Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

An Interview with John of the Pinocchio Theatre - 24th St. and Broadway - NYC
The Pinocchio Theater is a performance collective that does one-off polyical statement events. In this instance they were pointing out what they alledged to be lies perpetrated by Hillary Clinton. My first thought upon encountering them was that they must be Republicans or Tea Partiers. Turns out they were far left of that. I interviewed a couple of people in thr troupe and then I began to glom onto theie passers-by, assuming they were kind of a pre-screened, politically interested group. It was fortuitous because otherwise I was heading home with nothing on the Wednesday night before the show.
DJ Error: For some reason I said Saudi Arabia instead of Syria. Mindfry. Embarrassment.
Emerald Hand (Jackalope) - C. Pigeon
Jeez. Still stupefied that I said Saudi Arabia instead of Syria. Weird the stuff that gets past you when you're not looking. Emerald Hand (Jackalope) is a recent digital exercise in Garageband. I hear distortion.
Redbone  Niji Trance   Options Message from a Drum  Epic  1971  MP3  I was reviewing Redbone HITS in ITunes. This song was referred to as something more experimental for the band, and more in tune with their Native American-ness. If you don't know, Redbone had a couple of big songs in the '70s. "Come And Get Your Love." was a huge hit. "Witch Queen of New Orleans" was another. Redbone was a brother act at its core, featuring Pat and Lolly Vegas. They were a native American group, which was quite unique at the time. I actually saw them at a boat show at the Des Moines Veterans Auditorium when I was in high school.
Pinocchio Theatre Says Hillary Is Lying
The Dean Scream!
Carly Simon  That's The Way I've Always Heard It Should Be   Options
There was such a loud atmospheric hum in the Angelika interview that I ended up playing an acoustic guitar background that in tune with the hum in order to try and distract the listener from being annoyed by it. I also changed the pitch on my turntable to match the piano music to the key of the hum. I am dismayed by the amount of digital distortion I am hearing. I do try and mix my levels high because otherwise I can't get it loud enough to play on the air. Digital distortion is absolutely unforgiving and ugly. It's a struggle.
Japanese - C. Pigeon
Japanese was an assemblage I did in Garageband using found samples from LPs. 20,000 Leagues Beneath The Sea, Batman, Cledus Maggerd and the Citizens Band, and other digital mistakes. Fun for me, hopefully for you. I wonder sometimes it my digital forays, songs, etc. are too indulgent and are not interesting.
More Pinocchians PArt Tree
I like how when the guy finds out I'm only from a radio station, he isn't that impressed. He sounded that way, Pretty funny. I guess he was hoping for television.
Bern Baby Bern!
Beheading of a King  Quasar   Options Quasar (Preserving Legacy)  ?  2011  EP  I found this at random just checking out music in ITunes. Discovered later that their singer died young. Sad. Matt Paquette on vocals (Rest in peace, 1991-2011)
Marnie of Revolution Is Sexy
Elizabeth Warren
Old Mr. Brown - C. Pigeon
2 Older Guy Talks Politics
Old Mr, Brown is a song recorded one line at a time in Garageband. Kind of stupid.
Lockerbee Air Crash - BBC
Jill Stein Mention/Bern
Eisenhower - Industrial Military Complex
Do YOU Love America ?
Trek Stuff
Spock's Death
Jefferson Starship  Jane   Options Freedom At Point Zero  Epic  1979  MP3  I know about the whole history of the airplane and how for some this LP is a real nadir for the group. Still, I kind of like Jane. It sounded good to me in 79.
A Woman's M.I.6 Story
The Rut You're In - C. Pigeon
The Rut You're In ... stuff like this I do quickly. Sometimes the mood is negative, I guess, but it doesn't mean it's not valid. Mostly I like recording guitars. Vocals are trickier because to sing high and clear, I need to sing loud, and I can' t do that in our apartment. I'm too shy. So I end up whipsering all the tme and sounding like an old man. WTF.
Bernin' Down The House!
More Marnie!
Carmichael on Accu Corrects Me - Craig Chaquico from Sac Town!
Skater Stuff
A Young Artist In Union Square Park
Alvin Lee and Ten Years After  Goin' Home   Options         Woodstock Jam!
Checking in late. I am. Writing this on 10.7.15. I really had ought to be sleeping, but I am up, having just written "Jefferson's Hole" for the 10.8.Episode. I might do a gun show. Not sure. It would require interviews to be done later tonight. Or, I could go live. That might be fun. I just don't know. Anyway ... thanks for reading this. I appreciate your taking the time to get this far. You must be a real listener. A glistener. But now, as I repair to the aluminum shed, where there is a tungsten pillow where I lay my head, I shall pause before sleep and the last dying ember, to say, dear friend, please ... always remember. Glad you made it here!

Posted this on Fabio’s list, but I believe Clay would like this too: Arnold Ziffel (from “Green Acres”) tries to open a bank account, check into a hotel and woo a dog. www.youtube.com...

Avatar 6:10pm Gabbroboccia:

heard about that scream today
Avatar 6:10pm dale:

i wonder what might have happened if ralph from green acres met miss jane from beverly hillbillies?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm melinda:

He's totally right about the Dean scream.
  6:10pm Linda Lee:

evening Clay!
Avatar 6:11pm dale:

this is the ONLY carly sim on song i truly like. brilliant writing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm melinda:

omg Carly Simon. One of the last things I would expect to hear but brings back nice childhood memories.
  6:12pm Linda Lee:

@melinda. of course he's right. & just prior, Dean gave a talk to Canadian media about wanting to see the US media re-regulated. so.
  6:12pm JakeGould:

@dale: They would have opened up the first Lesbian Bookstore and Cafe in whatever town they would settle in. They would have readings and open mics.
Avatar 6:13pm dale:

i passed on a simon sisters lp at the salvay and kick myself.
  6:14pm Linda Lee:

my parents were divorcing when this song came out. the album appeared at our house .. found out later it was a gift from my dad's outside woman.
Avatar 6:15pm dale:

ouch, linda!
  6:17pm Old Dave:

Her song and album encouraged my parents to divorce. That was a big trend in the 1970's. It seems to have lead to the current need for every middle class home to need 2 incomes or fall below the poverty line. Big leap into imagined freedom for so many dreamers.
  6:19pm Linda Lee:

amazing .. the album encouraged your parents to divorce?
Avatar 6:20pm dale:

EST and those sorts of movements helped tear families apart, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20pm melinda:

If Hillary wins the nomination I'll vote for her but it's very satisfying to hear her called out like this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm steve:

hi Clay - are these pinnochio people part of some organization?
  6:21pm Dean:

"Stop calling me Shirley!"
  6:21pm JakeGould:

@dale: EST is that “Landmark Forum” crap, right?
  6:22pm Fredericks:

This guy is right about Hillary and arms sales. Donate to the Clinton foundation and the Secretary of State of the U.S. will okay weapons sales to you and your country.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22pm melinda:

Yes, Jake.
  6:24pm Linda Lee:

@dale .. still another type of self-indulgence .. i knew a whole family involved. very cultish & weird behavior on their part. .. eventually they left EST.
Avatar 6:24pm Cheri Pi:

Sounds great CP
  6:25pm Dean:

Wow, EST. As in Werner Erhard. Had totally forgotten about it.

Avatar 6:35pm dale:

didn't hear about it - awful. dusty show is where i heard about death of michael jackson, too.
  6:35pm Old Dave:

@ Linda, yep, they first separated and then felt affirmed by this and similar crap. Their friends were all caught up in it. EST as well. I remember the big TM spot at our local shopping mall.
EST still exists under a different name. A neighbor thought he was offering me a favor a couple of years ago by introducing me. No thanks!
As I get old, the obvious fact that life isn't all about me is pretty obvious.

  6:36pm JakeGould:

The irony of World War II? The massive effort to stop Hitler and the Axis resulted in the military industrial complex.

  6:47pm Old Dave:

Landmark is EST in 2015. You have been warned.

Avatar 6:47pm dale:

this woman is a brilliant psychotic.
Avatar 6:47pm cosmic matrix:

@dale, better said than i
  6:47pm JakeGould:

This is the problem with these clowns… If they think Bernie Sanders is a “tool” they are wing nuts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm chris:

i don't think she knows who Bernie is
  6:48pm Linda Lee:

there's nothing wrong with this woman. she's just a loud mouth. not the same as psychosis. she's also a leftist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm steve:

some of these people seem mentally ill
Avatar 6:49pm cosmic matrix:

@lydia, u may be correct
  6:49pm JakeGould:

“I’ve been doing this since 1967…” Yup, she probably thought Jimmy Carter was a tool as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm melinda:

@Linda Lee: important distinction.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm Carmichael:

Finally made it, Clay. Greg Chaquico is a Sacramento boy; I played in several bands with and against him during high school.
  6:51pm Fredericks:

Did I just hear Alain de Botton?
  6:52pm Linda Lee:

frankly, most of us have never met an actual old school Leftist. it's shocking how far to the right we've moved as a nation since the 60s. horrifying really.
Avatar 6:53pm Clay Pigeon:

Got it from some "The School of Life" site, Fredericks. I'll catalog it better later. Good 2cu old friend!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm Aaron in Minneapolis:

Linda I wish I was born back in the 60s
  6:53pm Linda Lee:

the fact that this woman came off as nutty to some people .. says an awful lot about where we are.
Avatar 6:54pm Clay Pigeon:

Gotta Run. Thanks for listening! And for pledging. Ooooh up to 9%! :>) Thanques! Always remember. Have a FUN weekend!
  6:54pm JakeGould:

@AaroninMinneapolis: I was born in the late 1960s so being 3 years old wasn’t the greatest counter culture experience I had.
Avatar 6:54pm Gabbroboccia:

it depends a great deak where one gets that political information from
Avatar 6:54pm Gabbroboccia:

great deak?! deal
  6:54pm Old Dave:

Amen to the skater. Be engaged. So right.
Avatar 6:54pm dale:

linda - her words bordered on a rambling rant. she was intelligent, no doubt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm Aaron in Minneapolis:

And there are the Hare Kristnas
  6:55pm Linda Lee:

@Aaron .. born in the 60s & you come of age under Reagan! fairly awful.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm melinda:

Coming of age under Reagan did suck.
Avatar 6:56pm dale:

born in the 50s. the 60s was all about ending war and feeding people and cleaning up the planet. nothing has changed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm melinda:

I like hearing the Hare Krishnas in the background.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm Aaron in Minneapolis:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm Carmichael:

One of the most amazing guitar solos EVER!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm Aaron in Minneapolis:

Clay I would like to hear last weeks interviews somehow...
  6:58pm Linda Lee:

as far as i can tell .. the national prosperity of the 60s helped the Corporation consolidate power over government & society. the activists were a minority. .. it's too bad
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm melinda:

Great show.
  6:59pm Old Dave:

Hold on- I came of age under Reagan and joined the Peace Corps while he was funding the hell out of it in 1983. He accidentally appointed Rupe as director and gave complete autonomy to the agency. It was fantastic. I re-upped.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59pm chris:
