What did you buy?
  10:03am Mike East:

Generation Records - Spacemen 3- "Transparent Radiation", and 2 Firesign Theatre Records - "Don't Crush That Dwarf Hand Me The Pliers" and "Waiting For the Electrician or Someone Like Him" which is "their first appearance on Vinyl" and the only album that its spelled "TheatER"
  10:07am erella:

  10:26am clarke:

just checkin' in, briefly - gotta head out, but enjoyed the part of the show i listened to!! records on RSD: Pete Townshend "Quad Demos" 10-inch, Petite 7-inch, Robert Pollard "Mouseman Cloud" (really good!), Richard Thompson "Live, More Or Less" (used - amazing!), Joe Tex "Live" (used), and a handful of maxell blank cassettes - at Booksmith/Musicsmith in Orleans, MA (okay, gave away my secret source, there).
  10:28am Mike East:

clean 'em out, clarke! Those blank cassettes are gold!
  10:29am tomB:

This, my 3rd yr, as usual waiting till noon to miss the lines, I began w RebelRebel, Bleecker, & Generation, where I spoke w Joe Belock waiting to DJ. Discovered a buzz-in shop on Jones, already o/o RSD stock on RSD. The mid-day Vinyl Appreciation Meet-up offerred previews & warnings about long lines at Other, which 2.5 hrs later was still too long. Ran into Kurt G at the shop a block below Other. The shop next to Kim's passed rumors that Norman's was moving to Wmsburg this summer &that Rocket Science would be closing at end of the month. The latter was o/o RSD stock when I'd passed by enroute to Kim's and looked a bit sparse as well. Academy was great &then another party.
I saved J&R for Monday afternoon
  10:30am Todd in Miami:

Crazy Rhythms! I also picked up some of those jazz '45s that Joe got from some warehouse in Newark -- he said they would've tossed them in the garbage. And they were 25 cents each, I was amazed when I saw them in the racks. Got one Dexter and two Stitts in the "New Trends in Jazz" picture sleeves, also three by Bird (also Savoy) and a Diz on dee gee. I worked a few blocks away at The Aquarian Weekly back in 79-80, so Crazy Rhythms took a nice bite oout of my paycheck.
  10:45am Hugh:

'Morning Bob,
Been listening, all morning, Just got to the keyboard--Leroy Anderson--perfect sound of a generation, when almost everyone knew the tunes. Even the kids & the parents could, at least tolerate these clever arrangments. I played in the school band, sax, & we played every Anderson tune published. Always tugs at the memories. One never hears these gems, except when you play 'em!
  10:51am leshwatt:

Dig that Pete Donnelly
