this is a good argument against atheism. Personally, I think it's a much better argument against foxholes.

Ah, there's plenty of atheist servicemembers, American & otherwise. Also: 12XU is approaching "can do no wrong" territory. Could they be our 21st-century Amphetamine Reptile?

Scott: that was a highly fulfilling set.

first song i remember hearing on FMU was a Faun Fables song in a hotel near ground zero March 2002
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm

I'm considering taking Friday off to watch this
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm
listener james from westwood:

The absolute first memory I have of a specific song on FMU that wasn't a DJ's in/out theme was Sandy Bull's Orff track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm
listener james from westwood:

I take that back. Shortly after Sammy Davis Jr. died, Bronwyn C. played "Got a Lot of Living to Do," then came on mike to to say, "That was Sammy Davis Jr. GET IT??" I later learned that was FMU.
Avatar 👻 3:48pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

First thing I recall hearing on FMU was the back-announce recording Tony Coulter used (mid-90s?) .. road sounds, sparse traffic. For some reason this was the perfect thing for his mic-breaks.
Avatar 👻 3:48pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

disclaimer: i could be remembering that completely wrong. Brain is very old.
Avatar 3:50pm

You can still hear Tony on Tuesdays over at the Drummer stream. Still using that Holger Toy theme song, too.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 3:57pm

I saw A.T. Kuffner's Gamelatron on Governors Island this weekend. That was cool. Recommended.
Avatar 3:57pm

The very first specific memory I have of FMU is Irwin signing off his show and giving the station number, inviting listeners to call him and talk dirty to him (although he worded it more elegantly than that).
Avatar 3:58pm

Stashu might enjoy this song.
