Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm common:

  3:51pm djelrock:

Is this show going to be all about 70's psychedelia? 'Cause that would be pretty sweet! Ill get ready n smoke a bong of medicinal weed;)
  3:52pm LovecraftDude888:

I used to work with some cute chick that was like some Deadhead wife or GF...I think...used to boast about waking and baking every single bloody day. I was like...good Lord.
Avatar 3:55pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

god, this WSB bit is perfection.
Avatar 3:58pm Cheri Pi:

I once long ago bought a WSB spoken word box set, beautiful packaging. First day it was set out my German Shepherd gnawed the entire top half off, retribution?
Avatar 4:00pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

well he was definitely more in the "cat" camp...

  4:06pm LovecraftDude888:

Avatar 4:08pm glenn:

cats. they're the best.
  4:08pm Santos L Halper:

Didn't Kraftwerk get a Grammy or something recently?
Avatar 4:08pm Cheri Pi:

I finally own 2 cats that do not scratch on vinyl.
  4:09pm Vertical Suplex:

My son's review of the Goblin song:
"Is this Vampire Hands? I kind of like it. It sounds like Power Rangers Goosebumps. You hear that sound? It's a keyboard."
Avatar 4:10pm northguineahills:

After a late night dj'ing, I took an arm load of recs out of my case and dumped them upright against my closet before I went to work. Apparently, they slid down and became w/in arm's reach of my roommate's cat from under my door, from where she proceeded to shred most of the sleeves (and scratch a few recs). These included some Xenakis, Cage, and techno white labels amongst others.
Avatar 4:10pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

My first boxer blooded quite a few rare krauty CDs, bless him...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm Mike East:

I believe accidental murder.

Good one, Lou!
Avatar 4:17pm northguineahills:

I had my friend take me to the address where William Burroughs killed his wife in Mexico City. It's now a yuppie condo complex built in the last decade.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm Carmichael:

Now that Kraft has driven by, do I feel some Can on the way?
  4:18pm Lou:

@Mike East...yeah well when someone puts the ball on the tee...you'd be crazy not to swing

Avatar 4:25pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

@cheri 4:18 -- Understood. Fadela's first victim was the spalax reissue 2xCD of K.Schulze's "cyborg" which was stupidly expensive (naturally) -- she had taste, that dog.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm common:

@mike east: same here! creepy!
Avatar 4:26pm Sem Chumbo:

Alphaville: off and on Youtube like a phantom transmission from somewhere we can't get to and would be scared to go to if we could. Crazy good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm Stanley:

Saw Night of the Hunter at the cinema last night.
The scene of Shelley Winters at the bottom of the river is amazing.
Creepy gothic classic.
Avatar 4:26pm northguineahills:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm common:

i saw a great finnish film from the 40s the other night called "The White Reindeer". Great, except for some rough wrangling of some reindeer. made me cringe a bit.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm Carmichael:

Night of the Hunter was the 1st movie my wife ever went to as a kid without her parents.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm Carmichael:

I took a college course on Bergman's films. Really gave me a lesson in "stark".
Avatar 4:33pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

GAH, there it is, that tape-cut/loop background used in WSB's "curse go back" with the rattles & drums. Favorite sound ever. Could drink that for hours.
  4:37pm LovecraftDude888:

Carm...stark would be the word. Geesh! Some of those movies are just rough going.....but great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm Stanley:

@Carmichael - it only got a 12A certificate over here. Means kids under the age of twelve could see it, provided they were accompanied by a responsible adult.
It freaked the bejesus out of me and I'm well over twelve.
  4:40pm LovecraftDude888:

somehow NoftH is one of those films that's still disturbing after that many years! Rare...
Avatar 4:40pm InBrkly:

Just tuned in and thought it was Hearty White haha

Avatar 5:51pm kat330:

@Fabio: Per usual, an interesting hodgepodge of sounds this afternoon.
  5:52pm LovecraftDude888:

Philo....Burroughs was out there that's fo sho'. If u dug HPL read Machen...A. Machen...great old stuff. The White People etc. creepy weird tales of the Little People....etc. Robert Aickman I harp on constantly, too...such a genius subtle weird writer
Avatar 5:52pm Philo Gristle:

Big fan of Barrington Bayley, who gave Burroughs the idea of humans as a virus.
  5:53pm LovecraftDude888:

vis a viz Laurie Anderson she must be a massive fan...or friend of Burroughs's....."language is a virus" guess that's abundantly obvious

Avatar 5:59pm Philo Gristle:

With you on KING. And all of that is now available for free on kindle or whatever platform you have. I think the HPL Literary Society (who did the great Cthulhu film etc) did some HPL related music of some significance... haven't heard it, tho.
  6:01pm Mike:

Bob Marleys birthday too :)
  6:34pm djelrock:

When u r in the middle of it, nothing else matters. Not jobs, kids, parents, whether u ate or not; nothing matters. Only getting high, drunk, wasted. Until someone brings u out forcefully, it rarely goes away. The rehab authorities should be questioned. Why was he discharged?
