Options August 3, 2013: We'll Ask the Questions Around Here

Upcoming event:

Saturday, August 10th, 3am - 6am: Brother JT Live in WFMU's Love Room - Warm's the New Cool
John Terlesky (aka Brother JT) is an author, painter, talk show host, animator, and sometimes sports fan (depending on how his teams are doing), and has also been known to be a bit of a monster on guitar, releasing over 30 albums in as many years as a solo artist and also as part of the legendary Pennsylvania garage band The Original Sins. Groove-laden gospel psych with a touch of T Rex inspired pop for good measure, JT graces the WFMU stage with friends Jamie (drums), Ron (bass) and Mike (gtr) to play some of his classics and showcase his latest release, “The Svelteness of Boogietude”. Get ye healed as the JT4 rip through an hour of the hits, invoking the power of rawk with the sounds of the Sins to the present day. Take your trousers off and come to Church!

Avatar 3:11am w41:

And to get all the kids listening to empty those musical shops' shelves of the soprano saxes!
Avatar 3:19am Bill Mac:

Children also have the innate ability to clear large rooms of dirty hippies doing solos. Respect to the hippies of course.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22am davex:

Hey Bill - that's some interesting stuff!
  3:28am braingallop:

You always have to respect the hippies..they have sharp knives made from hemp and will strike without warning.
Avatar 3:30am Bill Mac:

Tanks Dave! Openings a bit different than usual.
@brain - they generally smoke em up before they inflict any bodily harm to anybody.

Avatar 4:04am Bill Mac:

Yeah, I'm excited. We've probably heard most of the songs here at least once, it'll be nice to hear them live.
Avatar 4:05am Brian in UK:

Hello Mr Mac (& Mrs Mac) What a spiffing day here it is. All the daughters home, dog walked, curries being prepared. Aint life grand.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05am Stanley:

Triptych - a most singular choice.
Its been an age since I last heard this.
Avatar 4:07am Brian in UK:

Hey Stanley can you get Chop sauce up your neck of the woods?
Thought Joe McGasko was on!!
Avatar 4:08am Bill Mac:

Never one of my favorite bands but they're pretty special and what a great pedigree of artists. Yo Brian! I take that as a compliment
Avatar 4:10am Brian in UK:

Sincerely meant, Bill.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12am Stanley:

Good morning Brian
No we cannot get Chop sauce. Have to go to Yorkshire for that culinary delicacy.
We have our own 'mystery' sauce that's slopped on a fish supper but I must admit I've avoided it so far.
Avatar 4:13am Steve R:

Hey, this is nice.
Avatar 4:18am Brian in UK:

The enemy within, like the bastard that stole our courgette flowers from the allotment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19am Stanley:

Avatar 4:51am Brian in UK:

There is an odd friends theme in the song titles emerging.
Avatar 4:55am Brian in UK:

Speaking of GP. Did anyone hear Kandia Crazy Horse's selections on Duane's show. It threw me.
Avatar 5:04am Jay/London:

hey Bill are you doing a comedy spot again this week if so something by the bonzos would get my vote
Avatar 5:16am Brian in UK:

Thanks for GP, Bill.

'cause my baby is as beautiful as a tourniquet.

Uncle Michael played Mr Slaters Parrot yesterday. I love how much this station looks to the east/west and is aware of a world outside it's borders.
Avatar 5:19am Bill Mac:

Brian - I don't think you can do a good show unless you're including everything
Avatar 5:36am Brian in UK:

Hints of Jorma Kaukonen here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38am Stanley:

@Brian - is that a type of coffee I haven't tried yet?
