Listener comments!

  11:05am dave:

congrats on scoring nick lowe for the show!
  11:07am green dragoon:

So it Goes --- I'm getting late 70's sitting in dead stopped Garden State Parkway traffic in my uncle's Dodge Duster goin' 'down the shore'
  11:09am tim from Champaign:

Will you ask Obama where my goddam check is for me?
11:10am David in ATL from NJ:

Michael, you've outdone yourself. Thanks for landing Mr. Lowe.
  11:10am SteveL:

Always wondered how much hearing Mr. Lowe had left after surviving Rat Scabies' cymbals assault on Damned Damned Damned. Great album, great production. You hear everything.
  11:11am Zev:

I wanna know about the green Joker suit! (I guess it's too late, but I sure hope you asked him about it.)
  11:16am Connie T. Empress:

I love this song!!
  11:21am Jay/London:

good afternoon Michael just checking in
  11:21am Philo Gristle:

Great set so far. My intro to Nick's work was thru Live Stiffs with Nick, Wreckless Eric, Ian Dury, Elvis and Larry Wallis. What happened to Larry? He was great... on that one single.
  11:22am will:

Nick wrote the greatest rock and roll song of all time. Of course that would be "What's So Funny about Peace Love and Understanding." I give thanks.
  11:24am Ian R:

I think Doug Yule sings on Who Loves the Sun and other tuneful VU tracks like Candy Says. But yes...Lou barely tries anymore. I saw some live footage of him doing White Light/White Heat with Metallica that was truly shameful.
  11:25am A:

Didn't Doug Yule sing lead on Who Loves the Sun?
Avatar 11:27am Michael Shelley:

I, obviously, have no idea.
  11:27am Zev:

Please play "Let's Eat"
  11:31am Connie T. Empress:

The best: my computer is literally stuck FIXATED on this page so I cannot move away from this page! ALL pay homage to Nick n Mike!
  11:40am Brian in UK:

Michael, top job having Nick Lowe. Got Shelley, My Love lined up?
  11:40am kat330:

Just heard -- on the phone live! Cool.
  11:41am kat330:

@Brian: You remembered! :) I second that request.
  11:42am pierre:

Bonjour Michael Shelly ! France (Paris) checking in !
Bonjour listeners !
  11:43am kat330:

16 tons!
  11:43am Peter:

Great start-off question, Michael!
  11:56am kat330:

Thank you, Michael and Nick!
  11:57am Philo Gristle:

Wonderful interview, thanks very much!
  11:57am boo bear:

"passed the audition...." BBC.. Lennon even funnier than I thought!
  11:59am Connie T. Empress:

Sensitive Man...so great! Like the interview
  11:59am Brian in UK:

He is so down to earth.
  12:00pm Brian in UK:

A bold move to cover 'Never My Love'
  12:32pm Connie T. Empress:

Lately this has been a mainstay of my playlist when out playing: just Love Laura Lee and this has some great hooks. BTW, Nick Lowe once said the last great bass line written was in Mr. Big Stuff. ALL NUMBER 1 hits!! Keep em coming!
  12:46pm kat330:

Well, shucks, apparently "Shelley, My Love" is to be "Never My Love," Brian. At least today, here and now. There's always next week. ;}
  12:51pm ChooChoo - ATL:

"Le Jeu Du Telephone": Is that the current Mrs. Don Draper?
  12:28pm Peter:

Above and Beyond (The Call of Love)

That Conway Twitty version of Above and Beyond doesn't appear on Wiki, either in a title search or a Twitty discography search.

Congratulations, Michael. I'll confess my first impulse was to check which of Twitty's or Owens' versions was earlier, so I rushed to Wiki.

So if the Twitty version was a '70s retro thing on a Nashville afternoon, I can't hear production decades very well.
  6:42pm Dano:

Tirolean Tape - great discovery!
