That looks more like a diaper.
Avatar 3:04pm Polyus:

Hide your shame, O Dark Lord.
Avatar 3:05pm Sem Chumbo:

Hell is 4 years late for your manicure,
and finding a hat with horn holes. Hiya, Irwin, and all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm common:

horn holes! good un, sem!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm redkayak:

Hey all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm redkayak:

Not Getting Behind is the New Getting Ahead - ain't that the truth.....
  3:13pm Mark:

You know, a little jazz wouldn't kill this station now and then. Nice set so far, Irwin. Big fan of your show in general.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm rrg:

"In general"? Faint praise, I call that.
  3:17pm V Priceless:

Yo Irwin!
  3:17pm Mark:

Allow me to clarify, then: In addition to liking this particular set, I always like Irwin's show.
  3:19pm Mark:

Demo, my ass. This m/f/ is number one with a bullett!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm rrg:

Hey, I'm just funnin' you, Mark.
  3:20pm Mark:

I wouldn't want Irwin to feel less than 100% loved.
  3:24pm Rocco:

He never used the word "lied"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm Ike:

I was worried you were going somewhere political with that, but you swerved off course nicely. Groovy, old pal, groovy. √√√
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Wayne 'Polkadot' Shorter - helluva way w/ a hornhole...yessir...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm rrg:

In defense of Brian Williams: human memory is provably fallible and also malleable in ways that most people may not realize. It's entirely possible, maybe even likely, that he really is misremembering and not "lying" (for which he's been pilloried and his life destroyed).

I'm no special fan or friend of the man one way or another. I'm just sayin'.
  3:32pm Rocco:

@rrg: you're lying
Avatar 3:34pm MenfussMike:

first #1 song recorded in Memphis since 1976. Give you a beer if you know the song from 1976

...w/ or w/out hornholes - Satan apparently shares the acorn headware w/ other supernatural figures: media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm efd:

I'll guess either "Love Rollercoaster" or "Play That Funky Music."
  3:36pm ?:

I had to google it, and now I wish I did not know the answer . . .
Avatar 3:37pm MenfussMike:

haha ? I know right.
Avatar 3:38pm MenfussMike:

It also shared a Peoples Choice Award with KISS's Beth for song of the year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm rrg:

What is this music over which you are speaking, Mr. DJ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm Irwin:

Moondog - "Caribea" (looped)
  3:46pm Laura L:

Who you callin' looped.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm rrg:

Ah. Thank you. In retrospect it had to be either Moondog or...I don't know, maybe some old European 78 from the 1930s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm rrg:

Loopin' Lizards, it's Laura L. Hi, LL.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Irwin:

Moondog recorded "Caribea" in 1956. He did make some 78s, but I don't know if those Prestige tracks originally appeared in that format.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm Irwin:

This one's for Laura!
  3:55pm Laura L:

Hi RRG--and thanks for this Apocalypse, Irwin!
Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Garth:

Nice cover!
  3:59pm Flubby:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Irwin:

Don't know. Got it from Bruce 15 yrs ago. Must be on the web somewhere.
  4:00pm Robert:

Yeah, you can actually hear what they're singing on this one! ;-)
  4:01pm Robert:

(Sorry, Shags.)
  4:10pm Robert:

Onion loaf? Is that like onion board? Or a block of French fried onions?
Avatar 4:18pm V Priceless:

oy - thanx for sharing, Joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm Carmichael:

OK, finally made it to the big shoe, fer chrissakes. I shall be in perusal mode for some minutes.
  4:41pm Bob:

Spayed or neutered? Choose wisely.
  4:50pm Flubby:

Ugh. This is depressing.
  4:51pm Robert:

Flubby, superficially it's a morose tale, but I've LOL thru most of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm Irwin:

How about "grim," Flubby. Does "grim" apply?
  4:53pm Bob:

Hang in there. The pay off at the end is uplifting. Well worth the trip. oh wait. That's "The Wizard of OZ" I was thinking of.
  4:57pm Flubby:

I'm sad.
  5:04pm Fredericks:

Hey Irwin, was that the end or is it to be continued? The Ives sounds perfect.
Avatar 5:09pm MikeY:

Damn Show made me cry.
  5:09pm Dean:

He worked in the cubicle adjacent to Wallace Stevens'.
Avatar 5:09pm MikeY:

I laughed to but it hit home too close to home
Avatar 5:11pm ironybread:

Insert joke here about Kanye taking Charles Ives' Grammy away, because the KANYE JOKES NEVER STOP. Seriously, that well will NEVER GO DRY. "Central Park in the Dark" + Kanye talking over it = pure gold.
  5:13pm Dean:

Which Grammy did he take? Maternal or paternal?
Avatar 5:13pm ironybread:

"A Pact with God" (the remix) was the first Joe Frank show I ever heard....KCRW, 1997. This was the underscore for most of the remix: www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm Irwin:

I presume Mr. Griddles is playing Optigan.
  5:19pm Dean:

"You're a weaver of doodles, you and your come-hither smile."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm Carmichael:

I love anyone named Skeeter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33pm rrg:

We could do with more Skeeter around here.
Avatar 5:33pm Sem Chumbo:

Missed Skeeter AND Freddie. Double damn those Trick or Treaters.
Avatar 5:36pm dale:

so there i am painting a section 8 apartment that's totally filthy and layered with nicotine having a horrible time of it all and wishing i were dead instead. then i hear that shaggs cover - bless you oh irwin. made my day!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm rrg:

Assume that I don't pay attention to much of anything (which is true) and tell me why everyone is making jokes about Kanye West. What did he do? I mean, what new thing?

Please don't make me go to the Internet to find out. Because I won't.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm Irwin:

Avatar 5:39pm Erella:

I'm thoroughly enjoying today's show. Thank you, Irwin The unidentified calypsonian made me laugh.
Avatar 5:40pm dale:

had to look that up - don't know why i thought their last name was actually 'shagg'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Irwin:

hErro eRellA!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Carmichael:

RRG, Kanye was busy being himself, I believe most recently at those grammy awards thingies telecast. I just saw AC/DC and then cut out, so I know as much as you do. Well, I do have daughters who serve me as "reality filters".
  5:43pm Dean:

Union! Rather, Torff of Union! Glad you found it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Irwin:

Thanks, Dean. Some of their stuff was a bit too "well-mannered" for my tastes, but I liked the percussion and bass tracks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm rrg:

Thanks for another fine program, Irwin. I like the Byrds stuff that you've been playing recently. And other stuff as well.

It's dinner time, and it looks like there's bacon tonight. Bye, all.
Avatar 5:52pm ironybread:

RRG: The short version of what Kanye did recently can be summed up thusly: Mercury. Venus. The Kanye West Show, With Special Guest Stars The Human Race. Mars. Asteroid Belt.
Avatar 5:52pm Sem Chumbo:

Been lovely, Irwin, the Devil pillowcase notwithstanding. See you next time.
  5:56pm Dean:

Indeed, Hobgood is refined in ways that, say, Keith Jarret on a good night is not. There is definitely a whiff of stereotypical ECM about the Union records, but I'm not entirely averse to stereotypical ECM. Weird to think that the drummer, Paul Wertico, was one of two on the Derek Bailey/Pat Metheny record!
  5:57pm Laura L:

Thanks, Irwin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- Thx I.C. Sir.
