Hi David and listeners!
Avatar 3:12pm david w:

Dear doctor I have a Nate Wooley set today that will delight you, I'm guessing.
Avatar 3:13pm northguineahills:

darn, missed this show live. Good substitute.

Avatar 3:14pm david w:

Welcome geez and steveo!
Avatar 3:14pm still b/p:

Some days, it's just one head after another.
Avatar 3:15pm fred:

My losing streak when it comes to gigs continues into 2019: I'll miss Maria Chavez tomorrow (first time she plays here)
Avatar 3:16pm geezerette:

S B/P, heh!
Avatar 3:16pm david w:

Yes still b/p, the Drummer stream is 100% heads and 200% hearts.
Avatar 3:17pm david w:

Wow, Fred. Chavez is always on the road, surprised she hasn't crossed your path before.
Avatar 3:22pm fred:

Paris isn't a good place for shows, many tours don't stop there because of a lack of mid-size venues, and of small ones that do pay enough to make it worth coming
Avatar 3:22pm Sem:

Hello, David, Ruth, the Ridgewood on-the-bus gang, and all, east-coasters, west coasters, roller-coasters, no matter.
Avatar 3:23pm david w:

Rosenfeld announced theisshow as "generating a composition from an animated video projection-as-score" but I wasn't there so I can't explain.
Avatar 3:25pm david w:

Hi there, Sem and your UKoasters all.
Avatar 3:26pm david w:

@Fred; you know that has been the problem in Paris since I was touring through the 90s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm doctorjazz:

I'm fairly predictable .. Looking forward to it!
Avatar 3:29pm david w:

djazz you embrace a lot of stuff, but I think I've learned what gets you jumping.
Avatar 3:32pm northguineahills:

First time I saw Maria Chavez was on a roof overlooking McCarren Park (above Matchless). Everything had to go up a vertical ladder through a small slit in the roof. Talibam! also played. It was a challenge getting all of the equipment of the musicians up and down , but, we managed.
Avatar 3:36pm fred:

@David: Did you ever stop at Instants Chavirés? I think they opened in the early 90s (though they were, and stil are, in Montreuil)
Avatar 3:38pm northguineahills:

Don't worry, no one can pronounce my two syllable Scottish/English last name, and it's the same as a famous astronomer who predicted the orbit of a comet.
Avatar 3:38pm david w:

Gee, Fred, I don't remember that place, though some of my tours with Elliott Sharp were so whirlwind I never knew where I was.
Avatar 3:46pm still b/p:

Never saw the full Jason and Argonauts. When I was about 8, long before references to the film, to Ray, to the mythology would become more familiar, I recall being subjected to an enthusiastic friend's long, long-ass telling of the whole movie story.
Kids still do that?
Avatar 3:48pm northguineahills:

Heck, people in NYC pronounce my first name different then down South...………………..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm chresti:

still b/p- yes because they've watched it a million times
Avatar 3:48pm david w:

Since Harryhausen's pre-computer animations have so much charm (and terror!) I imagine kids are still tuned in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm chresti:

That happens to me too, ngh
Avatar 3:49pm northguineahills:

@stillp b/p: I've seen the original and the via MST3K.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm Doctorjazz:

This IS cool!
Avatar 3:52pm still b/p:

Even eager tedious adults who toss spoilers and scene descriptions don't seem to do that kid thing of trying to relate everything from first to final frame. Though maybe that will be valued and welcome around the post-Apocalypse campfire.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Stanley:

Hi David and listeners. Loving this.
Avatar 3:54pm david w:

Love back at you, Stanley.
Avatar 3:55pm northguineahills:

Last weekend, I listened to a telling of Jason and the Golden Fleece on a podcast, oddly enough.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm Jeff Golick:

@David: have you heard/seen Wooley's Seven Storey Mtn project? So beautiful and strange.
Avatar 3:57pm david w:

I do not know that Wooley piece, Jeff. Is it released or something new touring... ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Jeff Golick:

It's an ongoing concern: natewooley.com...

Some versions have been released: natewooley.bandcamp.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm chresti:

I have a co-worker who would describe Breaking Bad episodes in detail.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm Jeff Golick:

(Also, it will not surprise you to learn that I have played one version before: wfmu.org...)
Avatar 4:06pm geezerette:

Loving Nate Wooley.
Avatar 4:06pm david w:

Thanks, Jeff I will indulge.
Avatar 4:08pm david w:

Love the loving...
Avatar 4:11pm geezerette:

Avatar 4:13pm david w:

Also, I confess to violating the episode explaining restriction at times, but usually to a willing audience.
Avatar 4:15pm Sem:

Enjoying the Nate Wooley ride plenty.
Avatar 4:17pm geezerette:

Sem, :D
Avatar 4:20pm fred:

I love Joe McPhee. He always makes everyone around him better.
And he can pull off showing up with his own name on his jacket and not look ridiculous
Avatar 4:20pm Sem:

Hiya, G-ette. All good there?
Avatar 4:21pm geezerette:

Yes indeed. You? :)
Avatar 4:23pm geezerette:

...what Fred said. (Hi Fred!)
Avatar 4:23pm Sem:

Oh sure, winter wonderland on the North Atlantic. If it wasn't for the smoked salmon, I'd move west...
Avatar 4:31pm geezerette:

Ha, today we're having liquid snow. What a luxury; the sycamores shine like copper and our street is a shallow creek with leaf-boats in lazy regatta.
Avatar 4:32pm fred:

The first time I saw McPhee play with Chris Corsano, Corsano was playing shy and far too respectful. So at a point McPhee pulled a chair and sat, making a show of inspecting his saxophone. That worked, short and long term; I've seen that duo twice since and there was no need for that
Avatar 4:33pm northguineahills:

I love Joe McPhee!
Avatar 4:35pm Sem:

Avatar 4:39pm northguineahills:

I saw Joe McPhee w/ David Ware (RIP) at the Pink Pony. I think Joe played 8 different instruments that night....
Avatar 4:44pm northguineahills:

Wow, potatoes last forever, I have 11 month old potatoes I'm using for soup that were still good in my fridge (and 15 month old frozen corn).
Avatar 4:45pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

ngh Ooh now I want to try my old potato
Avatar 4:46pm david w:

Ruth says Williams Sonoma sells a faux root cellar device with stacking boxes and burlap. FYI.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm chresti:

Enjoying the rain event while it lasts@geezerette
Avatar 4:55pm david w:

Rain, shine, or potatoes... thanks everybody!
Avatar 4:56pm Sem:

Mind-engrossing and expanding, as usual---for me, anyway---thank you, DW, and Ridgewoodians. Thank you for doing this for all of us.
Avatar 4:56pm northguineahills:

Thanks David, perfect sounds to cook my caldo de pollo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm chresti:

We've got potatoes in every nook and cranny of the kitchen.
Thanks David!

Avatar 4:57pm fred:

Thanks David
Avatar 4:58pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
