Options Brian Turner: Playlist from July 18, 2017 Options

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

VERY intriguing cover of the Heart tune.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm The Oscar:

Idm performed a couple of sets at the Boston Hassle public access telethon a couple of months ago. The "singalong" he led in the cramped soundstage a little after midnight was especially transcendent.
Avatar 3:14pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Wow, I always hated this song but this cover is great! Thanks Puff Tube!

hey brian, what's that "you know what your problem is? that you're happy" spoken/narrative track that you play every so often? Been thinking about it all day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...sax & violence...
Avatar 4:01pm Brian Turner:

Its an excerpt from the Simon Pegg UK TV Series, Spaced. Ever seen it? So good....

Avatar 4:05pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar 4:05pm Cecile:

Avatar 4:08pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Times are weird. Anybody check in with our dear friend Fadades? I'm worried.
Avatar 4:11pm Cecile:

Fadades, the Tommy Wiseau of black metal
Avatar 4:11pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

2017 needs more metal space pyramids.
Avatar 4:13pm Chris from DC:

Ha, I almost forgot about Fadades.

Btw - NPR Sound Opinions show on the NewZealand scene:
- maybe too basic for youze aficionados - but good catch-up for the likes of me & maybe a good overview...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm pinholga:

@Cecile 4.05
I enjoyed it. The plot is basically music driven, and it's shot in a really compelling way. I'm not much for action movies, so on paper the idea of an hour and a half car chase doesn't sound great, but the characters and music kept it interesting for me, at least.

Also worth pointing out that Edgar Wright directed Spaced, so fully linking it back to the Turnerverse...

If you just read the playlist without listening, the sound you would envision sounds exactly like what is playing.
