Live performance and chat with Guitarist Glenn Jones
After many years with the post-rock ensemble Cul De Sac, Guitarist Glenn Jones sent himself down the path of alternative tunings, eventually leading to his full embrace of the American Primitive playing style. His newest album, "Fleeting," was recorded almost literally on the banks of Rancocas Creek in Mount Holly, New Jersey, incorporating a comfortable environmental feeling to his music. Just prior to a European tour Glenn Jones stopped by to play a few tunes on WFMU.

Looking forward to the performance after a hard day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24pm Folsom:

I like the DJ's announcing upcoming events for this show, saying it's nothing to do with the IBJ.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:36pm Mike East:

loving the guitar music, Irene. My favorite human-made sound.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Does he use any kind of pick when he fingerpicks? His tone is strong but so dulcet...

Great hearing Glenn and company at Union Pool on Sunday - Also nice meeting Ms. Irene and talking radio and all the wonderful music she plays every show.

Acoustic Guitars are definitely winning, KP. Likewise, nice meeting you Mr. Elliot! That was a really nice show at Union Pool with Glenn and co.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17pm Mike East:

I think you can count on it, JakeGould...broadcasting, shopping, selling, volunteering, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18pm Irene Trudel:

Hi latecomers! Good to have you for a little while. And, Yes, Jake. Lots of WFMU Folk will be there Saturday. It seems to be the most popular day. I can't go then because I work Saturdays.
  11:18pm Carmichael:

I think Michele and Frangry were talking about broadcasting from there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20pm Mike East:

Really like the arrangement and production of this Laura Gibson. This style isn't usually my cup of tea, but its hitting the spot right now.
Avatar 11:22pm geezerette:

Hey everybody, there's room on the porch. Pour yourself an iced lemonade and watch the fireflies while these nice folks serenade us. Pitcher's over there, help yourselves.
  11:23pm Carmichael:

Hey geezerette, can I bring Sierra Nevada?
Avatar 11:24pm geezerette:

Bring it if ya got it!
  11:24pm Mark R:

Irene, you always play such beautiful music on your show. When I first moved East you were on in the afternoons, and I'd listen to you at work, but I don't get to hear you as much in the evenings. But tonight I happen to be on the West Coast, so I get to tune in.
  11:25pm Carmichael:

Hey Mark r, where are you?
  11:27pm Mark R:

Tonight I'm in Marina Del Ray, Carmichael. Til Thursday. Then I'll be back in NJ.
  11:28pm Carmichael:

Ok. I am north in Sacramento. You have better beaches ... :)
  11:29pm Mark R:

Well it's a business thing so I'm not really getting to any beaches, but there are lots of boats in the marina and the weather is beautiful.
  11:31pm Carmichael:

Man this is beautiful.
  11:33pm Carmichael:

Dang, it was part of Fire and Wine! One of my favorite bands.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39pm Irene Trudel:

Carmichael, I think you mean Iron & Wine. But yes a favorite of mine too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm Irene Trudel:

Thanks for tuning in tonight to hear all the lovely strings. Happy Spring!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58pm coelacanth:

Thanks Irene
ciao people.
  11:59pm KP:

Bye, Irene!
Avatar 10:20am Van in DC:

This time I had a valid absence excuse - I spent the evening at a live Hilary Hahn violin performance at the exquisitely gorgeous Strathmore music center in Bethesda, MD. She was, as always, truly amazing. One of the arguably top 3 to 5 virtuoso violinists on the planet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am Irene Trudel:

Wow, I'll bet Hilary was fantastic! Her performances really move me. Very adventurous!
Avatar 🥁 6:05pm Spaghetti Eastern Sal:

Cool show as always! Unfortunately always steaming, never in real-time for moi!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:48am Sean in Bristol UK:

Thank you Irene, great show and thank you to Glenn Jones for a great set
