Listener comments!

  3:09am Martyn:

Good morning Bill and all.
Visiting the big city last weekend so missed the show. The archives proved their worth.
  3:11am Jay/ London:

Hey Hey its Saturday ... the expanding universe .. unseen worlds .. could be some kind of joke there but too early to see it ... did you see in the news they found a planet mosty made of diamonds no how odd is that .. and hey good morning Bill and Martyn
  3:12am Brian in UK:

Hello Bill. Good time in the urban sprawl, Martyn?
Avatar 3:13am Bill Mac:

The dudes are in early today! Howsit going? hey Mart, missed you last week.
  3:16am Martyn:

Very good thanks Brian. Retail therapy for Mrs H. me just wandering about in a daze.
Avatar 3:17am Bill Mac:

Jay, I did see that! They put a dollar figure of a number with 30 zeroes behind it. Quite a chunk of change huh? think of all the gum you could buy with that.
  3:17am Jay/ London:

OK Bill now who or what is POP not the music me thinks !
  3:19am Jay/ London:

hey i don't do gum but would love to see that planet wow !!!
Avatar 3:22am Bill Mac:

How do they know it's made of diamond though?
  3:24am Jay/ London:

guess there must have ways .. will have to ask NASA ... at some point
Avatar 3:25am Bill Mac:

Oh yeah, Pop would be my Dad. I was driving in tonight and remembering that it's been 9 years to the day since he passed. So I just wanted to give him a cosmic whats up and play him a couple of things he would've liked. Don't know how much he would've dug the show, or that I'm not getting paid for it!
  3:26am Brian in UK:

Do you know what Nookie is over here Bill?
Avatar 3:26am Bill Mac:

Isn't it sex?
  3:27am Brian in UK:

You bet.
What was your old mans name if you do not mind me asking?
  3:27am Martyn:

Shifty Adventures indeed!
  3:29am Jay/ London:

That's a lovely thing to do for your pop .. I am sure he is tuned in to the show Bill
Avatar 3:32am Bill Mac:

Hah! If you want to hear the real tribute to him go back to my December 8, 2003 show (wfmu.org...). I bought all of his records in here and played them on the air. It was pretty excellent and moving if I do say so myself!
  3:33am Looms:

Good morning everyone!
Avatar 3:34am Bill Mac:

Looms! Happy Saturday!
  3:35am Bill Mac:

Thanks to Patrick from VT, Andrew from NJ, KP from NY for your donations. Also wanna thank Jay, Brian, and Looms for last weeks pledges.
  3:36am Martyn:

I'll listen to that show Bill, after this one. Some amazing photos there.
  3:40am T-Zero:

Heh! The *really* cool kids, always come late...
  3:41am T-Zero:

[waves at the pc]
  3:42am Jay/ London:

Scotland yard is the HQ of the Police here in London Bill
  3:43am Jay/ London:

hi T-Zero "waves back at PC"
  3:44am T-Zero:

It's called Scotland Yard because the public entrance was from the street named Great Scotland Yard... at least that's what wiki says...

Hi, Jay :D
  3:44am Brian in UK:

FAT Albert yeah.
Avatar 3:44am Bill Mac:

We need Skype
  3:46am Jay/ London:

@ t- zero it moved some years ago but they kept the name
  3:47am Jay/ London:

I have skype
  3:47am Andy in Berlin:

I never heard this one but I love his story about being home alone flipping out listening to Inner Sanctum
  3:47am T-Zero:

... Scotland Yard... kind of like how Wall Street (the stock exchange/financial area) came to be called Wall Street

@Jay: Heh... Yeah, now it's called New Scotland Yard ...
Avatar 3:48am Bill Mac:

Hey Andy & T!
Yeah, Inner Sanctum! I cut my teeth on this stuff.
Avatar 3:51am Bill Mac:

Figgers you have Skype Jay. BTW I have an idea of what you look like now, thanks to your avatar. That is you right?
  3:56am Jay/ London:

where did you see my avatar bill ? skype ??? or where
Avatar 3:58am Bill Mac:

I think it appeared on the email you sent me.
  3:58am Jay/ London:

@ t-Zero it's now moved to st james park right by the underground station
  4:01am Jay/ London:

oh yeah i forgot it is all kinda connected on the internet now Bill
  4:02am Stanley:

Yo Bro'.
  4:03am Looms:

It's never too late for discovering Exuma.

Oops! What happened with the comments board?
  4:03am Looms:

Ah! it's back :)
  4:06am Martyn:

Great philosophy Bill.
Avatar 4:08am Bill Mac:

I thought so too Martyn!
  4:10am Brian in UK:

Cosby is a monologist not a joke teller. That's my kind of humour too. Lord Buckley, Joyce Grenville, George W Bush you get my drift!
Avatar 4:11am Bill Mac:

I'll hafta check out that Bushie guy...
  4:11am Andy in Berlin:

I think it's true that you don't play enough comedy.
  4:12am KP:

Hey Bill, sorry im late.
Avatar 4:13am Bill Mac:

KP, thanks for coming by man! BTW thanks for the spot!
  4:13am Stanley:

Hi Bill and everyone.
Like Martyn I was in the big city last Saturday (Glasgow to be precise) so couldn't tune in. Caught up with the archives - great rocking Brother JT track.
Avatar 4:13am Bill Mac:

Andy, duly noted... will have to make sure I do in the future
Avatar 4:15am Bill Mac:

Always glad you like the JT stuff, Stanley.
  4:16am Andy in Berlin:

thanks! By the way, that Ice Cream thing sort of scared me. I've had a few occasions where my player crashed and went into an eternal loop and I thought that's what was happening
  4:17am Brian in UK:

Good time, Stanley?
Bill do you have a naughty chair for those who do not post their excuses for non appearance beforehand. Forfeit, PLEDGE IT.
  4:20am Jay/ London:

is brother JT on your list today Bill ?
  4:20am KP:

No problem. you are ahead of everybody i follow and by far. I guess being the most interesting man in the world has it perks.
Avatar 4:22am Bill Mac:

@Brian No, but I like do enjoy the implication that I might be wielding some kind of power here. I haven't mentioned lately that I don't know what the heck I'm doing?
Avatar 4:23am Bill Mac:

@Andy Sorry about that! I though you might be talking about an irrational fear, like a plane crash. Then I saw player - I get it - I'd be scared too!
Avatar 4:24am Bill Mac:

@KP Yeah that's me all right - most interesting man awake on the air in Jersey City anyway.
  4:26am KP:

Quite a title.
Avatar 4:28am Bill Mac:

I try to live up to it
  4:33am Jay/ London:

thanks bill :) Brother JT!
  4:38am Jay/ London:

great T Rex Track
  4:39am KP:

Pledge. Pledge. Pledge. Pledge. Pledge. Pledge. Pledge. Pledge.
Avatar 4:39am Bill Mac:

Hope you like the Jeff Lynne track - it's new!
  4:42am Looms:

Really nice cover of Charles Trenet, made the sun come back here :)
  4:43am Brian in UK:

I liked the old Jeff Lynne ie The Idle Race. See that you played Lord Buckley on that fateful day nine years ago. Your playlists are still cooking.
  4:46am KP:

That was Jeff Lynne!
Avatar 4:49am Bill Mac:

Thanks Gents. I played Buckley on October 13th? That's probably what got him!
  4:49am KP:

Sensations Fix is sensational!
Avatar 4:49am Bill Mac:

That was indeed Jeff Lynne. The whole album is covers
  4:50am Jay/ London:

Yes KP PLEDGE we are up to 76%
  4:50am KP:

Love covers records.
  4:53am Looms:

I've just read that Lynne did a Charlie Chaplin cover on this album!?! Look forward to hearing it.
  4:55am Jay/ London:

@ Looms yes he did Smile think I will go buy it today
  4:58am Jay/ London:

think it's been over 20 years since jeff Lynne's last album
  4:59am Looms:

Bill, you're the best!!!
  4:59am Jay/ London:

oh smile jeff Lynne !
Avatar 5:00am Bill Mac:

@Jay Hasn't he done other projects since then. BTW, I like your avatar pic - very cool
Avatar 5:00am Bill Mac:

I gotta tell you, Pop woulda loved this
  5:00am Brian in UK:

As a side track, is anyone as shocked as me at the depth of Lance Armstrongs cheating?
  5:02am Jay/ London:

yes he has with other people but not his own album .. thanks i like my picture too :)
  5:06am T-Zero:

@Brian... yeah. I've not really been keeping up with it, but it's pretty sad
  5:06am Looms:

I confess I'm a Chaplin fanatic too, his films still make our "spoiled and bored" youngsters laugh.
  5:12am Stanley:

I'm back. The Mrs and I are staying at a hotel in Pitlochry and we've just been to breakfast. Fantastic, I've just eaten enough for three men and can hardly move.
  5:12am Brian in UK:

Cannot put it off gotta walk the dog.
Avatar 5:13am Bill Mac:

You may be excused, Brian
  5:13am Brian in UK:

Hey Stanley Creosote. Good morning.
  5:14am Brian in UK:

Thanks boss.
Avatar 5:15am Bill Mac:

Just one bite, Stanley... it's waffer thin...
  5:17am Mrs Stanley:

Please note we are on a minibreak in the Highlands - Stanley insisted we bought the computer to catch Bill's show. It's as if you are all here w us!
Avatar 5:19am Bill Mac:

All of a sudden I feel like a third wheel and I'm playing my music too loud. Hi Mrs Stanley!
  5:21am Mrs Stanley:

Hi Bill, hi everyone. I'm always here in the background!
Avatar 5:23am Bill Mac:

We'll have to make sure you're properly greeted when Stanley clocks in
  5:40am Stanley:

Great film, great story. Actually, I think he could have been massive if he had the breaks and wasn't ripped off by his record company.I'm very fortunate to have tickets to see him in November.
Avatar 5:42am Bill Mac:

That's incredible Stanley! You gotta give us the lowdown when you get back from that show
  5:46am Looms:

Apparently the Sugar Man documentary was screaned in France but I missed it. Does anyone know if a DVD is to be released?
Avatar 5:48am Bill Mac:

I would think it that you'd be able to get it soon.
  5:49am Emile:

Arriving just in time to get in a last comment... Oh well there's always the archives...
  5:50am KP:

Heading West tomorrow Bill to claim my rightful place in Haight Ashbury. Can i get you anything?
  5:51am Looms:

Believe it or not, I've never heard this song by F Hardy before, sounds fantastic, great lyrics. Thanks!
Avatar 5:51am Bill Mac:

Hey Emile... better late....
  5:52am T-Zero:

@Looms: It's out on a DVD. THey have it on Amazon among other places

  5:54am T-Zero:

Oh. And I think that's only for the US and Canada... So, I was no help. Sorry!

Avatar 5:56am Bill Mac:

  5:57am Stanley:

Looms - Amazon has it out on 19/11//12
  5:57am Looms:

  5:58am Looms:

Stanley, thanks too.
  5:58am Stanley:
