Good afternoon Scott and all

  3:05pm Kurt Vonnegut:

this is a good argument against atheism. Personally, I think it's a much better argument against foxholes.
Avatar 🎸 3:09pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Ah, there's plenty of atheist servicemembers, American & otherwise. Also: 12XU is approaching "can do no wrong" territory. Could they be our 21st-century Amphetamine Reptile?
Avatar 3:10pm Chris from DC:

Oh hey, th'Diamonds!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm Scott Williams:

Hey everyone!! Yep, this is PLU - gone real dark this time out, I didn't make this dark, Vicki did!

The Mirror is a great album, of course
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:21pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Scott and troops. Vicki will provide video material on Bryce's show this Friday.
  3:22pm McGreivey:

Peter Duchin: nice. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Avatar 🎸 3:22pm Bas NL:

I got to give The Mirror another spin.. he, he, it's in battle with swag-joy.

Yerevan checking in to say hello. Always listening on mobile, but seldom checking in to show appreciation for magnificent sets, such as this)))
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm Carmichael:

This is the James Taylor goof. The John Denver and Joe Cocker bits are also hilarious.
Avatar 3:32pm Chris from DC:

Looks like Bryce is appointment radio this week.

Scott: that was a highly fulfilling set.
  3:41pm SeanG:

first song i remember hearing on FMU was a Faun Fables song in a hotel near ground zero March 2002
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm fred:

I'm considering taking Friday off to watch this
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm listener james from westwood:

The absolute first memory I have of a specific song on FMU that wasn't a DJ's in/out theme was Sandy Bull's Orff track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm listener james from westwood:

I take that back. Shortly after Sammy Davis Jr. died, Bronwyn C. played "Got a Lot of Living to Do," then came on mike to to say, "That was Sammy Davis Jr. GET IT??" I later learned that was FMU.
Avatar 🎸 3:48pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

First thing I recall hearing on FMU was the back-announce recording Tony Coulter used (mid-90s?) .. road sounds, sparse traffic. For some reason this was the perfect thing for his mic-breaks.
Avatar 🎸 3:48pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

disclaimer: i could be remembering that completely wrong. Brain is very old.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Carmichael:

You can still hear Tony on Tuesdays over at the Drummer stream. Still using that Holger Toy theme song, too.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:57pm Ike:

I saw A.T. Kuffner's Gamelatron on Governors Island this weekend. That was cool. Recommended.
Avatar 3:57pm Parq:

The very first specific memory I have of FMU is Irwin signing off his show and giving the station number, inviting listeners to call him and talk dirty to him (although he worded it more elegantly than that).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Carmichael:

Stashu might enjoy this song.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:02pm steveo:

@ike thanks for the heads up; the 4 heads art fair is a must see every september for me, but haven't been out there yet this year
Avatar 🎸 4:02pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:04pm Ike:

@Steveo, first time I've seen this 4 Heads fair. Lots of great stuff. I'll have to remember next Sept.

Avatar 4:17pm Fox:

WHoah, for a second I thought this was the Toto score to Lynch's Dune.
Avatar 🎸 4:17pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

WHOA. Grex!
Avatar 🎸 4:17pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

that's a double-whoa.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Scott Williams:

Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:22pm steveo:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm northguineahills:

I thought it was EAR, I have this 10"!
Avatar 🎸 4:26pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Top-shelf segue from Mal & Luma, as well.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:27pm steveo:

hm I see that the Grex track lists a "slenthem" which "is a Javanese metallophone which makes up part of a gamelan orchestra." COINCIDENCE?????
Avatar 4:45pm Cecile:

Gotta put something from "At Long Last Love" on there.
Avatar 4:46pm Cecile:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm fred:

Damn, The Necks are playing at my favorite venue next month but I already have a ticket for another show that day
  4:50pm Cooh John:

The Necks is my current obsession. And Ohio likes chilies.
Avatar 🎸 4:51pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Crap. Missed my big chance to ask WHAT'S THE NECKS THING YOU GONNA PLAY? I'll be over here, sobbing in the dark.

Avatar 🎸 5:13pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

After the Necks, a set of all body-part band names could be possible, no? You've got EAR up there already... uh, Heart? Toe Fat? Eye? Viscera? Aorta? .. Perhaps not.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm fred:

@Scott: I remember a band called Ex-Models. I think one of them later joined Oneida
Avatar 🎸 5:14pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Also: belated appreciation for playing TOAD last time. Love that LP, it's been on the search list for ages.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm fred:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm Scott Williams:

TOE FAT! look up their covers, y'all....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm fred:

Did Toe Fat cover Foot Village?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21pm Scott Williams:
