are simply too many notes, that's all. Just cut a few and it'll be perfect."
