Hi Irener, hello one and all
Avatar 9:01pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Sorry Irene added an 'r' by mistake!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:02pm Irene Trudel:

Hi "Seanr"! ;D Hope you're enjoying your US trip. Good to have you here again tonight!
  9:03pm eveostay:

Good evening, Irene!
Avatar 9:04pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Had a grand day today, had my first surfing lesson, managed to stand up a couple of times, it's a lot harder than it looks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& that is called a groove...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14pm Irene Trudel:

Welcome, eveostay and rev. rabbit! Sean, I'm so uncoordinated that I'd probably break my neck surfing! I'm happy to watch the experts.
Avatar 9:17pm Sean in Bristol UK:

After the lesson I went for a drive along Main Street, Pacific Ocean with the windows down and The Beach boys playing from my phone through the speakers, I should imagine people were thinking "What a prat"!!!! Living the Californian dream, dudes, sorry!
Avatar 9:19pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Oh, I feel like I have been run over by a truck, aching in places I thought wasn't possible!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Lived in Santa Barbara 16 years - from New Hampshire. Remember when I 1st got there - plam trees were a big deal: I only know those from dinosaur movies!
...Tried ice skating in Yosemite...yeah...no.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24pm Irene Trudel:

Oh, I'm a little jealous. Peter and I took a drive up the Pacific Coast from Los Angeles to San Francisco. And, yes, we had Pet Sounds blaring on the stereo. We're unfortunately not going to get to California this autumn. Have a great time for us!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm Irene Trudel:

Rev. Rabbit, I've only seen Santa Barbara briefly after a lunch stopover in our drive. looked like a lovely town. Haven't gone to Yosemite yet. It's on our list...
Avatar 9:29pm Sean in Bristol UK:

I am not going to clog up the comments list with a run down of everything I have done but another epic trip, crossed the border into Tijuana yesterday, a breeze going through Mexican Immigration, an hour to come back the other way and that's pretty quick apparently! Tijuana was dusty!
Avatar 9:30pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Back to the music, this track is jumping, nice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I ain't seen much, but Yosemite is the most beautiful Nature I have seen.
Amazing Bass - how sweet the sound...
Avatar 9:33pm Van in DC:

I made it. Computer problems big time. Still.
Avatar 9:34pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Hey the legend that is Van, greetings my friend
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34pm Irene Trudel:

Welcome, Van! What's up with your computer?
Avatar 9:35pm Van in DC:

Sean! Greetings my friend!
Avatar 9:36pm Van in DC:

I have no idea, but very very very un-responsive and slow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38pm Irene Trudel:

Hmmm, I've been having similar problems, but chalk it up to an overly full harddrive. Hope it resolves soon.
Avatar 9:41pm Sean in Bristol UK:

An evening Mets game on in the background with the sound muted, a cold fresh Stone IPA and the wonderful Irene playing in my headphones, super duper, nice and loads more superlatives!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42pm redkayak:

Evening all. Grading papers. My students will benefit from my improved mood via the music here :)
Avatar 9:44pm Van in DC:

reboot. Back.
Avatar 9:47pm Van in DC:

OMG My internet service is still very very bad. I might not be able to keep up tonight. GRRRRRRRRR
Avatar 9:48pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Have you got the app, Van, that might be better
Avatar 9:51pm Van in DC:

I do. But I just keep killing the pop up player and restarting it. always dies though.
Avatar 9:55pm Van in DC:

I think I have to once again catch up on archive Not sure what is going on with my internet connection tonight but it is brutal. Hope to be back next week. Sean, Irene, everyone, have an awesome day/night
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56pm Irene Trudel:

Hi redkayak! Improved moods will be in abundance tonight, I promise.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56pm Irene Trudel:

So sorry Van! Hope it improves.
Avatar 9:56pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Bummer, Van, catch up with you soon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:05pm redkayak:

Hey Irene. Thanks! I'm reviewing papers re: contaminated soils. My students are pretty sharp this term :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06pm redkayak:

Wow. Kronos Quartet. Thanks!
Avatar 10:06pm Sean in Bristol UK:

redkayak, contaminated soils, I am intrigued, what is that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08pm redkayak:

@sean - For a horticulture class. They're basically reviewing screwed up urbanized settings. Looking at improvement options....
Avatar 10:08pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Irene, I am tuned in and paying attention but the Mets just blew a two run lead, going into extras
Avatar 10:09pm Sean in Bristol UK:

@redkayak, thank you, for some bizarre reason I had nappies in mind!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm redkayak:

@Sean - FYI, if it ain't the White Sox, I'm behind the Mets. Don't like the Cubs!
Avatar 10:10pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Sorry you call nappies by a different name! Diapers, ok, moving swiftly on!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10pm redkayak:

@sean - yep. Plenty of room for improvement here in Cook County, sir :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11pm redkayak:

Okay.....back to work. These essays won't grade themselves....
Avatar 10:11pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Cubs are doing us a massive favour so far in their series.
Avatar 10:11pm coelacanth:

hello Irene and others
- liking this Christopher Tignor
  10:12pm P-90:

Good Evensong, DJ Irene and all the Trudelivered. Just logging in to give thanks that this show is once again on the schedule. It has certainly earned perennial status.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12pm redkayak:

I like the Mets. They sure looked good last year...
Avatar 10:12pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Back to the music, did you play a track from Mr Tignor recently, love this track
Avatar 10:13pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Not quite The Miracle Mets of '69 but doing a damn fine job in that department
  10:13pm P-90:

Also: listen for my band's new EP, "Contaminated Soils"
Avatar 10:13pm coelacanth:

redkayak - consider fungus, for soil decontamination.
Avatar 10:15pm Sean in Bristol UK:

T J Rivera has just said "byee', sorry, Irene, that's the last update I will do!
Avatar 10:18pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Great film, Irene, saw it last week, stellar performance from Mr Bridges
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24pm melinda:

good evening Irene & all!
Avatar 10:32pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Irene, put it in the books, our Metsies win, fab!
Avatar 10:34pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Great track from Mr Buttery, love this
Avatar 10:36pm Sean in Bristol UK:

I live in awe with how you discover all this wonderful music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40pm Irene Trudel:

Hi Melinda, coelacanth, P-90, and redkayak. Falling behind on the comments. And thanks for the Mets update. Some of the music I'm playing tonight is from the WFMU library, so I can't take all the credit for discovery. But a few have come to my attention though my own means. Happy to share!
  10:53pm herb.nyc:

Hi all. Tuned in 20" ago, v relaxing music here. I saw Speed The Plough during the Frank O'Toole era. Ah the good old days...
Avatar 11:00pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Irene, I am being extremely cheeky and I know you don't do requests but any chance of slipping in a Todd/Kate/Steven Wilson track, totally understandable if you cant, your sets take total precedence.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm Irene Trudel:

herb, S.T.P. is still great! They've incorporated a 2nd generation of family as players, which I think has rejuvenated them. Sean, I bet I could slip Steve Wilson into the mix.
Avatar 11:12pm Sean in Bristol UK:

A little over the top perhaps but I bow before your awesomeness!
Avatar 11:19pm Sean in Bristol UK:

What a beautiful track this is, just downloaded (sorry Irene, not cool) via Apple music but this has blown me away!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22pm Irene Trudel:

Michael Brook has a few really nice albums. I'd sort of forgotten about him and stumbled across the CD on my shelves. Nice that Apple Music has it.
Avatar 11:25pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Oh-er, the set has gone into the stratosphere, wonderful.
Avatar 11:26pm Sean in Bristol UK:

I am close to tears, thank you Irene, one of my favourite Mr Wilson tracks
Avatar 11:27pm coelacanth:

aw man i was brushing my teeth and missed Djivan?
not cool!
Avatar 11:29pm Sean in Bristol UK:

West Coast Listeners, I am so envious, a perfect time to listen
  11:29pm KP:

Hi, Irene.
Avatar 11:31pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Hey KP
Avatar 11:35pm Sean in Bristol UK:

The documentary is 'Dreams of a Life', I think it available on Netflix
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40pm Irene Trudel:

Hi KP! Sean, thanks for the tip on the doc. Have to watch it this week before I forget.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42pm Mister Dobalina:

Good times.
  11:43pm KP:

Hi there, Sean!
Avatar 11:46pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Irene, it's a fascinating doc, not an uplifting piece, unbelievable how her passing away didn't alert the authorities
