  3:04pm BSI:

DAMN..... holmes is all SHUT UP and whatnot.
  3:07pm bruceleh:

awesome surface noise!
  3:07pm miss cheri:

hiya kurt,,,good afternoon!
  3:07pm kat330:

What does MN Jeff's work today bring to mind? Discuss.
  3:07pm http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

Damn, why did you change it? You got my hopes up man.
  3:09pm kiemzi:

kat330: jellybean gummibear christmas tree? is this a test?
  3:09pm Cecile:

miss cheri, did you used to be cheri pi?
  3:10pm steve:

that start got me hoping for a shangrilas chop up mess... might have to make that myself
  3:10pm kat330:

@kiemzi: Yes, it is. I see stars.
  3:11pm BSI:

The face of Sigmund Freud in a dirty fishtank.
  3:11pm kat330:

Greetings, Kurt and kind folk, btw!
  3:11pm miss cheri:

no cecile,,i always been "MISS CHERI"
Avatar 3:12pm DJ KG:

steve - make it! i'll play it!

hi everyone!
  3:12pm kat330:

@BSI: I think we'll need to see you twice each week.
  3:13pm ?:

The gif is a pic taken by the Hubble telescope as interpreted by the people who draw My Little Pony.
  3:13pm BSI:

Totally Freud.
  3:14pm kat330:

I dunno, kinda reminds me of some blobbish, nebbisher dingus from a Star Trek episode.
  3:15pm Caryn:

The gif obviously mesmerised me so that I forgot to put my name on my comment... Damn those My Little Pony artists!
  3:15pm steve:

i bet a horribly scratched up shangri-las cd would still sound great!!
kurt - after i wrote that i knew i would have to do it! i'll keep you posted.
  3:15pm miss cheri:

kg,,i know i'm going off topic,,but have you ever seen "friends with benefits"?
  3:15pm kat330:

@BSI: I'm a Jungian myself. The pastels do suggest the universe is a 3-ring circus made of cotton candy.
  3:16pm Cecile:

they are fireflies in Telebubbyland.
  3:16pm miss cheri:

hello caryn,,
  3:16pm kat330:

Miss Cheri, are you getting paid each time you type in that title?
  3:16pm Cecile:

oh, ok, thanks miss cheri.
  3:17pm BodegaMan:

I thought the .gif was a scan of Kurt's brainwaves - the red spots are where a song name pops up. The green is him scratching his head.
  3:18pm Ike:

@Cecile@3:09, world of difference: Cheri Pi is hard-rocking and seems intelligent and generally on-topic. Also, Cheri Pi is not obsessed with Mila Kunis and does not abuse commas.
  3:18pm kat330:

@Cecile: Whether typo or not, I like "TeleBubbyland"! :)
Avatar 3:18pm DJ KG:

steve - can you have it by the 4/13 all covers show?
cheri, no.
  3:19pm kiemzi:

this gif is really pleasant. i think i'll get it tattooed on the inside of my eyelids.
  3:19pm miss cheri:

caryn do you the starz channel?
  3:20pm Cecile:

I know, Ike, but you never know.
bah, Teletubbyland. It is lovely.

The Starz channel sucks.
  3:20pm kiemzi:

with the motion, of course.
  3:21pm http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

People still watch TV in 2012?
Avatar 3:21pm DJ KG:

every time i scratch my head my brain turns green.
  3:21pm miss cheri:

kg wonderful show so far.
  3:22pm Caryn:

I keep wondering whether Cheri is a) trolling, b) on the studio payroll trying some guerilla promotion, c) going to go all Hinckley on the president to prove something to Kunis or d) doing this all as an art project.
And nope, we don't have Starz channel here at all.
  3:23pm kat330:

  3:24pm steve:

kurt, i can definitely have it by then. i built this machine that sequences power to portable suitcase turntables... gonna hit up some friends for more S-Ls vinyl and make a warped live collage and record it live. it'll be awesome.
Avatar 3:24pm DJ KG:

steve: YAY!
  3:25pm Parq:

Caryn, how can you say that? Cheri's our little sister! Heck, she was going to volunteer during marathon but her mom wouldn't let her stay out late on a school night.
  3:25pm kat330:

Automatic, eternal thanks for almost any track played off "Shoot Out the Lights" -- Kiitos, Kurt!
  3:27pm miss cheri:

caryn you know you should buy the movie,, i think you would love it!
  3:27pm Mr Donut:

My God ... it's full of blobs
  3:28pm Caryn:

Cheri, I like the movie. I'm just going to wait for it to be on sale to buy it.

@Mr Donut: heh!
  3:29pm kiemzi:

kurt, try talking into it
  3:30pm kiemzi:

just kidding!!!!!! gulp!!!!!!
  3:31pm kat330:

Next week? I thought it was in April. Oh, poop. Wanted to party next Friday...
  3:32pm http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

Yappity Yap Yap... kick out the jams, motherfucker
  3:33pm Cecile:

Welcome to Troll Acres, a planned community.
  3:33pm steve:

omg that cover band sounds hilarious
  3:34pm Carmichael:

Hi DJKG and friends. Back from lunch and ready to ... uh, whatever. Jeff, you artwork reminds me of the disco floor back in the 80s!
  3:35pm Ike:

@Cecile, you literally made me laugh out loud.
  3:35pm miss cheri:

caryn have you also seen "forgetting sarah marshall" that's another great movie!
Avatar 3:36pm DJ KG:

steve - you caught that? covers show is 4/6.
  3:37pm http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

Now this is something I can get down with.
  3:37pm Cecile:

Yes it is a great movie. I especially like the scene where mila kunis puts on the head of a dead ram and cries out to the faceless ocean in grief. And Russell Brand was also good in it.
  3:38pm kat330:

Well, David Suisman's last playlist looks fun, but still....[pouting]
  3:38pm Cecile:

And the scene with the Viking raiding party is classic cinema.
  3:39pm steve:

kurt, yes! super excited to make this. thanks for the challenge.
  3:39pm trolly mctrollerson:

I haven't seen Forgget Marshall Sarah - but not sure about Russell Brand, as in, I'm assuming he's playing 'Russell Brand'..
  3:39pm Ike:

  3:40pm Caryn:

Love "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" in every way...
  3:40pm Ike:

  3:40pm http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

Why such a plebeian taste in film on the WFMU comment page?
  3:40pm Cecile:

He's playing a dick. A very entertaining one.

Now the Troll Acres by-laws. You MUST paint your house a color your neighbors on both sides will hate. You are required by your contract to egg one block in the development once per month.
  3:41pm Cecile:

last.fm troll, like we will listen to anything, we will watch anything that moves and make noise. We're a hoot at the dog park.
  3:42pm Caryn:

Oh johnny, you missed our Jan Svankmajer discussion earlier. Our taste in films, like in music, is wide-ranging.
  3:42pm Cecile:

and if you get us a blender full of marbles, hoo boy, its' all over.
  3:42pm Carmichael:

Moving through some comments while around or ignoring others, I got here just in time to miss RT and LT. That's OK, though; I have had Shoot Out the Lights on autoplay in my brain since it came out. And that's the 2nd time today for the World Saxophone Quartet, which is not nearly enough.
  3:43pm miss cheri:

caryn,,that movie was sooo very funny wasn't it??
  3:43pm Carmichael:

And don't even THINK about stealing my band name, Cecile.
  3:44pm Cecile:

  3:45pm Caryn:

Blender full of marbles!?! Where?
  3:45pm Cecile:

I especially liked the knife fighting scene in that movie, miss cheri. Best thing I've seen since Enter the Dragon.
  3:46pm miss cheri:

kg & caryn--i think no one else on this comment board is a bigger fan of mila kunis than i am.
  3:46pm BSI:

Speaking of band/song names inspired here, where the hell is Dead Corporate Eyes? Still shut out of FMU Wonderland by THE MAN?
  3:47pm Cecile:

yeah, BSI. He checked in last week, he was at home.
  3:47pm coelacanth:

Does it matter what species eggs we use? (I painted my house with spaghetti & meatballs. That should do it.)
  3:47pm Caryn:

Oh, for a "like" button... I'm excercising my core very effectively by guffawing at Cecile's posts.
  3:47pm Cecile:

miss cheri, show your love by carving her name in your chest and sending her a picture. Always works!
  3:48pm Carmichael:

@BSI: Yep, the poor guy is taking it in the cybershorts from the evil 1%. After the revolution, FMU will be required listening.
  3:48pm coelacanth:

mint green base.
  3:48pm http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

Are you guys excited for "Madea Gets a Job"?
  3:48pm BSI:

a'ite. I'll have to just credit DCE behind his sleeping back.....
  3:48pm Cecile:

coel, you are a model tenant.
I like ostrich eggs myself. More efficient. Make sure you let them sit out in the sun fora day or 2 beforehand.
  3:48pm still b/p:

It was tender and not hokey or gratuitous at all when wealthy Mila Kunis said to vagabond artist Jason Segal, "I want you to draw me like one of your French girls."
  3:49pm Caryn:

Damn that extra c in there! BTW, Cecile, will we have to egg an entire block? On my budget, I may have to just throw one egg at each house to be able to afford that.
  3:50pm Carmichael:

Boy, it took me about 5 notes to recognize Monk. I love this stuff.
  3:50pm Cecile:

Yes, last fm troll.
I am hoping that Tyler Perry pulls off his wig, and leads the cast in a hearty chorus of "it's raining men." at the film's conclusion.
  3:51pm Cecile:

do what you can, caryn.
  3:51pm Cecile:

ha, sbp.
  3:53pm coelacanth:

Kurt your gif is wonderfully soothing.(i'm sure this subject has been covered, but i just returned.)
  3:54pm miss cheri:

kg & caryn i'm sorry to trouble you two with my mila kunis ramblings i'll stop.
  3:54pm Caryn:

Oh, still b/p, that scene doesn't hold a candle to the scene where Jason Segel and his brother don monochromatic armour to take on brainwashed insane asylum inmates-turned-hockey players to save Mila Kunis from the clutches of Brewmeister Smith.
  3:54pm miss cheri:

let's move on
  3:54pm kat330:

Another Friday afternoon here w/storm and tornado warnings all over the place. I'll listen as long as I can. If I don't return, thanks for the show so far and in advance for all to come, DJ KG!
  3:55pm trolly mctrollerson:

keep on, movin' on
  3:57pm Stanley:

Mila!! Miiiilllllaaaaaaaa!
  3:59pm Carmichael:

"If I don't return"?? Are you about to be swept away, Dorothy style, Kat??
  3:59pm Oliver:

Troll Acres is the place to be!
  4:00pm Ike:

Congratulations! To my knowledge, NEVER before have any commenters forced Cheri off her Mila Kunis obsession. This is truly a banner occasion. Let's celebrate with a humorous GIF of Mila Kunis ripping off Justin Timberlake's head and devouring it voraciously!
  4:00pm coelacanth:

Damn.I wish i could share my Mila Kunis experience, but (head hung down) I dont have one.
  4:00pm Caryn:

That's what I was wondering, Carm! I don't know whether to be concerned for kat's safety or tell her to keep a handy water bottle with her to throw at the wicked witch.
  4:01pm http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

Is Mila Kunis the broad from Transformers?
  4:01pm steve:

theres a bizarre graffitti meme in north brooklyn lately, someone keeps scrawling "mila kunis is bored" all over the place. wtf.
  4:02pm Cecile:

No, that's Megan Fox. She's the broad from that 70s show and Forgetting Miss Cheri.
  4:02pm BSI:

....nobody ever pays ME in gum.
  4:02pm Caryn:

@steve: maybe it's Mila Kunis, graffiti-ing the place out of boredom?
  4:02pm Cecile:

Ike, never underestimate the power of a dead ram's head.
  4:05pm miss cheri:

well i have to split for a while..bye for now,, see later caryn!!
  4:05pm Cecile:

Paul Metzger played "Well You needn't" live with TVBC. it was killer.
  4:07pm Caryn:

And so, cheri rides into the sunset, only to return on the SUW comments board to ask Frangry about Mila Kunis...
  4:09pm http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

I'm listening to Monk Alone to drown this guy out.
  4:10pm coelacanth:

Yes,and some movie ...tonight at 8:08.
  4:10pm scramble board:

U sail mink
I maul skin
  4:10pm Cecile:

BSI, go call up Hershey's and give them hell.
4:12pm Notices & Remembers Way Too Much:

Just to clear things up a tad. (Yes, anonymously, ironically.)

miss cheri used to be plain old "cheri". I remember "her" asking ken himself in his comments if "she" could change to "miss cheri" a few months ago. ken rather exasperatedly said "she" could call "herself" anything she wants, as long as "she" didn't overpost too insanely about the same couple of irrelevant topics. fat lot of good that request did.

cheri used to ask every DJ to play "the cake" and what did they think of the cake and how great they are etc etc etc (sound familiar?). apparently even she got terminally sick from insanely excess cake. but i expect a golden oldie recurrence at some juncture.

cheri was actually an alternate persona of Texas Scott (they both do that unaccountable triple comma thingy that no other commenter does). Texas Scott is actually a guy, and is actually in Texas.

I haven't seen Texas Scott post recently. I'm entertaining the hypothesis that Texas Scott may have permanently become miss cheri, like with "mother" in the last scene of "Psycho"

Does all that help?
  4:12pm coelacanth:

Now i have familiarized myself...I've seen her on"that 70's Show".
  4:13pm http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

Do you expect me to read all of that?
  4:14pm Cecile:

yes, Notices, it's really helpful.
  4:15pm G:

@Caryn: cheri/miss cheri (no relation whatever to the serious poster Cheri Pi) always announces that she's leaving the board, but she never does. almost always, she posts again on the same show, anywhere from five minutes to two hours later.
  4:15pm Cecile:

johnnykevlar, here's a stick. Go hit a beehive.
  4:16pm coelacanth:

That's viable...I actually was once wondering if "cheri" was one of Irwin's personas.(he is obsessed with young ladies/girls,after all)
  4:17pm steve:

miss cheri and cheri pi are different people... this all makes much more sense now...
  4:17pm Ike:

Thanks, Notices, but I doubt that TX Scott = Cheri. TX Scott seems way too intelligent and thoughtful. The double- and triple-comma turns out to be (much to my chagrin) a relatively common phenomenon these days. (UGH!) I've seen other commenters do it too.
  4:17pm Caryn:

@G: I know, she's like Columbo that way. "Just one more thing..." I just fear for the reaction Frangry will have to this whole thing. She might finally totally lose it.
4:18pm Notices & Remembers Way Too Much:

@Ike: I didn't give all my reasons. You don't have to buy it. :-)

@http: I try not to expect much. That way, I'm seldom disappointed.
  4:21pm G:

To the best of my imperfect recollection, miss cheri is only rarely on the SUW board. But she's been expanding her show repertoire of late, it's true.
  4:23pm Cecile:

I don't know karate, but I know cah-ray-zay. Love that line.
  4:23pm steve:

"i don't know karate, but i know kuh-ray-zeh"
Avatar 4:24pm DJ KG:

cecile: absolutely! i actually meant to ask joe morris if he knew karate from cah-ray-zay, but i forgot.
  4:24pm kiemzi:

yes, cecile! was just about to type the same thing! love it!
  4:27pm http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

Now that's a funky bassline.
  4:28pm coelacanth:

Caryn- Frangry would just mutter"whatever"and move on...She seems to only be mean to intelligent & reasonable people.
  4:29pm BSI:

Overall a weird vibe on the board today.
  4:30pm Parq:

I took the Cheri less posted and that has made all the difference.
4:30pm Notices & Remembers Way Too Much:

@BSI: M.C. pooped in the punchbowl, is all. So everyone got to talking about it.
  4:30pm coelacanth:

i'm doing my part!
  4:31pm northguineahills:

whoops, fell asleep w/ Bryce's Riley....(still waiting for the hangover to pass)...
but I did incorporate part of the Joe Morris interview w/ my dream.
Avatar 4:31pm DJ KG:

  4:32pm Carmichael:

Ya know, I got to thinkin' ... What if this influx of wobbly commenters has to do with Ken's obsession about winning that stupid alternative radio contest? Unneeded exposure to unwanted strangeness? Resulting influx of said strangeness? My theory is tighter than Anne Elk's, ya gotta admit.
  4:32pm steve:

BSI, seriously. wish everyone could just ignore the trolls.
  4:34pm Cecile:

steve, I usually do, but they just kind of hit a nerve today. I think I got my dander up at Bryce's show and am just winding down. I just wanted to f'ing listen to Terry Riley in peace and chat like I do every Friday.
  4:34pm Notices...:

If ignoring miss cheri and her prior incranation helped, then after years now we would have noticed that.

She's a freight train no matter what anyone else does or doesn't do.
  4:35pm BSI:

...........and i still see Freud in the gif. Freud in a dirty fishbowl. And lo, it is awesome.
  4:36pm Cecile:

I like how you think, BSI.
Avatar 4:36pm DJ KG:

anne elk!
  4:36pm northguineahills:

yeah, there have a turd or three in the FMU punchbowl today...
  4:36pm steve:

i hear ya cecile. it definitely can be frustrating.
  4:38pm Caryn:

@Carm: hey, Miss Elk's theory on brontosauruses is watertight. They are, indeed, thin at one end, much, much thicker in the middle, and then thin again at the far end. Your theory may trump her second theory, though.
  4:38pm Cecile:

Well, it's peaceful now. Matches the mood of the GIF.
  4:39pm Notices...:

and the music...
  4:39pm then how'd we feel:

I was at a concert once where the performers and audience were made curious and annoyed about extra random noise coming from one individual in the crowd. The reason for a different mode of behavior and expression became known, and no one was annoyed or scornful any more.
  4:40pm Carmichael:

I keep seeing disco floor lights in Jeff's gif. And I swear I can hear a kick drum thumping away ...
  4:40pm http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

I was going to masturbate, but this piece is quite nice and I think I will have to wait.
  4:41pm still b/p:

I see Mr. Magoo's walk downtown ...as he sees it.
  4:41pm hamburger:

ooo, minimalistic piano ano ano
  4:45pm coelacanth:

Yes,Cecile.I got defensive back there about Bryce,& fmu...Then i ran a chainsaw for an hour, got my nerves rattling!.
  4:49pm hamburger:

Nazo Zakkak and Kumi Wakao are pretty cool names
  4:50pm Carmichael:

This music makes me want to hang out with Jack Cassidy at a piano bar, wearing my turtleneck and drinking Singapore Slings.
  4:50pm http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

  4:50pm hamburger:

ou, but Griswold, that's a bit unfortunate :)
  4:52pm Minnesota Jeff:

Good afternoon! Wild all italic comments board today!
Avatar 4:55pm DJ KG:

is it itals? odd. it isn't here...
  4:57pm Minnesota Jeff:

Starting at "Submit you tracks..." all the way down to "2000-2012 Ken Garson" is italicized. The chat area is not.
  5:00pm northguineahills:

I and I be ital.
  5:01pm Notices...:

Maybe kg forgot to close his html italics markup that he opened right before "Submit your tracks". Or maybe he wants the playlist to be italics.
  5:01pm hamburger:

Interesting Google for typographers / Italics originated from Italian, because of an Italian! Who wudda thoughtit?
  5:02pm Cecile:

that's cool. hamburger. Very cool.
  5:03pm hamburger:

Etymologists must be the coolest people to hand around with at a cocktail party / or the most tedious
  5:04pm Cecile:

the same might be said for typographers.
  5:06pm hamburger:

sadly, no typographers get invited to cocktail parties, they're too busy kerning
  5:07pm G:

Southern European and Northwestern European typefaces were split at the time printing got going in the 1400s.

Northern Europe (including England and Germany) dominantly used black-letter (we'd call it Gothic) script, which was the monastic handwriting style used in northern and northwestern Europe before printing.

In Renaissance Italy, they went back a little closer to classical Latin script. Most modern serif typefaces, and italic font, come out of Renaissance Italy.
  5:09pm Cecile:

I love typography, and hope to brush up on it because I'm going back to school for graphic design.
  5:10pm steve:

im with this guy
  5:12pm BSI:

funny. at the moment I'm up to my tonsils in typography.
Avatar 5:12pm DJ KG:

weird. that's not how it looked here (with the itals). but i found it. thanks, mn jf.
  5:13pm Minnesota Jeff:

Gotta look out for my Comments board.
Avatar 5:21pm DJ KG:

punctuation smiley face, mn jf!
  5:22pm northguineahills:

Do I have to buy the album in order to get "libretto" for this Dreyblatt piece. I'm geographer, and a geographic nerd at that.
Avatar 5:23pm DJ KG:

i'm afraid there's no libretto in the cd. but dreyblatt might be agreeable if you contacted him.
  5:23pm hamburger:

In China/Japan, it's kind of weird how typography is seen as high-art, in the form of antique scrolls etc.. compared to in the west (just my numbskull assumption)
  5:25pm miss cheri:

i'm back,,and don't think i'm stupid!!! i know you guys have been bashing me cause i know you guys!!! btw kg i love your show.
  5:26pm Cecile:

Persian calligraphy is also highly prized, as are hand-illuminated books. Also, England/Europe seems (in my limited knowledge) to be more savvy about and appreciative of it. I wonder if it has something to do with moveable type?
  5:26pm ?:

  5:27pm Cecile:

I mean hand illuminated medieval books in the West.
Avatar 5:28pm DJ KG:

one of the best questions i was ever asked was when i was walking through the medina in marrakech. i stopped to look at a painters work (which actually wasn't all that great) and he said from inside his souk "would you like a lesson in arabic calligraphy" i was so like, YES! it turned out he made these fairly beautiful paintings based on arabic characters, but the ones outside were for tourists.
  5:28pm G:

People in publishing and design can be very into fonts they like or hate, ideas about how to invent new ones (it's much easier electronically than it was in days of hot lead), etc. Even the federal government has programs to refine fonts and design to make signage easier to read, especially along highspeed roadways.
  5:28pm Mark T in VT:

I recently found out that when you see a "J' at the end of an email it is meant to be a smiley face. But the smiley face thingy turns into a J in emails sometimes if it doesn't recognize it as such.
  5:29pm Carmichael:

I saw the Book of Kells when I visited Trinity College. One of the coolest hand-written books ever.
  5:29pm northguineahills:

I feel sorry for whomever's hand illuminated a book ;)
  5:30pm Cecile:

cool, Kurt! Did you get a painting?

G, yes. Helvetica cracked me up because it reminded me of my 'zine days and how intense we were about fonts and whatnot.
  5:31pm Cecile:

Ha, ngh!

Carm, it must be so beautiful. Did you see the cartoon the Secret of Kells?
  5:32pm hamburger:

(my handwriting makes me think sometimes I have multiple personality disorder because it varies in 'style' so much from time to time )
  5:33pm G:

It took a completely traired and experienced monk roughly a year of fulltime work to make one new copy of the Bible. And they used a lot of abbreviations.
  5:35pm miss cheri:

well kg,,thnx for another great show i'll see you again very soon, g'night kg.
Avatar 5:37pm DJ KG:

cecile, i bought some of his "tourist" paintings to give to family and friends. they weren't awful, just sort of typical. and he wrote my niece and nephew's names in arabic, which are now on their bedroom walls. and i drank his strong mint tea and gave him every dirham he asked for without haggling because i liked him so much. but i didn't think i could travel with one of his large canvases so i didn't get one of those.
  5:38pm Mr Donut:

You parents out there, get Secret of Kells and show it to your kids. Kids need to see good cartoons once in a while.
  5:38pm Cecile:

I'm sure they love those gifts. And he sounded like a cool guy.
Avatar 5:39pm DJ KG:

but the lesson in arabic calligraphy was enough of a prize for me. he showed me how it's all about making circles, so for example if you have a letter (hypothetically, of course) like L, you have the top right area open, so you have to put a flourish there - two dots or a squiggle or something. it's not exactly part of the letter like dotting an "i", but you have to finish the circle.
  5:39pm Carmichael:

@Cecile: Haven't seen the cartoon. The book is astonishing. Even after so many centuries, the color is still brilliant. And the calligrophy is so precise it boggles the mind. A docent carefully flipped the page while I was reading it; I was holding my breath like he was defusing a bomb.
  5:40pm northguineahills:

The "Mexi" bldg (as my Mexican gf calls them) are blaring musica banda outside, must turn up Kurt!
  5:41pm Cecile:

Carm, the cartoon is about protecting the Book from the Norse raiders. It's laced with magic and gorgeous backgrounds and it's in kind of a graphic style very different than many animated films out today.
Avatar 5:41pm DJ KG:

ngh - i'll put on some christian marclay for you to battle them with!
  5:41pm Cecile:

I get it, DJ KG.
  5:42pm Carmichael:

Now you're talking, Kurt!
  5:44pm northguineahills:

Woo!, KG. I like most Mexican music (my gf wasn't so much into cumbia until she met me 5 years ago), but the neighbors play the same 20 songs all the time!
  5:47pm Caryn:

Kurt's background music is blending seamlessly with the Scott Walker coming from the tv.
  5:48pm Carmichael:

Is 30 Century Man on, Caryn?!?
  5:49pm Caryn:

Yep. They showed it on Monday, and are rerunning it today.
Avatar 5:49pm DJ KG:

ngh, i'm not super familiar with mexican music, but i'm happy any time i hear a rancheros tune!
  5:50pm Carmichael:

I have a Mila Kunis-style adoration for his voice and talent. Scott 4 is an incredible collection, IMHO.
  5:51pm northguineahills:

wow, I've never heard this Marclay!
  5:52pm Caryn:

Love Scott 4, but Scott 2 is my fave. I immediately liked one of our members of parliament more when she showed up at the president's Independence Day ball in a gown emblazoned with the cover of Scott 1.
Avatar 5:53pm DJ KG:

ngh: i just picked it up at printed matter in chelsea. double cd. they had one more copy.
  5:54pm Carmichael:

How does Marclay "jam" with other people? I saw him on Sanborn's Night Music many years ago, and was shocked at how he made music. He really opened my eyes to the whole Marble Blender style of music.
  5:54pm northguineahills:

MN Jeff's animation looks perfect as an unrealized MBV or Seefeel album cover. (compliment)
  5:55pm northguineahills:

I miss Marclay's xmas dj parties at the New Museum, where he picked dj's to dj his collection of xmas recores. Those were pure awesomeness!
  5:56pm Carmichael:

@Caryn: The Old Man's Back Again is one of my favorite post-Walker Bros songs. Big voice, with orchestration and a Morricone soundtrack vibe.
  5:57pm Caryn:

@Carm: it is indeed awesome. My fave song from that album.
  5:58pm G:

Great show. :-)

Closing tune for the comments board: Send In The Clowns :-)
  5:58pm Mark T in VT:

time to switch over to GTDS until Mister Finwine
  5:59pm G:

Now the whole comments board is italics, because it's no longer in a separate frame, but right below the playlist!!!!
