If Fabio and Clay reach $xxxx (amt. to be decided), Fabio gets to turn the tables and grill Clay on why he's so insecure and needs so much affirmation, right?
  3:14pm Robert:

Thanks, Ralphine. "Ramp up the intensity" means you come unglued--which I hope Ken & Andy have done by now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Caryn:

@Robert: googling reveals that near the start, the Morse spells out "radioactivity", and near the end "radioactivity is in the air for you and me".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm cory:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Andrew Waterloo:

Yah, YYZ starts with the airport transponder code.
  3:32pm Robert:

Then there's a piece a lot of people went nuts trying to decipher the code from, and it turned out it was a loose wire. It was noticed after the take, but they decided to leave it in.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm common:

  3:51pm Don:

I want to share one of my favorite stories of listening to Fabio.
One day at my old job, I drove over to the fast-food joint at the strip mall, listening to Fabio playing some Aaron Dilloway.
I parked in a secluded, shady spot and went in to get my lunch.
I came back to my car, had a quick smoke, and put the radio back on.
As I ate, I listened to a fantastic collage of noise in a lightly-buzzed state. Voices, sounds and music drifting in and out of dense layers of sound. Random at first, but the more I listened, the more I could detect the structure of it all. It was amazing. I was so into it, I didn't want to go back to work. I wanted to hear every second of it, I needed to know the artist.
Finally I started to drive. Seconds later the radio locked onto WFMU's signal and I realized I had been listening to between-station noise the entire time.
Hail Fabio, for giving us a radio show that makes a story like this make perfect sense!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm steve:

whoa nice Rev
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm CockTails42:

fabio and clay together, with shows back to back, are a very formidable combo. The marathons are generally fun listening because of all the DJ-to-DJ repartee and interaction.
Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Andre:

Yay Can! But I was actually pledging from Rome, not Stanford (just for the statistic)
Avatar 3:53pm Cecile:

I second that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm cory:

Avatar 3:54pm Claw!:

Time for some randomness - I'm gonna post this link to a short video I just got in my inbox:
Somehow, "I'm sorry" and "You're welcome" both seem appropriate.
Avatar 3:54pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I desparately wanted to pledge to the 'neck job' man (:)), but my country doesn't pop up in the list of countries. Add Kosova! You guys have listeners here!!!

Avatar 3:59pm fred:

The Fabio/Clay marathon shows are a personal favorite. That's why "perpendicular" tends to pop into my head when I think about Germans (one of my bosses is one). I probably even said that a few times. All because Clay said "Germans are so... perpendicular" in a previous installment

@Tomasz - I'm reading. I've got a couple of FMU friends in Glasgow. Occasionally meet up for gigs. Can let you know if there's any experimental drone or Japanese extreme guitar coming our way!
Avatar 5:23pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Good lord, what a miscue: at first thought the T-Rex title was THE SOUL OF MY SHIT, which means now someone needs to do a whacked cover version...

@Stanley: Swans in Glasgow on 23rd of May, it's gonna be great! If you think you can handle more Gira, you should come
  5:30pm Hugh C:

Clay, Fabio,
Great show, ...already pledged my limit, but I was In Dingle, Ireland, and drove past Delores O'Riordan's home.

Cory B. didn't grow up in Newark. He's from some upscale suburb like Haledon or something. I voted for him for mayor thrice. See the excellent documentary about his failed first run for mayor.

  5:56pm Gee Lampa:

Yes, in the live "Baby Snakes" show, he does a whole monologue, pre-song, trashing Frampton.

Not to say Zappa has been 100% quality. Gets a tad infantile...
  5:56pm tomasz.:

ohhh nice. she's supercute in that video.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm steve:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00pm Carmichael:

@Lampa: As a Zappa fan, I totally agree. Which gives creedence to one of his album titles, "Shut Up and Play Yer Guitar."

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:04pm CockTails42:

the only one of PFs i like is Do You Feel Like I Do...
  6:05pm Gee Lampa:

Why does Fab have to be so smug?!? Clay said Edinburgh was in UK. Fab HAS to score a point by saying "No, it's Scotland!!"

...Which is part of the UK.

Get wise!
Avatar 6:05pm MacGuffin:

He said 'England', didn't he? Not 'UK'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05pm CockTails42:

thanks to both of you for working hard all year long….
Avatar 6:05pm Marcel M:

Probably just misheard Gee Lampa, I noticed that too. Be easy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05pm Carmichael:

He's not smug, Lampa. He's "wry" ...
Avatar 6:06pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Technically it's a collaboration of ORICHALCUM & THE DEVIANT. This album is actually pretty freakin' wonderful.
Avatar 6:06pm Cecile:
