Love that country yodeling!
  7:11pm JakeGould:

Any particular reason for the focus on classic country-based stuff like this today! NOT COMPLAINING!!!
Avatar 7:12pm Dan Bodah:

@Jake, just felt like it's sort of the audio equivalent of comfort food and needed on a cold rainy November night
  7:14pm The Butterman:

Who's next? Rosco Holcomb?
  7:16pm JakeGould:

This is all very good.
Avatar 7:18pm ranjit:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm dale:

  7:38pm Bob O:

Taking yodeling requests? Doc Watson?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm chresti:

oh no!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:41pm Gordon FM:

oh no. what's up with Jeff Sarge?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:41pm dale:

The next MGM session took place in New York, in August 1952. For this recording, no expense was spared...Carolina recorded 2 songs with the LeRoy Holmes Orchestra. "Nola" was a true showcase of her yodeling talent. It even featured a technological breakthrough, "sound-on-sound" (this was before the days of common multitracking), giving the illusion of her yodels echoing across the mountaintops.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:41pm chresti:

poor Sarge!
  7:42pm yippie:

I hope they aren't singing about poison creek Wyoming
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm dale:

....from carolinacotton.org
Avatar 7:42pm Dan Bodah:

Jeff is OK but lost his place and a lot of stuff including many records of course. Definitely a tragedy for him.
  7:42pm yippie:

and also bombaclat
Avatar 7:45pm Dan Bodah:

@dale, thanks for tracking that down!
Avatar 7:46pm Dan Bodah:

@Bob O -- I will keep that for another time since I already have more music than I can get to tonight! But thanks for the suggestion.
Avatar 7:47pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Speaks well of Gillian Welch she fits here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm chresti:

Avatar 7:48pm Dan Bodah:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm chresti:

Tuned all the way, Dan!
Avatar 7:50pm Dan Bodah:

Gotta get the Hank Williams in before 8
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm dale:

i honestly liked every song and clicky starred many, but resisted clicking all so i don't look like a suck up.
  7:52pm Bob O:

Thanks, Dan. This is a really fun theme to explore...If you ever do it again, I'd add Peter Rowan to th erequest list... ;)
