Listening from sunny, cool New Orleans (we get about one day a year like this).
Avatar 11:16am herb.nyc:

This Beatles reminded me of Steve Nieve showing Elvis C a Beatles record, circa 77, and saying "listen to this, its vg". He hadn't heard it before, how cute. NOT April fool joke! From EC memoirs.

I don’t want to pay for other people‘s roads. Just fix the road in front of my home.
Avatar 11:34am B-rad:

it works in Canada
  11:35am Stevel:

As for the ticketing issues, I work at a theater where we have this problem with many shows. Scalpers find ways to swoop in and take more tickets then they ought to. More and more acts or working to prevent this from happening, but it's always going to be at issue I'm afraid.

Nothing like the feeling you get when you explain to people why there are dozens of empty seats in front of them when those tickets don't sell. It's never a good thing.
Avatar 11:35am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

The hardcore Beatle geeks talk about Paul's voice being an issue now & say he pushes himself too far...that's before considering prices...
Every other developed nation has worked the Health Care thing out - but Murica has this pathological reaction to Socialism. They have rigged the Economy - & convinced the people to look in the other direction for blame...
  11:38am clarke:

a good name for the spoonful band: Everything Playing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am Ken From Hyde Park:

Will the Spoonful performance appear on video or FMA later on?
Avatar 11:41am Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Ken you will have to leave Hyde Park for this one!
  11:41am George in WO:

Got tickets already, looking forward to A Spoonful of Lovin'!
  11:42am miles:

cool prima cover thing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43am drr:

clarke: what do I think? Well, I had no idea it had become so much more expensive than Austin. I already knew there were no paying jobs. But I'm working at a design firm and selling art, and not in a car every spare minute of the day.
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 11:43am Listener Baby:

Baby.. Do you remember chatting with me on the air about why The Spoonful was the greatest band in the world? Well over 20 years ago now. Yikes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am Amanda Nazario:

YES! Michael's interview with Steve Boone is lovely, very much worth a listen! And John was a total sweetheart and a great subject to chat with as well.
  11:45am clarke:

yes, gentrification and no general lee....booo!!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am drr:

The Steve Boone bio is good. Plus Sebastian wasn't the only song writer--Boone gets co-credit for "You Didn't Have To Be So Nice". that counts for a lot.
  11:48am Robert D:

Thank you for playing that Louis Prima cover of Jugband Music. I've never heard it before, amazing!
Avatar 11:48am Todd-o-phonic Todd:

And then there's Amanda's John Sebastian interview!
Avatar 11:49am Juke Joint Jonny:

I'm going to gold star this Sallie Ford tune every time you play it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am Ken From Hyde Park:

Fizzle fuzzle! Due to family commitments, I'll be unable to attend. Good luck with the show Friday. I hope it goes well and you get a big, happy crowd who goes home with wonderful memories.
Avatar 11:53am Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Wow, amazing early Don Bryant cut. Can't wait for the Brooklyn show!
Avatar 11:56am Michael Shelley:

If his singing on this new lp is any indication - it's going to be excellent.
  11:57am clarke:

he got the right drummer.
  11:59am Dennis Diken:

good to talk Mikey! sorry, forgot to mention that Amanda will be hosting the show on Friday nite!
  12:01pm clarke:

Avatar 12:20pm Cheri Pi:

  12:26pm JakeGould:

I used to really like Penn and Teller when I was in high school. Now, I just like Teller… Penn comes off as such a self-important schmuck.
  12:31pm clarke:

sammy the bull said i WON!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm drr:

JakeGould do you still think I should use MAMP??!?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm drr:

Sorry, JakeGould and I have been having a conversation on Stack Overflow, an entirely different message board about web technology mostly; just made me laugh to realize we're both on this board too...small world.
  12:37pm clarke:

speaking of Stacks - you putting a band together, DRR?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm Michael 98145:

[ weird - this song was going thru my head this morning. for no particular reason. ]
