I was just about to ask Chris where his icon comes from.
Avatar 4:08pm Chris from DC:

Zardoz may have mispoken. Was that Sachiko M?
Avatar 4:10pm Cecile:

yes they do.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm tim from champaign:

Clay took a leak in the studio?
Avatar 4:15pm Chris from DC:

dcp, just searched for images and picked one I liked. Not sure specifically at this point.
Avatar 4:18pm Cecile:

I just found out the Fleet Foxes are popular with the youth. Should I be checking them out?
  4:19pm dale:

zardoz head was always shooting his mouth off
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm tim from champaign:

Cecile - NO! Unless you dig middle of the road soft rock with CSN harmonies.
Avatar 4:26pm Cecile:

oh, hell no.
Avatar 4:28pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I love THE HELL out of this show. [takes a heroic swig of ale & begins sobbing... those terrible, heaving sobs that seem rooted in some primal, cellular trauma] ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm tim from champaign:

Fleet Foxes is the type of music that people who get spoofed on Portlandia like.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm Uncle Michael:

I'd rather watch a show that spoofs people that like Endless Boogie.
Avatar 4:32pm dc pat:

ok, I gotta go...I can't fake working anymore today...bye kids, Fab.
Avatar 4:34pm Chris from DC:

Well said DCP.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm tim from champaign:

That would be a good one too, Uncle Michael. I have a self-deprecating sense of humor.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm Carmichael:

Are you drinking beer again, Rev? I shall join you when the firkin is tapped in 3 hours.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm Uncle Michael:

Well, there ya go.
Avatar 4:37pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Alas no, Carm: just a view of the cartoon fantasy life inside my skull. But there's a small stash at home. And it is DOOMED.
Avatar 4:37pm Cecile:

pronounced "cruel", I'd bet. It's an old spelling of that and also a variant of crewel embroidery.
  4:39pm dax:

I think I missed a good set will catch up with the weeks worth material
Avatar 4:40pm still b/p:

Virgin Spring plot cadged for Last House on the Left and its remake.

I know what Cecile's avatar image really is, but in miniature it keeps looking like a tomato and leaves to my perception/recognition circuits.
  4:40pm the Owl:

What's wrong with Endless Boogie? It's Captain Beefheart's best album (Mirror Man) writ large.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41pm Uncle Michael:

I don't know. What's wrong with Endless Boogie?
Avatar 4:51pm Cecile:

I think most people on here think that Endless Boogie is a'OK.
Avatar 4:55pm northguineahills:

and that's a bad thing? I remember friends arguing that Stereolab's" Transient Random Noise Bursts W/ Random Announcements" was nothing more then Neu!'s "Hallogallo" expanded to a whole album.
Avatar 4:55pm Cheri Pi:

Cecile-NO on the Fleetfoxes, YES CLICKYSTARS for E.Boogie. My 68 yr old mom told me yesterday that she heard a great band on NPR called Vampire Weekend btw... she expected me to chide her but I said-go checkem out! With a straight face.
  4:57pm blee:

I'm more of a trout mask replica man myself. The newly released bat chain puller is mighty fine too. So is safe as milk.
And how about .........

Anyhow, digging the music Fabio.

Beware the Fleet Foxes, if you listen to them, you will instantly sprout a headband, ironic beard
Avatar 4:58pm Cheri Pi:

I wonder if my mom will start wearing hipster prescription-sunglasses?
  4:58pm blee:

and maxed out starbucks credit cards.
Avatar 4:58pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

heh... Vampire FleetWeek Foxend. All are names I've heard, but couldn't identify any of 'em in a police lineup. Do they sound like Foreigner?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm Mutant:

I think the confusion is over the band Endless Boogie vs. the album
  4:59pm blee:

Oh shit, presription sunglasses are hipster now? NOOOOOO
Avatar 4:59pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I do hope they sound like Foreigner.
  5:04pm blee:

Oh man these 2 sax tracks are .... whoa nelly.
  5:07pm blee:

Or 3 tracks
Avatar 5:08pm northguineahills:

I hear a thread in this thread.
Avatar 5:09pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

bat chain clicker...
Avatar 5:13pm Chris from DC:

Never heard these Fleet Vampires or whatever.
Avatar 5:14pm northguineahills:

I prefer sleek vamps.
Avatar 5:17pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

flesh flood? what?
  5:19pm the Owl:

Yes, way back, I was referring to Endless Boogie the band, not the album. Really enjoyed the Love Cry Want. I wish fusion jazz was still a thing. I mean, it probably is, but you don't hear much of it.
Avatar 5:23pm northguineahills:

@the Owl: I agree on all accounts about your statement on fusion jazz. One notable exception is Rob Mazurek's projects border on fusion jazz and are listenable (Chicago/Sao Pablo Underground etc)
Avatar 5:24pm Cecile:

ken vandermark's organ-based stuff is pretty funky and good too.
Avatar 5:24pm northguineahills:

Don't get to hear much from Alvin Curran.
Avatar 5:37pm Cheri Pi:

bring back Fusion Jazz.
Avatar 5:39pm Cheri Pi:

Fission Jazz should be a thing.
Avatar 5:40pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

diffusion jazz would be a natural.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm Ike:

Vampire Weekend is awful. Not like Foreigner at all. Bad carbon copy of Neil What's-His-Face's "Graceland" but more smug. I say put them and their stupid beards into a fission chamber.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm tim from champaign:

Sun Ra has a Fission Jazz song called "Nuclear War".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm tim from champaign:

I like to refer to Fusion Jazz as Jazz Brunch jazz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Ike:

Fleet Foxes is not anywhere near as bad as VW and some of their CSN rip-off harmonies are quite well-made if you like that sort of thing. Very mild and overly harmless, but not too smug.
Avatar 5:45pm Loren:

Great track... Brian Chase?
  5:48pm nic:

double sleep is great!!!!!!!! love it
Avatar 5:49pm Loren:

brilliant transition... it really doesn't matter who it is when Fabio is on the wheels of titanium alloy... sweet some classic jamz... perfect afternoon set!
Avatar 5:51pm sFrances from VA:

"Love is not loving" , I picked the perfect time to tune in!
  5:51pm Night Al:

Mick Ronson on guitar?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Stanley:

  5:53pm nic:

bowie is so bad
  5:53pm Night Al:

Been watching Ray Manzarek videos on Youtube all week... and Doors.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Matt from Springfield:

FXO Frank?
HI Fab, and Clay, and possibly FXO, and everyone!
  5:56pm Night Al:

Riders On The Storm...an actor out alone.
Avatar 5:56pm sFrances from VA:

i hate the Doors.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Matt from Springfield:

You two had better pick up the chemistry! And bring JULIE back on a full Triumvirate! The new combo of AP Mike, amEdeo and Therese is threatening to RIVAL you all! ;)
Avatar 5:57pm Cheri Pi:

I like the Doors.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Morrison was not somebody you woulda generally wanted to spend quality time w/ (Fabio point)
- but he was our Shaman
- if you define that as somebody who guided you thru things & places & parts of yourself that other people like Parents & parts of Society would not & did not. (Clay's position.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm Matt from Springfield:

Missing Gene 54-Y, named after Aldous Huxley's year 1954 book The Doors of Perception, for which The Doors were named :)
Avatar 5:58pm Cheri Pi:

I like Skynard too. I have "the pen"
  5:58pm Night Al:

If you were a young person and saw the Doors while on acid and weed, you would have been a fan.
Avatar 5:58pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I'm siding more with Fabio on this one -- Never had an opinion on the Doors one way or the other. My ambivalence runs deep. I don't diss 'em, but I don't play 'em either.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm Matt from Springfield:

Whoa, WHOA NOW!! Can't you two just get along! Don't do something you'll regret!!!! :)
Hiya Frances and Cheri!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00pm Matt from Springfield:

"I thought that story was better than it was."
Ha! Yogi Berr-esque/Ralph Wiggumesque wisdom right there!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Morrison: Easily among the best Writers, best Singers, *&* Best Performers - & that's *before* considering the Doors as Band...
  6:01pm the Owl:

Yeah, I think Jim Morrison is an insufferable prick, but it's sort of weird to me how much people hate the Doors. They have some decent songs, like Peace Frog, the song with the most inverse ratio ever of title to rockingness.
