Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19am Stanley:

Avatar 6:33am TDK60:

Morning planeteers..
  6:35am Cooh John:

Good morning Jeffrey and fellow listeners. How is the planet this morning?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:45am Jeffrey Davison:

And good morning Stanley, adrian990, TDK60, Cooh John. I'm okay, not sure about the planet!!
Avatar 6:48am TDK60:

Will go to march of youth in NYC today, for sanity in an insane nation.
  7:00am upstate sean:

You go, Jeff
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03am annie:

good morning, had to feed the two dogs and 1 cat..i'm here and ready for tunes.pot that up jeffrey i forgot to bring my headphones.
Avatar 7:03am TDK60:

Missed that Rabelais. Looks interesting, arcane.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21am Jeffrey Davison:

hey upstate sean, annie. by the way, the march today is "March For Our Lives", happening in 800 locations. marchforourlives.com
They're even marching all over the world to try and keep Americans from shooting each other. Build bridges, not walls, peeps.
  7:23am Luke:

Pat Metheny coming soon?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24am annie:

i was going to get all sarcastic and warn the black community to NOT march for their lives because it would mis-read by polica as a mob... such disparity, so unbalanced..
Avatar 7:28am TDK60:

Yes annie. I saw footage of people outraged over that killing of a young black man in Sacramento, in his own yard. It can only be called an execution. Here in NYC I betcha black youth will be out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33am Brian in UK:

Hello Jeffrey and folk hipsters. Grey and wet in this neighbourhood. No killings so far, just lame politicians.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34am annie:

i hope they are and i hope they are not singled out.. it's just outrageous...... and this austin bomber kid, treated as if he were a poor confused white boy. i really hope this disparity is not invisible and people start asking questions of our "authorities"and demanding action. yes, brian, they are lame as hell. ok, i'm all done..
Avatar 7:37am TDK60:

Hello to our out-of-USA friends. // Annie: the Austin cops had a news conference. They said they couldn't find any terrorist connections to the bomber. Excuse me, his *acts* were! This is the Big American Contradiction. White denial.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39am Brian in UK:

TDK60 That is even more cause for concern then surely.
Avatar 7:41am TDK60:

Brian, were are you in UK? Just like geography (shh...don't tell any Americans, hee.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45am Brian in UK:

I live in Watford about 20+ miles north west of London. We are hoping to move in about three weeks time to Shropshire by Wenlock Edge, not far from Telford where the first Ironbridge was built by Abraham Darby. Without whom there would be no skyscapers etc.
You want an easy answer.
Avatar 7:47am TDK60:

Above and beyond Brian. Thanks. / Thanks too to the person who's at work here spinning the platters for us, our DJ Jeffrey.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48am Mr. Pumpy:

Good morning Jeffrey and all Shrunken Planeteers!
  7:48am Lixiviated Life:

This is the age we live in.
What happened to us?
When did we become this?
Avatar 7:51am Sem:

@Lixiviated Life: I think devolution is a thing and is being encouraged actively.

Good day @BIUK. Good to hear you have a firm moving date at last.
Avatar 7:52am TDK60:

Always enjoy hearing another release from Constellation, up in Montreal.
Avatar 7:53am duke:

@Lixiviated Life Hasn't this always been the case? We have just seemed to being stepping on the accelerates a bit more.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53am Brian in UK:

@Lixivated Life what has changed, man had been fighting each other since time began.

Sem it is the most definate maybe so far. Only heard late yesterday. To be confirmed, Wed 11th April so I am still hopeful for a meetup.
Avatar 7:54am spamoni:

Good morning Jeffrey and all.I guess I'm about to upset a lot of folks here. I carry a concealed weapon,i'm old, weak and dying of cancer but gee i don't have the urge to just go out and kill someone who's innocent and unsuspecting! It's still people who kill NOT guns!
Avatar 7:55am Sem:

Likewise, Brian.
Avatar 7:56am TDK60:

Well, originally the right to a gun was I suspect meant to be just a rifle to ward off the British (hee) or poisonous snakes or rabid dogs. But, do we need machine guns? I mean really!!
Avatar 7:57am spamoni:

TDK60 i totally agree
Avatar 7:59am TDK60:

And spamoni, sorry to hear about your cancer and trials there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59am Brian in UK:

I am going to sound naive here but the Second Amendment of 1791 was written in a different age to now. It seems like it is a comfort blanket that the gun club of america cling on to justify their existence.
Avatar 8:00am duke:

@spamoni hang in there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02am Brian in UK:

spamoni I hope our thoughts are of some help.
Avatar 8:02am TDK60:

Brian, yep. And we can't forget the history of genocide against the North American Natives. That frontier/gun culture still with us. Luckily some Natives are still here to help us learn how to live here on Turtle Island.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:04am Brian in UK:

Just read The Trial of Henry Kissinger by Christopher Hitchins. Forgotten how much I hate Kissinger.
Avatar 8:04am TDK60:

And back to the music. Wonderful today Jeffrey. Bill Frisell is a continual wonder.
Avatar 8:05am Linda Lee:

kissinger ~ that lovable old troll ~ :-l
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05am Brian in UK:

"Simply magnificent in every way" That's you Jeffrey.
Avatar 8:05am Linda Lee:

Avatar 8:05am TDK60:

Mornin' Linda, up in the Mountains.
Avatar 8:06am Linda Lee:

hi TDK60! lovely morning here too! hope it's the same by you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06am annie:

anyone remember the call from the right to allow foreign-born to be VP? aahh they were the goodle days.. it was a movement designed to allow Henry the second in command
Avatar 8:07am Linda Lee:

we sure do love our war criminals in these here parts.
Avatar 8:07am Sem:

Just reading David Yaffe's RECKLESS DAUGHTER, his biography of Joni Mitchell. A most excellent read, insightful especially about the music and the experiences which inform it.
Avatar 8:07am duke:

Henry as VP? Shudder
Avatar 8:08am Linda Lee:

well honestly ~ he's held so much power he might as well sit up front.
Avatar 8:08am Sem:

Foreign born? Try extraplanetary.
Avatar 8:09am Linda Lee:

just can't imagine why all the old monsters just keep living.
Avatar 8:09am duke:

Can Lizard People become presidents?
Avatar 8:09am Linda Lee:

can & do ~
Avatar 8:10am Sem:

Can and have, @duke.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10am Brian in UK:

Sorry for opening this can of worms. It turns my stomach to think that he may lie in state in the same place as Rosa Parks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10am Gavin Maitland:

Morning Jeff, morning all from Bristol, UK
Avatar 8:10am Linda Lee:

wait a while, did kissinger croak?
Avatar 8:11am TDK60:

Gotta read that Joni bio. I've been listening to her since her debut! Recently listened to her early LPs and only just now dawned on me: she started out great: no freshman or sophomoric rekkids.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11am Brian in UK:

In my dreams.
Avatar 8:11am Linda Lee:

Avatar 8:12am TDK60:

Gavin, I plan to visit your city later this year.
  8:12am Lixiviated Life:

Linda Lee. The monsters live because we feed them.
With our blood.
Avatar 8:12am Sem:

@TDK: a point Mr. Yaffe makes repeatedly.
Avatar 8:14am Linda Lee:

they must have an organic capability to filter toxins then.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15am Brian in UK:

Some singers appear almost fully formed. I had difficulty with the high pitch of her early voice but later I felt that she grew into her voice.
  8:15am pellegrino.steve:

wait....is it Monday already?
Avatar 8:15am Linda Lee:

agree Brian!
Avatar 8:17am TDK60:

Out to the streets. See you all. Thanks, DJ Jeffrey.
Avatar 8:24am Linda Lee:

have a fine day TDK60!
  8:25am choggie:

  8:26am choggie:

  8:27am choggie:

Thanks anyway, keep up the good werk DJ weirdo!!
Avatar 8:28am Linda Lee:

music on FMU does generally suck for somebody. that's why we love it. :-D
Avatar 8:31am Linda Lee:

not exactly the hit parade :-D
  8:34am pellegrino.steve:

would be so amazing and shocking if next song was like Chicago or something.
  8:35am upstate sean:

Play Stairway! :)
Avatar 8:37am duke:

Suckiness is in the ear of the behearer
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40am annie:

@duke: har!!
Avatar 8:41am Sem:

A teachable moment about dependent arising. Thx, @duke.
Avatar 8:45am Linda Lee:

'behearer' :-D yep!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47am annie:

i've been occupied with catching up on my scrabble moves, just wanted to come over here and say tons of thanks to jeffrey for another great show! this is the best day of the week for me...
Avatar 8:47am Linda Lee:

@annie ~ aren't Saturdays the greatest!
Avatar 8:50am Linda Lee:

especially early in the day when Jeffrey is on air! perfect.
Avatar 8:51am spamoni:

Hey Annie,I'm still in search of that elusive kitty
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52am annie:

there are few shows i MUST here in real time, this is one of them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52am WillCrete:

Really digging that bowed string accompaniment in that Josh Pearson song. They build out space and texture so beautifully. Looks like they were arranged by Warren Ellis of the Dirty Three and the Band Seeds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53am queems:

@annie i feel the same way about bob brainen. i water my plants to him ever saturday morning
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54am queems:

watering my plants any other day of the week isn't the same
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54am annie:

hey spamoni, i know you'll find one.. spring is here and lots of mama cats out there... and oops i spelled [hear] wrong
... what a great habit, queems, i make my breakfast to his show..
Avatar 8:54am Linda Lee:

i'll always love a feminine reading of a man's love song. this is a great one.
Avatar 8:54am Sem:

Thanks once again, Jeffrey, for this salon you host Saturday morning's. I miss it during Market season, and while the archives are fine for the the music you so carefully choose for us, it's the comment board's free-ranging discussions in real time that is the gilt upon the lily. See you, and all, again next time.
Avatar 8:56am Linda Lee:

hear hear Sem!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57am Brian in UK:

Thanks Jeffrey and a good weekend everyone.
