Greetings and good morning from the Last Chance Virtual Cafe!
Avatar 3:03am KP:

Hi, Bill
Avatar 3:05am Sem Chumbo:

Epiphanies: didn;t he run the long distance from Marathon to Athens? Good morning, Bill, and all butt-less chaps everywhere.
Hiya, KP and Andy.
Avatar 3:07am Andy in Berlin:

Hey you guys!
  3:07am badcarpenter:

this church music is giving me acid flashbacks
Avatar 3:08am Andy in Berlin:

I try to have only good acid flashbacks. Works, mostly.
Avatar 3:09am Sem Chumbo:

@badcarpenter: better than acid reflux anyday.
Avatar 3:10am Bill Mac:

I would imagine that more than some of you have been high in church
Avatar 3:10am Sem Chumbo:

You're not going all John Donne on us, are you Bill?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10am Stanley:

Hi Bill, everyone, Ratty
  3:10am Martyn:

Good morning Bill and all.

Lots of epiphanies here... and three dates for my diary.
Avatar 3:13am Bill Mac:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14am Stanley:

Talking about church music, I dig the Cowboy Junkies Trinity Sessions.

Avatar 3:21am Brian in UK:

Hello Bill & chums.

What Ho Sem.

The Itchy & Ratty Show eh?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22am Stanley:

Hi Sem - see you popping up all over the place, lately.
Avatar 3:23am Sem Chumbo:

@BiUK:Ho,Ho,Ho, my old trout,
Avatar 3:23am Brian in UK:

I understand why the Christmas Day fill in for the Great God McGasko, Bill? He has work to do.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24am Guido from Cologne:

Good morning Bill and everyone!
What's up for ... shall we call it farewell-breakfast?
OK farewell lullaby on the other side of the pond maybe ...
Avatar 3:24am Brian in UK:

Sem I think Wodehouse was the first to verb the noun except he did in context not just a one off.
Avatar 3:24am Sem Chumbo:

@Stanley:a little time on my hands between gigs, Stanley. Seeing you in all the old familiar places as well.
Avatar 3:25am Brian in UK:

Great Scott
Avatar 3:26am Sem Chumbo:

@Brian: I read him out loud to myself for the pure pleasure of hearing the work.
Avatar 3:27am Brian in UK:

I would love to hear Scott sing 'My trousers are on fire'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28am Stanley:

Yeah, had to be away last two Saturdays. Good to be here sitting in my vest and pants once again.
Avatar 3:29am Brian in UK:

Stanley is that because your trousers are on fire?
Avatar 3:29am Bill Mac:

Hi All, sorry for my rudeness - I'm still getting things together here!
@Stanley - vest?
Avatar 3:32am Brian in UK:

For a Freeform station, WFMU is very traditional ie Halloween, Christmas etc brings out the obvious records. No offence.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32am Stanley:

Brian - I can't lie about that.
Bill - yes, I'm wearing my authentic Jamaican rasta-style string vest.
  3:33am emile:

Scott Walker is kinda like Neil Young for me -- great but a little pretensious and annoying
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34am Stanley:

Brian - yeah, its just like Tesco at Christmas.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34am Guido from Cologne:

Good idea!
Tell the DeeJays to play Halloween records on Xmass and Xmass records on Halloween.
Avatar 3:35am Brian in UK:

I did try 'Tilt' but found it hard work. Now The Walker Brothers. If we are going to get maudlin The Sun Aint Gonna Shine Anymore.
Avatar 3:38am Bill Mac:

We got some heavy competition on xmas as it is - there's a guy out of Princeton that has been doing marathon chrisstmas shows there for 25 years now. It's a cross being indie holiday fare and a Jerry Lewis Telethon - you know I mean that in a good way
Avatar 3:41am Brian in UK:

Different Jerry Lee but this has jsut come out.
  3:41am emile:

Bill, gotta go. I will enjoy the archives until you return. See y'all soon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42am Stanley:

emile - catch ya.
Avatar 3:43am Sem Chumbo:

@Brian: been following the promotion of the book, keen to read it.
Avatar 3:44am Brian in UK:

Leggy Mountbatten was a Leg End.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44am Guido from Cologne:

"the personified kindness" so to say translating Chris Immler's title.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46am Stanley:

Brian - is that something like a silly mid wicket?
Avatar 3:46am Sem Chumbo:

It burns! It burns!
Avatar 3:47am Brian in UK:

Bill, Vashti is on Jeffrey's show next week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50am mauri:

Avatar 3:53am Brian in UK:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57am mauri:

Today's all about music. Creative moments ahead.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11am Stanley:

Ah, The Pop Group. Saw them a couple of weeks back. Terrific show, sounded just like thirty-five years ago, when I last saw them
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12am Stanley:

Unlikely, I'll see them in another thirty-five.
Avatar 4:12am Bill Mac:

I see that Gang of Four are also back out
Avatar 4:14am BEAVO:

Why do shows that exceed their goal get bumped? One the best shows on here. Damn!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17am Stanley:

It must be a lot of fun for old rockers to reform. Kids have left home, mortgage paid etc.
Avatar 4:19am Bill Mac:

@Beavo I think it's about trying out new ideas - eh what are you gonna do, right? I'll be back.

My mouse is sticky....
Avatar 4:20am Sem Chumbo:

"...old rockers to reform." Stanley, yes in their maturity, they move on from their misspent youths and feature Lawrence Welk polkas at their shows.
Now there's a mosh pit I'd like to see.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24am Stanley:

The Lawrence Welk Memorial Mosh Pit
Avatar 4:24am Bill Mac:

Old Mom and dad in jack boots...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26am Stanley:

Avatar 4:30am Sem Chumbo:

Doc Martin Jack Boots, with Velcro fasteners.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33am Stanley:

It's not class or ideology
Colour, creed, or roots
The only thing that unites us
Is Dr Marten's boots

Avatar 4:36am Bill Mac:

I used to dance like that!
Avatar 4:42am Brian in UK:

Oh those bluddy drums. Get a Ringo kit, man.
Avatar 4:43am Brian in UK:

Hello John got a new motor?
Avatar 4:43am Bill Mac:

I got blisters on me fingers!!!
Avatar 4:44am Sem Chumbo:

Hahaha, Stanley. Love the lead singer's suit, looks like an English gangster, p'raps he was one?
Avatar 5:03am e12:

Avatar 5:08am Bill Mac:

@KP Thank you. Forget Zepplin, this was the band...
Avatar 5:10am Bill Mac:

I should be back, thanks for your support and friendship through the years. I'm sure we'll be catching up a little further down the road... stay warm till then
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15am Stanley:

Avatar 5:17am Andy in Berlin:

Avatar 5:18am Jay/London:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20am Stanley:

Avatar 5:21am Sem Chumbo:

@jay/London: well said.
Avatar 5:22am Bill Mac:

Thanks E12, yeah that was a good one. I hope it inspires you to listen to someone play the squeezebox (underachiever that I am)
Avatar 5:23am Sem Chumbo:

Anybody else get a Levon Helm/Big Pink/Band vibe from this?
Avatar 5:24am Bill Mac:

@Jay, Haven't view it yet, I think I have the "making of Love" somewhere that I need to check out too. I'll check it out though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24am Stanley:

@ Andy - good to see that those people who liked the Slade movie also liked...des insectes et des hommes.
Avatar 5:24am Brian in UK:

I still miss hearing Rick Danko sing. Love that man's voice
Avatar 5:24am Bill Mac:

Avatar 5:46am e12:

I'll be in your city today Stanley, keep your eyes peeled for a suspicious looking young man.
Avatar 5:46am Brian in UK:

Over here Christmas at 1400 will be getting lubricated by then. I will have the McGasko icon lit up in the front room window.
Avatar 5:47am Brian in UK:

@e12 'eyes peeled' always makes me cringe that expression.
Avatar 5:47am Sem Chumbo:

I can see it now:there'll you'll be, Stanley, in your pith helmet---- Dr. Chumbo, I presume?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47am Stanley:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50am Stanley:

Here, have a bucket of Mama Naweelie's home brewed honey beer, Sem.
Avatar 5:51am Sem Chumbo:

Honey beer? I'll be getting a major buzz off of that. Sweet.
Avatar 5:51am Andy in Berlin:

It suddenly occurred to me that in ca 10 minutes it really will be Zero Hour. Yike!!
Avatar 5:52am Brian in UK:

Those flat English syllables.
Avatar 5:54am Sem Chumbo:

Well, Bill, at times like this I like to remember what my Dad used to say, " Whatever doesn't kill you costs a fortune in medical bills." Will keep track of you, no worries. And thanks, a lot.
Avatar 5:54am Bill Mac:

Yeah it's getting to be about that time I'm afraid. It's temporary, but I'll miss sitting with you guys for three hours a week. Keep them chins up and don't make me cry ok?
