I bow to Michael Shelley's concert recommendations. Marty Stuart in Kansas City was just terrific. It's a pity only about 600 people occupied the 1100-seat theater. How good was it? We *spent money* on a CD.

I hear you @Grace but it's better than ultra cringeworthy "chicks," "babes" or "dolls." Not that MS or any other FMU dj would say something like that.

i distinctly recall mistah shelley extolling the virtues of a 'female' just this mawnin' -- read up....

okay - will try to make it briefer...
  12:00pm clarke:

so, on tour in cali, some members of NRBQ were invited by fred gwynne's daughter to a fancy hollywood party for her dad.
  12:02pm clarke:

upon arrival they were admonished by fred's daughter to NEVER mention The Munsters to her dad (at the time, he was trying to establish some other roles in his acting career). of course, joey is a HUGE munsters fan....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02pm Tome:

so many Gems the Mamas & Papas indeed ..
  12:03pm clarke:

...so, if you know joey, telling him not to do something puts it in his head. as they are introduced to Fred, joey shakes his hand and says "MUNSTAAAHS" and runs away.

@seth from muddy: "Female" isn't disrespectful, but it's a word that could be applied to any species. "Women" at least acknowledges that we are human...
  12:43pm DG:

Yep, "Sour Milk Sea" is the only non-Beatles track with that many of them on it: George, Paul & Ringo play on it, along w/Clapton and Nicky Hopkins (plus Harrison wrote it, of course). Should have been a hit; didn't even chart in Britain!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm Bootsie:

I'd actually MUCH rather be called a "female" than a "woman," thanks.
  12:47pm DG:

Wow, haven't heard the TR track in awhile. Robinson had songs about gay issues decades before it became a huge movement, which is why it's now kind of ironic that he's living with (and has a child) w/a woman. He wrote some songs w/Elton too.
Avatar 12:48pm Joe B:

hey Michael

Sorry....apparently TR is actually MARRIED to the child's mum as well.
