Options August 10, 2013: Brother JT Live in WFMU's Love Room - Warm's the New Cool

John Terlesky (aka Brother JT) is an author, painter, talk show host, animator, and sometimes sports fan (depending on how his teams are doing), and has also been known to be a bit of a monster on guitar, releasing over 30 albums in as many years as a solo artist and also as part of the legendary Pennsylvania garage band The Original Sins. Groove-laden gospel psych with a touch of T Rex inspired pop for good measure, JT graces the WFMU stage with friends Jamie (drums), Ron (bass) and Mike (gtr) to play some of his classics and showcase his latest release, “The Svelteness of Boogietude”. Get ye healed as the JT4 rip through an hour of the hits, invoking the power of rawk with the sounds of the Sins to the present day. Take your trousers off and come to Church!

Avatar 4:17am Bill Mac:

BTW kudos to the Missus for making the page look purdy. I don't have eight arms and at this time of the day I can really just breathe and face forward.... I wish I had eight arms... they'd come in handy.
Avatar 4:17am Andy in Berlin:

@ Brian - I find people I don't know for a living :)
Avatar 4:18am T-Zero:

@Brian: I'll see if I can find it somewhere to give a listen. I bookmarked it so I won't forget. Heh!

Avatar 4:30am Brian in UK:

Just off to buy some endive, cheap this time of year.
Avatar 4:30am Andy in Berlin:

@ Brian - it took me 5 minutes to get that one. In my defense, in American English, the word 'mac' is usually only used to refer to Bill.

Avatar 4:31am Bill Mac:

too thinkI was living in the US and hip to the Bonzos before I knew who Monty Python was. Both on equal footing funnywise.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31am Stanley:

@Brian - watch out for that punk that keeps stopping you in the street.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...a Mac is this thing I'm getting FMU on...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...w/ wrap-around screens - it could soon be a long coat as well...
Avatar 4:35am Andy in Berlin:

I found out about the Bonzos from Magical Mystery Tour which was some years before Monty Python arrived in the US. I also knew them from "The Intro And The Outro" - without knowing who they were - because that was used as the theme for weekly broadcasts of The Goon Show on the radio in Boston when I lived there. That being said, when I first heard You Know My Name by The Beatles, my first thought was that it was the Bonzos
Avatar 4:35am Bill Mac:

I usually have to review the comments after the show - especially Brians. He speaks in tongues sometimes.
Avatar 4:36am Brian in UK:

Avatar 4:38am Brian in UK:

Thanks Bill. Bye the way over here the friendly term of Derek is Dell as in 'Only Fools and Horses'.
Avatar 4:40am Bill Mac:

See, that's what I'm talking about!
Avatar 4:41am Andy in Berlin:

@ Bill -My feeling is, that it's all fine as long as the explanation is not longer than the joke
Avatar 4:42am Andy in Berlin:

....or shall we say TOO much longer
Avatar 4:42am Bill Mac:

Unless it's funnier than the joke.
Avatar 4:43am Andy in Berlin:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:
