one christmas,my Father,brother and I,went searching for a christmas tree.we stopped on the side of a country road and found the perfect tree.As we proceeded to cut it down,my dad yelled "CAR",so we hit the ditch to hide.
the car went by,we got our tree.and went home.
the BEST christmas EVER!

love the stories. my father built us a go kart in the 60s out of a car steering wheel, plywood, hard rubber wheels, a rototiller engine, some belts and pulleys, a foot pedal and an old kitchen chair withh the legs cut off. we had a blast with it and it sounds corny, but we had fun even though we didn't have a lot.

When my dad was about twelve, he built a pipe bomb which went off in his hand. He lost three fingers. After that I guess he changed, because he was righteous about right and wrong. He also was able to distract people in a way that they knew him for years and never noticed his deformed hand. I miss him.
