Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40pm Ike:

Disappointing trolling job. "Bang and clang repetitive noise" sure ain't no "slowed down echo of two dumpsters crashing into each other for 15 minutes."

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm cklequ:

I'm so proud of myself when you play something i not only recognize, but actually own. You dee-jays have trained me well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54pm Steve B._Parsippany_NJ:

joe mulligan, et al...don't troll this old guy--I saw Hendrix, Mountain, Alice Cooper, Jethro Tull, The Small Faces (Ron Wood), Glass Harp (Phil Keaggy), Blood Sweat & Tears, and a lot of others all live! Music Music Music...even saw Hatebreed & Lamb of God a few years ago in NYC...no clang and bang even there!!! ha! ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm Daniel Blumin:

cklequ, if it's on tape, I just saw that someone's trying to sell it fer over $200 bucks on discogs! I think I'll hold on to mine...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm Daniel Blumin:

JakeG, the key is in slowing it down!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58pm Daniel Blumin:

Steve B! No trolling hier! Glad to have you listening to the clang and bang with them ears that have heard the Hendrix and the Tull live!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59pm cklequ:

I've got the rekkid.
$200 seems a little steep for a cassette. Especially considering you can still buy the vinyl for under 20 bucks.
Avatar 11:03pm JakeGould:

@DanielBlumin: That’s what she said!
Avatar 11:04pm coelacanth∅:

well Steve, i wish i'd seen all of them (Hendrix is my main) i'm envious... and i appreciate melody, rhythm, harmony and lyrics; but i also appreciate "noise"...and i appreciate that not everyone will appreciate that.
...i just don't understand why you feel the need to speak out against sound that others like. (as i've witnessed you doing many times on Olivia's show) it's an adventurous station. there are lots of shows on fmu that i want no part of. i therefor do have no part of them.
Avatar 11:04pm TDK60:

I've heard there may have been some humans who thought Hendrix somewhat shocking, noisy, from beyond.
Avatar 11:04pm JakeGould:

Sometimes I list things on eBay that I am on the fence about selling but set a crazy price just so I can have the listing there. And if someone with extra $$$ wants to pay a stupid price, I will gladly take their stupid money.
Avatar 11:08pm coelacanth∅:

TDK so true. my mother was one of them.
  11:08pm rw:

Dude, I'm getting the Wunderschnapps t-shirt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm Steve B._Parsippany_NJ:

Daniel Blumin...thanks! It stinks getting old, but I wouldn't trade my memories of some great bands for anything!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm Listener Howard and the Cats:

GSY!BE did open for Labradford at Mercury Lounge! Two nights in a row, late '90s??? I was there, don't exactly remember when it was...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm cklequ:

Going to see Godspeed on Friday.
A rare trip outside the apartment for me.
  11:11pm rw:

And hello!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11pm Steve B._Parsippany_NJ:

coelacanth∅: Yes, you are right. I listen to WFMU all hours of the day and night and like you, don't care for some of the shows, so off goes the station! Each to their own and long live WFMU! oh, and thanks for noticing my posts...I see your posts, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12pm Steve B._Parsippany_NJ:

Hi rw!
  11:13pm buddy:

Greets to Mr Blumin and the Blu-Min Group!
Avatar 11:13pm TDK60:

I'm an old fan of GY!BE --they sometimes clang and roar and sometimes bliss out (so did Quicksilver Messenger Service). Tix? I'll let the pair go. I'll batchelor it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14pm Steve B._Parsippany_NJ:

Goodnight, all! Be well and take care of each other!
  11:14pm rw:

Because I never connected with Pink Floyd, either.

Hallooooooo Howard!
Avatar 11:19pm JakeGould:

I really want to see laser Floyd again.
Avatar 11:20pm coelacanth∅:

  11:24pm still b/p:

Saw Floyd about ‘75 in Boston, but, ummm, didn’t see, cuz, umm “ didn’t feel well” and had head down in oblivion for the whole damn thing. Friends had to describe show and effects later. Oh, the shame. Oh, the loss. Oh, the wasted effort and ticket.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25pm Daniel Blumin:

That trk was going out to Oneida drummer Kid Millions who was hurt in a car accident the other day - a speedy recovery to him!
Avatar 11:26pm coelacanth∅:

godspeed you! Kid Millions
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27pm Listener Howard and the Cats:

@Daniel - I taped that show, but all I remember from the tape is the end when me and the people I was with were shuffling out and we were all stuttering and speechless because they had been so incredible... We kept trying to talk about it, but kept failing...
Avatar 11:27pm coelacanth∅:

sb/p that was the animals tour? (with the big pigs and all?!)
  11:28pm MUWFinMA:

The coelacanth is an awesome kind of fish
All the sounds on this show have made me be blooming
Avatar 11:38pm TDK60:

Another Floydity: Richard Wright should get more nods for early development of the psychedelic organ. Here I am gettin' all pedantic and it's almost midnight.
  11:38pm rw:

Wish You Were Here was the first LP I bought. It came in opaque blue shrink-wrap with a sticker on it. When I opened it in the car on the way home I thought I had torn the cover.
  11:39pm still b/p:

I stirred briefly during the female vocal in Great Gig in the Sky. Don’t know if it was original Clare Torry doing it.
Only other recollection is of giant eye projection on circular screen, and oyyyy, out again.
  11:40pm rw:

still b/p, sorry you missed that show but you DID get some good stories and a lesson out of it!
  11:40pm rw:

Jeez. I'm such a dad.
Avatar 11:42pm TDK60:

Soft Machine's organ too.
Avatar 11:43pm coelacanth∅:

i tried for a long time to preserve that blue shrink wrap! i carefully opened the edge to take the record out but of course had to check out the fiery/watery cover now and than and every time i went to put it back on it seemed smaller! i gave up eventually.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44pm Fox:

Hopefully I'll get my prescription of Modafinil in time for the marathon! Wooooooo!
Avatar 11:45pm coelacanth∅:

(i guess it was just fiery. the watery part was the postcard that came with the album)
Avatar 11:47pm coelacanth∅:

i love this!
  11:47pm still b/p:

“Now, who’s the only one who paid a price and missed out, huh? Huh?”
I do remember pre- show before train into town, out in the bushes for vodka and grapefruit , and one of our buddies spotted a colored snake and went berserk on it with a big stick, like the woman in the BC comic strip. Trains crowded with concert-goers, joints passed on train.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I bought a used copy of The Dark Side of the Moon album in college and it had a poster of the prism. I'm pretty sure I still have the poster safely inside that album cover.
Avatar 11:51pm TDK60:

Wonderful sonics tonight DJ Daniel. Will you come back and spin for us?
Avatar 11:51pm coelacanth∅:

mine had 2 posters: a band image one in 6 blocks, and 3 pyramids in blue. everyone else i knew had the pyramids in green and off the one side of the poster.
Avatar 11:52pm coelacanth∅:

("off TO" one side)
Avatar 11:55pm coelacanth∅:

my biggest non-enjoyment of a show because of substance abuse is Toots & the Maytals, where i was tripping hard right in front of Toots and freaking out!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55pm ! I X Key !:

QUESTION TO EVERYONE: What is your favorite kind of primate?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57pm Daniel Blumin:

TDK, I certainly hope so! The next two weeks we'll be raising them funds to be able to do just that!
Avatar 11:57pm coelacanth∅:

pygmy marmoset because i can carry it in my pocket so it's there whenever i need it.
  11:57pm still b/p:

That’s tough in a crowd. You bailed, or stayed?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Bush baby, probably.
  11:59pm still b/p:

All primates sneaky.
  11:59pm rw:

Yes, thanks DB! Have a good week and rest those vocal cords!

I know it's the unpopular choice but I've got to go with humans.
Avatar 11:59pm coelacanth∅:

haha, i was scared to move! i was recording it with a little walkman, 4' from the stage, in bright sunlight. he kept making eye contact with me!
