Loving this ambient set. Laraaji is performing tonight in Brooklyn at National Sawdust.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18am Scraps h’m (h’mmm):

i’m worried about the size of the hearts here. they’re going to burst, first one, and then all of them almost at once: pop, pop, pop-pop-pop-pop-pppppPPPPPOP!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18am Dave in Vermont:

Gotta go run on the treadmill. Metaphor for life, I'm afraid.
Avatar 6:43am Brian in UK:

Hello Jeffrey and listeners.
In the Seventies BOAC has an advert for their flights called Earthshrinkers, prescient I think. One year later they became British Airways.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44am annie:

well, i have to share the news with someone: my son's best friend just welcomed a new child: piper jane..... a long labor, and she is well.. the name just blows me away.. both 'rents are in for the ride of their lives.. ... carry on, now, i'm done..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46am Bas NL:

Good Spring tidings @Annie!

Avatar 6:52am TDK60:

Welcome to Piper Jane. Never heard of the name Piper before, I think, but I'm sleepwalking across my bedroom.
Avatar 6:53am Brian in UK:

Nice one annie. Piper Laurie is the only other like name I can remember.
  6:54am AmyB:

Good April Fool's Eve everyone! Loving the Joanna Brouk track ... solo flute is so lovely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54am annie:

i looked this up, and there is no dearth of stories with this title, but i dreamed i would wrote a story and the holy mother entitled "the maiden's journey"; would love to know the backstory to the title of this piece.. .. yes piper is such a wonderful name.

I had an operation for a 'lazy' eye when I was five. Since then hospitals do not scare me. Now the rest of the body/brain has gone lazy.
Avatar 7:03am Brian in UK:

All those Sannyasins running around in orange..
  7:05am cl@m digger:

Good morning Jeff thanks for trucking through and making it in today
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06am annie:

it's an enlightening series, for sure. my sympathies go to sheela; seems that she was steamrolled. but, that's just my take. i lived in oregon at the time this was going on and i definitely echewed commune-type places due to previous exposure to The Farm.
Avatar 7:06am TDK60:

I heard something about those ashram folks being insensitive to the locals. // Sorry to hear you're not feeling well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09am annie:

yeah, according to the doc, the representation of the devotees was far from positive. so much for peace, love, and understanding... good morning spamoni, hiding in the back on the bench!!
Avatar 7:10am TDK60:

I knew communal folks from round West Virginia but they weren't cultish at all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14am annie:

yep, up in ny where i we lived, there was a branch of the Farm people there. i knew many of them and i liked them alot. they had broken off from the "homeland" so to speak. i wonder if being in a group like that defins how you worship spirit later in your life. the people i know are now devout christians
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20am Scraps h’m (h’mmm):

I don’t know if you can point firmly the causality arrow one way or the other. Maybe those people are wired to look for spirituality....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24am Jeffrey Davison:

Hey Brian in UK, cl@m digger, TDK60.AmyB. My medicine this morning: music, coffee.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25am annie:

oh, possibly so... yes. i think we all search for that in our lives..
Avatar 7:26am TDK60:

Most of the hippies I knew were more secular. Some were into Baba Ram Das. Others more lefty, involved in food co-ops, activism, the music scene, arts.
Avatar 7:27am Brian in UK:

Jeffrey hope you feel better soon, must be bad to miss live music.
Avatar 7:29am spamoni:

Good morning Jeffrey and all. Annie congrats from the bench, love the name
  7:31am Mark R.:

For various reasons, I haven't caught your show in a long time, and I'd forgotten how great it is. And seriously, has Tompkins Square ever released an album that wasn't beautiful?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33am Jeffrey Davison:

Brian in UK: yup. spamoni: h'lo there. Mark R: I don't think so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34am annie:

yeah, TDK, that was my camp and pretty much still is, spiritual leanings go towards quakerism and buddhism. and i'm a rabid environmentalist.
Avatar 7:37am TDK60:

Annie: We need more rabid eco folks! // Something about an acoustic guitar on a Saturday morning.
  7:37am Buena Vista Projects:

Love it when I'm up early enough to catch this show. Ear opening.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45am Jeffrey Davison:

Buena Vista Projects: I'm glad when you're up early too... :)
  7:54am Mark R.:

Wow, haven't heard this Dylan song in ages. He's so prolific, I think some of his albums get forgotten about. "Empire Burlesque" was really good--thanks for the reminder, Jeffrey.
Avatar 7:59am TDK60:

Bob D. has so many albums, I never heard this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00am annie:

i just saved the search page on youtube for it to play later..that's the dylan voice i love
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03am Bas NL:

I've seen Machinefabriek live many times. Always a treat.
Avatar 8:13am Brian in UK:

Was it Pentangle that sang 'Once I Had a Sweetheart and Now I Have None'?'
Avatar 8:18am TDK60:

UK Brian, yes it was on their 3rd album. Basket of Light, 1969.
  8:46am Peter L:
