I always would wash my hands as soon as I dropped my bag at my desk. I think most of the time the lack of sleep and partying to relieve the stress of 70 hour weeks had more to do w/ my susceptibility to illness.

Now that I teach totally online, the students dont get me sick any more like they used to like clockwork, and I wasnt even getting to hang out as bars as part of the bargain, like they were.

This year, I had to catch it getting coffee in a Starbucks last February.

When I get sick, I used to tried to take it easy, but it just made things worse. Going out and drinking w/ my friends, usually cured things right up. It's like my body went into shock for trying to be healthy.

Yep, time and tide wait for no man. Time and tide were the same word with different endings originally. People started using tide for the timed rhythm of ocean rise and fall, and left time for the other meaning. But in an old phrase like "good tidings," you can see "tide" originally meant "time."

Tide is the same as German Zeit (time). Leisure in German is Freizeit.
