Listener comments!

  11:12am angela:

love the show because I do not love nick lowe...I want to understand, so hit me!
...I am always perplexed when FMU DJs play & praise lowe but I am hanging in there- bec you are providing the info & FUN! Thanks!
p.s. I always brushed him off as a guy thing...am girl...am in the mood to see it another way...happy you're here this beautiful Sat spring morning.
  11:13am Marc Grobman:

Hi Mike, I'm sure I'll enjoy your show, since I did last week!

Odd thing about that Nick Lowe "Here Comes that Girl Again" you played: the lyrics & melody seem like a slowed-down version of Eddie Cochran's "Somethin' Else," from 1959-62 or so. Eddie's version even starts, after a sort of spoken intro: "Here comes that girl again!"

Take it slow (about 45 rpm), and maybe see you at the Record Riot show tomorrow in Brooklyn. Marc Grobman
  11:16am kat330:

@angela: ok, I'll bite. Also a female and love Lowe. I came to him backwards though, through Elvis Costello. Do you like Costello?
  11:24am Andrew Waterloo:

Good morning
  11:28am lane:

good morning!
  11:32am Andrew Waterloo:

I am kind of surprised to see massive line-ups for Record Store day online.
  11:33am Bob:

Nick Lowe is my all time favorite artist. And I love females too.
  11:38am Bad Ronald:

Basher!!! Thanks Nick and Mike!
  11:54am ?:

There you go. A "female" thing, rock'n'ROLL.
  12:16pm angela:

yes like Costello a lot,
Am into this show and hearing Lowe talk now.

  12:21pm Peter K.:

Michael, this interview is absolutely amazing.
  12:23pm Bad Ronald:

Class act all the way.
  12:23pm Myron Feld:

Great work, Mike!
  12:24pm Brian in UK:

Very good interview with Basher, Michael.
  12:27pm blurry:

like a rock & roll history lesson
  12:30pm mrmucho:

A+, Mike! that was surely one of your best interviews.
  12:31pm seang:

that's good
12:42pm David from NJ in ATL:

Another album from GP&TR? That's nice!
  12:42pm calzone!:

Great job, Michael! Hard to top that one!
  12:43pm Red:

another incredible interview by MS. Congrats on a homerun.
  12:43pm Joe R.:

Great interview! Just saw him a few nights ago here in Milwaukee, fantastic show. I won't spoil the surprise (Google for set lists if you're interested) but he threw in a '60s R&B cover that I really hope he records.
  12:46pm Bad Ronald:

Kudos Michael! Do you have any Little Village handy?
12:53pm David from NJ in ATL:

This song proves how great Rockpile was.
  12:55pm drewo:

Thanks Michael for the interview and music. Had the pleasure of seeing Rockpile around '79 at the Palladium. I think I went to that show with Jeremy T.
  12:57pm MK:

Brilliant interview, Michael. Nick sounds like he was genuinely enjoying himself.
  1:00pm Elias:

Your new goal can be to interview J.R.R. Tolkien about "Band of Gold".
  6:57am Robbie:

Thanks for two great shows in a row featuring Nick Lowe (and thanks for interviewing Linda Ramone - I had just read Johnny's book, and it is typical Johnny, if you know what I mean).

Ian Gomm (co-writer of "Cruel To Be Kind" has some great records too - especially his first LP.
