Avatar 7:03pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

Hello all. Love this 30's or 40's era guitar noodling jazz style.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:03pm spodiodi:

Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:03pm dale:

i've never been in a sextet. are they fun? can you get v.d.?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:03pm spodiodi:

🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:03pm Bruce S.:

That was kind of Bebop
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:04pm ultradamno:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...is this the site for the Zoot Meeting?...
Avatar 🎸 7:04pm (((Murakami Whywolf):

Commodore Bellacourt hasn't been up in Dodo's room in _decades_.
Avatar 7:04pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

Horace Henderson is kinda Klezmer-like at least in the opening...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm Thee Tactile Interval:

Many a Marine contracted v.d. during the sextet offensive
🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:05pm Bruce S.:

kitty on toast, is that with butter?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:07pm dale:

thanks tactile. i'll just eat my own chocolate bars and wear my nylons then.
Avatar 🎸 7:07pm (Murakami Whywolf))):

Especially when young people are in them, sextets, and for that matter two-through-five-member groups, are infamous for sexual/romantic drama—at least that's the case for classical groups, partially a matter of spending so much time practising and then socialising afterward that they may not spend much time with anyone else.
Avatar 7:08pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

What an old codger!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:09pm ultradamno:

Oh, China's been screening my calls for years.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:10pm dale:

Show your color mode!
Avatar 🎸 7:13pm (((Murakami Whywolf):

I stole it from Jonathan Coulton, whose "Kenesaw Mountain Landis", a mountain of misinformation, ends with the observation that he got his come-uppance for Black Soxing when everyone thought he was Elvis Costello.
Avatar 🎸 7:15pm (Murakami Whywolf))):

John Fitzgerald Bodenheim, a bishop famous for saying to an actress 'We go to your room, and do the other things, not because you are easy, but because I am hard.'.
🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:15pm Bruce S.:

love the Bebop Sound
🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:16pm Bruce S.:

haha Whywolf, funny
  7:16pm headcleaner:

Sweet and delectable as ever, your program, Courtney
  7:19pm Menlo Park:

Not sure what is more topical mentholatum or witchhazel
Avatar 7:19pm Lolabelle Pancake:

That Andrew Aiona piece had a real Bix Beiderbecke feel, said Courtney. Just passing it along. Because you all demand his opinions.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:21pm ultradamno:

I'm getting the urge for a slow rollerskate dance
🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:21pm Bruce S.:

I'm suddenly in the mood to skate
Avatar 🎸 7:21pm (Murakami Whywolf))):

Menlo Park:
There are places where topical application of witch-hazel does good where mentholatum would sting like BLUE HADES—as evidenced by a Wm Burroughs character using it so. (Well, all right, it was Tiger Balm®, but close enough for anarchist work.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...myself - I am wondering what these Hipsters have against our old feelgood Swing with their psychotic BeBop hate musics...
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:22pm ultradamno:

I'm hoping with the current move in the country to turn back the clock we will soon see Washington declare 'colorizing' film to be a felony on par with 'stereoizing' monophonic recordings.l
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:24pm dale:

there's always some jelly roll in there somewhere.
🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:24pm Bruce S.:

I've grown to love Mono, Mono is not inferior to stereo, It's a whole different thing
  7:25pm Old Dave:

@ Rev- what? There is nothing they won't appropriate. Swing has come and gone several times with the college crowd in my lifetime...
Avatar 7:25pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

I love old country stations on AM that play Country Music from 40 years ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...no ultrad, those heinous practices will likely jibe perfectly with the 'NeoClassical' aesthetic beloved of bluntbrained Fascists everywhere...
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:26pm ultradamno:

Booo! Fred Kriegktkin!
🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:28pm Bruce S.:

I heard David Mascavige is takeing over for Ken
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:28pm ultradamno:

This DJ zombification explains the sounds of "Creamo Coyle" eating brains on mike earlier today
Avatar 7:29pm timinoak:

I love hearing about what's happening at the station.
Avatar 🎸 7:29pm (Murakami Whywolf))):

They bought a parking lot and intend to put-up a Paradise?
  7:30pm Old Dave:

The DJs in a monastery. Perfect!
  7:30pm Eric the Hat:

Upon learning of these new accommodations for yr cult, I’m doubling my pledges. Forever.
  7:31pm Marc15:

Does Michele With One L want to turn the WFMU DJs into Pod People?
🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:31pm Bruce S.:

like the Moonies Marriage ceremonies
Avatar 🎸 7:31pm (((Murakami Whywolf):

What about the Digitally Remastered Race?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:31pm dale:

would help with the tax free status.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...why am I thinking Dr.Strangelove now...
Avatar 🎸 7:32pm (Murakami Whywolf))):

'…and, looking very relaxed, Adolph Hitler on vibes!'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...would ensure WFMU's stability as an institution in perpetuity ...accent on the perp...
Avatar 7:33pm Lolabelle Pancake:

WOW! I had no idea Courtney was going to go with that whistleblower's exclusive! Shocking. Appalling. Scandalous!
  7:34pm RMB:

WFMU Manifesto is the thin edge of the wedge. That's how nazi Germany got started!
Avatar 7:35pm Lolabelle Pancake:

You can thank Mark Hearst for blowing that whistle!
  7:35pm Rebecca:

wfmu, coolest cult ever!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35pm Franco Twinkie:

I was dug into a book about a Mexican witch when I heard Courtney's voice wafting in from the kitchen like the smoke from a burnt tortilla -YAY!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...serioulsly tho is there no available real estate im SouthAmerica? An island somewhere ?
...Hurst or Micah ??...
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:36pm dale:

is this clarence williams, the grandfather of clarence williams the third? solid.
  7:36pm Old Dave:

Dale is right, the tax and money hiding/moving with religious orgs is unparalleled in our country. Go for it Ken and one L.
  7:37pm Steve from Dunwoody:

After Two Sevens Clash, it’s time for Revolution 78! Look sharp, it might be over quick.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...there always seems to be some intersection in the VennDiagrams of Hurst & Micah, somehow...
  7:37pm Robert:

I got a friend who used to specialize in legally reorganizing businesses as churches in NJ.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:37pm ultradamno:

The Hearst Syndicate may have a reputation for journalism of a most yellow hue, but Mark did the world a favor by using his natural inclination toward muckraking for the side of good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...indeed ! The Codger is perfectly situated for 78 Revolutions...
Avatar 7:39pm Lolabelle Pancake:

Courtney always joked about WFMU being a cult. But he never thought it would go full Jim Jones.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:39pm ultradamno:

Also, his series on the dangers of these newfangled 'electric blender' devices no one can put down has been a real eye-opener
  7:39pm Steve from Dunwoody:

And this music is scalding hot!
🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:40pm Bruce S.:

don't drink from any previosly opened bottles
  7:40pm RMB:

Kool-aid anyone?
🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:42pm Bruce S.:

great set Courtney!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...ok I've been slowly coming around to the possibilities these electrified gittars may have ...tho I still suspect they are actually technically unsafe as a threat to health with all that power seeping out from wires ...but I do sincerely hope that Swing won't be supplanted here by that BeBop AntiMusic...
  7:43pm Steve from Dunwoody:

What kind of name is Thore Jederby for an American?! From now on you’re Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson. Hey, you stamped my hand….
  7:44pm Robert:

My friend Don here asks, "How does this DJ discover his records? Archeologic digs? I'm serious!"
  7:46pm Robert:

Previously Don quipped, "Oh, you finally found a program that plays music older than you."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...radio comes thru on amplifiers ...it's true ! - how do we know these electric gittars aren't actually listening to & broadcasting *us*...
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:48pm ultradamno:

So it seems Maury is out again this week (still suspended from the boardwalk for certain acts of "public indecency") in his place is a "Craig" who promises some sort of "greatest" adventure through Zone 5 (which, by the time zones, I believe is Kazakhstan), so a lot of dombra music, I'm guessing.
  7:50pm Steve from Dunwoody:

Fave part of Sister Rosetta’s bio: “Tharpe attracted 25,000 paying customers to her wedding to her manager, Russell Morrison (her third marriage), followed by a vocal performance at Griffith Stadium in Washington, D.C.” Yes, I grew up a Washington Senators fan.
🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:51pm Bruce S.:

first in war, first in peace and last in the american league
🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:53pm Bruce S.:

yes that's my rectum?
  7:54pm Steve from Dunwoody:

Yes, @BruceS, every home batter was “due” said our radio guys. Ach.
Avatar 7:54pm Lolabelle Pancake:

Yes, that's the title of Gus's upcoming literary blockbuster.
Avatar 7:54pm Lolabelle Pancake:

The German translation is titled Ja, Das ist Mein Rektum.
🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:55pm Bruce S.:

lol lolabelle
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:56pm ultradamno:

And less of a paycheck is nobody's idea of more.
Avatar 🎸 7:57pm (Murakami Whywolf))):

As Mark Hearst signs-off every week 'Give the slip to G.E. and G.M., forget Firestone and, whatever you do, deny Dupont.'.
🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:58pm Bruce S.:

at least washington won it all a couple of years ago
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:58pm radioronan:
