heya Fabio!

this has a "Careful With That Axe, Eugene" groove to it

Rev. Turnip Druid:

[crashes through window, very late, falls to floor in a spray of glass, tries (fails) to play it cool, takes a seat in the back corner, silently weeps...]
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm

[steps over rubble, sits down next to Rev., hands Rev. a clean handkerchief]
Avatar 3:29pm

Howdee to all people of the fine kingdom of failuredom! ;-)
Avatar 3:32pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

[blows a frightening amount of foul matter into handkerchief, stares hopelessly at feet while handing the thing back with an animal mumble of humiliated thanks...]
Avatar 3:32pm
V Priceless:

any children sneezing on you, Fab?
Avatar 3:33pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

huh. Speaking of handkerchiefs... and yay for the Schickert.

“Those summer colds are the worst.” (because they're caused by enteroviruses and not rhinoviruses, like the milder, winter colds are)

Oh dang, Fabio. I got the creeping crud, too. It is worse in the summer somehow. Hope you feel better!

Allergies Fabio, allergies!!! try quercetin
Avatar 3:35pm

i got a goddam sore throat today for some reason. what bullshit.
Avatar 3:36pm

i eat raw garlic most nights to fend off colds... forgot for a few days and here i am.

@steve: How can you eat raw garlic?!?! Doesn’t it burn. Just roast it or cook it… Same effect but less pain and burning of your mouth/throat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm

Thanks for the warning -- switching to the webstream now!
Avatar 3:50pm

im really into good (and healthy) spicy foods, so it seems less extreme to me than it might to a normal person. raw garlic is extremely good for your immune system, but it has to be raw and has to be crushed and chewed up (you can't just swallow it immediately) for all the good stuff to make it into your head and sinuses.
Avatar 3:52pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Bless you for the Martin Denny. It's been almost a week since the Hawaii trip but I'm still hallucinating tikis & tall drinks everywhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm

Last night was surprisingly chilly and windy, and I left all the windows open, so I woke up dehydrated w/a sore throat. But it didn't last. Should've pulled out that humidifier as soon as it cooled off last night.
Avatar 3:54pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Best thing for that first feeling of a cold: STRONG BLACK COFFEE and SERIOUS RAGE.
Avatar 3:56pm
V Priceless:

@ Rev TD: how was your Skylarking chin-wag w/Todd?

Failure to catch the first hour. Penalty: I'm here just in time for Yoko...

One of her less rewarding experiments.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm

On the other hand, maybe dehydration is my punishment from the universe for irritating the living baloney out of Scott Williams. Sorry, universe. Sorry, Scott. :P

Rev. Turnip Druid:

@VP: didn't get access to the man, but Mrs. Todd was there (delightful person), who gracefully sang Happy Birthday to Mrs. Druid (it was the reason for the trip). So there's a wee brush with fame, with some skylarking story spinning.

This is my punishment to the universe.

John really knew what he was doing with that feedback guitar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm

I dunno, Fabio, seems like this would clear out your sinuses pretty well at the right volume.

Hugh C:

Hello Fabio,
The 91.1 signal was marginal best, unless one were under the transmitter, or south of the Watchungs. I don't miss it one bit!..... They asked me why I grounded my tuner in a potato......Martin Denny came in wonderfully, on the Bose Soundwave.
Avatar 4:06pm
V Priceless:

@ Rev: great stuff, any way you slice it, and belated birthday cheer to the little lady. Wonder where that Chamberlin is? Probably still @ Bearsville.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm
Ike & the Head of a Dead Ram:

I did the potato thing for a while in Peapack, NJ. It actually helped pick up 91.1. And yes, there's a town called Peapack.

Avatar 4:16pm

i hear they got veggie sausages

Avatar 4:21pm

I am coming off a bad summer cold, and also found out I have asthma. Who knew?
Avatar 4:21pm

Ike: you want gravy on that dead ram head?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm
Ike & the Head of a Dead Ram:

No thanks, it's already pretty well picked-over since it's from 2012, back when you created it for that troll, Cecile. ;)
Avatar 4:40pm

I love a radio show that defies Shazam.

this is great !!!
Avatar 4:44pm

Pay-pall bull. Long A, like "papist"
Avatar 4:45pm

Avatar 4:49pm

Fabio is the Reddit of freeform.

In my case, I guess, it took several boyfriends

Fabio is a big meanie and he wears smelly pants and his shirt smells bad too.

I caught "The Third Man" Restoration; a fantastic print
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm

Go to the Yoko thing and sit in the black bag

They're also playing "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer" during the True Crime series. Just about the most terrifying film I've seen

"Henry"? I love Tudor history!

...what kind of human being does it make me that I find coming home to this noise such soothing medicine??...
Avatar 5:19pm

@ Rev Rab Nov63: sounds like the same kinda human as a bunch of us FAILURE Fanatics -- for example, years ago i came home from a REALLY stressful day at work, Fabio was playing a whole (LP) side of "Metal Machine Music" -- sooooo SOOTHING and HEALING! -- so i called him (yes, pre-internet days!) to offer my sheer, profound GRATITUDE

Avatar 5:26pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Indeed...for one thing - I just appreciate not having to dumb down, or to be condescended to - but to simply be happily in over my head culturally...

@Fabio: in French that's pronounced "prayzm", like it's all one syllable, and with that glottal "r" sound, like you're coughing up something.
Ocher Ogre:

Superb film on Francis Bacon, or as his friend called him... eggs, 'Love Is The Devil'. The lead actor bears an amazing resemblance to Bacon.
Avatar 5:38pm
Hugh C:

Ike & company.
I know Peapack well, renovated an old barn, into an apartment, once upon a time, must've been '67,'68...there was an old cistern on the property, which supplied water to the steam locos, which ran on the Lackawanna R.R.
Avatar 5:39pm

ahh, they're crawling all over my tympanic membrane!
Avatar 5:41pm

true, slug. I listen to a lot more abstract stuff than I used to. Give me mental room.
