Hi! I've been dreaming of failing.

Claw!, you gonna drop by FMU? One of these times when i'm out there, i'm gonna plan to drop by and donate some time doin' something, if i can.
  3:17pm Claw!:

Thanks, Cheri, that's the plan! Stoked to spend time with my nephews - they have no idea I'm coming, and I can't wait to surprise em. B-)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Ike & the Head of a Dead Ram:

POW POW POW! This show is smoking hot right at the top. Too bad we need to bring out the dead ram's head already.
  3:20pm Claw!:

Don't think I'll have the time, Chris. :-/ I am traveling with the mother... It's gonna be a family weekend at my brother's place, so I'm sure he has all sorts of plans lined up for us.
It'll have to be another time when I'm flying solo. Womp womp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm chris:

Sounds awesome, Claw! :-)

Avatar 3:48pm Cecile:

Fabio, you can tell Clay that I deliberately took a class on Thursday, so I'd have to leave early and miss his show. Because I'm too cool for him. ;D

Yes! Yes to Alabama!
Avatar 3:52pm ----|d¢ (pät)|----:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm chris:

i'm not dressed up enough to listen to this classy show
  3:59pm Claw!:

Chris, just put on a hat. That fixes everything.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm Carmichael:

OK, have been listening since the Giant Man but only now posting. Just saw the Polanski film Repulsion and I'm intrigued by the unsettling soundtrack music.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm Philthy woman:

Oh, Alice in the cities! I wish I could go. Actually saved a VHS copy long after I had no VCR since it hadn't been transferred/released on digital yet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm chris:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm Philthy woman:

Would LOVE to see it on actual film.

Avatar 4:27pm slugluv1313:

omg THE BELLS! did Clay Pigeon just show up?
OR is this one of those rare tunes that you BOTH adore?
no joke -- one of the greatest/cheesiest/corniest songs EVER, eternally embedded into the brains of anyone who was growing up and listening to the radio back then . . .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm common:

so good and creeepy!
  4:30pm Lulu:

did i miss it, or does anyone know the name of the song fabio speaks over often?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm Lewis:

ok - now I a really freaking out. I thought The Bells were creepy, but now I don't know what to think….
Avatar 4:32pm slugluv1313:

(and *why* do i have this bizarre visual/aural hallucination of Danielle and Alex re-interpreting "Stay Awhile"???)
Avatar 4:34pm slugluv1313:

@ Lewis -- The Bells DEFINED "creepy" in their own special way to a whole generation of kids growing up at the time . . . "quiver" INDEED!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36pm Fabio:

@ Lulu: it's an Italian sound library record called April Orchestra: Presente RCA Sound Vol.5
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm thepalaceat4am:

Strange. I was just wondering earlier today about Ayuo Takahashi ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm chris:

that Ayou track belongs in a Joe Frank episode, in such a good way
  4:42pm Lulu:

ahhhh thank you so much! grazie mille!
  4:49pm Rodney:

The new Fabrice du Welz film ALLELUIA is based on the Honeymoon Killers story. Highly recommended.
Avatar 4:50pm slugluv1313:

THE BELLS were HUGE! early 1970s -- "Stay Awhile" was a big hit in 1971, "11 weeks on the charts, peaking at #7" (thank you, Joel Whitburn!) -- followed up by "Fly Little White Bird Fly" (not a Top 40 hit but i remember hearing it on the radio) -- a friend of mine was President of The Bells' Fan Club when he was like . . . 11 . . . "Stay Awhile" was supposed to be "romantic," i guess, but even as little kids, it creeped a lot of us out!
Avatar 4:52pm slugluv1313:

ahhhhh "The Honeymoon Killers" -- AMAZING film -- "Don't be a shy nurse" buahahahahahahaha
Avatar 4:52pm slugluv1313:

"Valley Stream -- what a JOKE!"
  4:54pm P-90:

"Army of Shadows" is one of the all-time greats.
Anyone who goes to Fim Forum to "discover" it is in for rare treat.
Avatar 5:03pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar 5:16pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...interesting 20th Century tape manipulations & studio electronics by this James person - yars yars - the Academy approves...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm Ĩkє:

The one failure you won't hear on this show is the failure to include the occasional NSFW moaning lady. I'm glad I'm not at work. ;)
Avatar 5:21pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Little Richard:..."where'd you get that name 'Hendrix' you got?? I never heard uh nobody named 'Hen-dracks' - 'cept the iceman in Macon, GA"...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:25pm Marcel M:

Yo Fabio! Its hot as hell out there... fixin' myself a Hendricks and Tonic with cucumber... Elixir of the gods!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm Marcel M:

I love how Conrad Schnitzler knew he could and wanted to make "non-music" because of the sounds Hendrix was getting from his amp. Pretty cool.
  5:30pm Ross:

Loved that Bells song. How romantic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm Fabio:

@ Sean: You can thank Clay Pigeon for reviving the interest and LOVE for the G&Ts. perfect summer --- or anytime drink!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm Marcel M:

@Fabio: Can't beat it in the summer! I may have a hard time going back to Bourbon once it gets colder..
Avatar 5:41pm tonyb:

looks like today at 2:50
was the final screening of
"the goalie's anxiety..."

(pardon, if you mentioned that already)
  5:43pm Lulu:

this sounds like Can
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm Marcel M:

Methinks it IS can
  5:45pm Lulu:

oh well then that makes sense : )
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Marcel M:

  5:47pm P-90:

@Marcel M: Schnitzler's comment about Hendrix really grabbed me too. Also his discussions of Warhol and Henry Miller as influences.
@Fabio: thanks again for "The Connie Schnitzler Experience." I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd love to hear the rest of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm Marcel M:

@P-90: I also really loved the Miller part. Its wonderful to hear someone like that speak of his non musical influences. I thought he was saying he was not so into "pop art," or did I mishear that?

And I too would love to hear the rest!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm Marcel M:

Clay hasn't heard can..... :-O

I think he would like it
