Listener comments!

Pre-paration. Commendable.
Avatar 11/6 10:04pm Lolabelle Pancake:

Hello, G — you are quite an early bird! Courtney is halfway thru a plushed-to-the-scuppers weekend and hasn't even begun putting together Tuesday's program. As a regular listener you know that Courtney's show prep consists of three yawns and a pack of Luckies.
Avatar 11/8 9:39am Davee:

Where am I?
Avatar 1:26pm Lolabelle Pancake:

I don't know, Davee. Have you discovered your whereabouts yet? When the Codger's listeners get lost, we send out an Amberol Alert.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00pm G:

Back early again. But she who must obeyed made a dinner reservation for 6:30, leaving early...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm G:

Me and my time zones. Too much traveling. I mean, I'll be back after 7pm ET...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02pm G:

Two hours? Wow, he'll be super plushed by the end.
  6:48pm Listener Robert:

The second column of the Gargle is headlined in Hebrew, isn't it?
Avatar 6:53pm Lolabelle Pancake:

Yes, Robert. In Hebrew it says, "Grampy's Losing Rival Is Kinda Bughouse."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm ultradamno:

So a whole second hour of major motion picture soundtracks?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm dale:

herro dere. i used to get the morning gargle. but now i get the evening expectorate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03pm ultradamno:

Electricity used to wield switchblades twitter.com...
Avatar 7:05pm Lolabelle Pancake:

Not tonight, Ultra. On Nov. 23.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07pm ultradamno:

Yeah, I knew tonight is the Morricone birthday special
  7:08pm lieutenant lambrusco:

Hey Old Codger. Loving the radio tonight - thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm ultradamno:

Domestic terrorism is a deal breaker at WFMU now?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:12pm Euneeda S. Bodenheim:

I hate it when he impugns the family name. Don't tar us all with the same brush!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm dale:

shades of the commercial with the second mr. french.
  7:13pm Listener Robert:

If he hits the floor, is that a poetry slam?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14pm ultradamno:

That is indeed some purty talkin'
Avatar 7:17pm Lolabelle Pancake:

Euneeda, as Gus and Courtney explain it, everyone in the Bodenheim family gets tarred with their own brush.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm PigeonsAndRust:

I think most of the folks on here will appreciate that I accidentally and quite literally tarred and feathered myself today. Alao, I pulled a copy of 'Doin' Things' out of the bottom of chicken coop in Greene County last year-- black label Okeh electric
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm rrg:

That second Mr. French was John Williams, a great and prolific English actor. He was ill-used by that commercial. After he died they continued to use it and got someone to badly imitate his English accent to say that the records now cost $24.95 instead of $19.95.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm Euneeda S. Bodenheim:

I keep my brushes clean, thank you very much!
Avatar 7:20pm Lolabelle Pancake:

All Bodenheim brushes are manufactured by J.G. Paine & Sons.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20pm spodiodi:

aloha, Courtney, Lolabelle, and everyone. this music sounds kind of fast.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm dale:

120 musical masterpieces rrg. better than the kenny rogers quick pickin' easy strumming guitar course.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm Tommy in Neversink:

Lionel Hampton is certifiably insane on piano
Avatar 7:25pm Mailman Tom:

So this is where Tiny Tim got his vocal style!
Avatar 7:27pm Mailman Tom:

I saw Lionel Hampton at Carnegie Hall!
Avatar 7:30pm Lolabelle Pancake:

Lionel Hampton & His Orchestra performed at Sascha Bodenheim's bar mitzvah reception.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30pm PigeonsAndRust:

This is great! I'm always looking for new versions of "Get out and get under the moon" Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm PigeonsAndRust:

Looks like she created at least three matrices of that song for Brunswick. I wonder, could it be the same famous English actress?
  7:37pm Listener Robert:

Tom, who was Lionel Hampton there to see?
Avatar 7:39pm Lolabelle Pancake:

At the bar mitzvah, Lionel announced that they were playing "Hamanagila."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm spodiodi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm PigeonsAndRust:

In Rockland County, I think in Pearl River, there used to be a dentist named Dr. Mengele. He was Jewish too.
Avatar 7:44pm Mailman Tom:

Lionel Hampton was part of the Stan Lee extravaganza held there in 1972
  7:46pm Listener Robert:

Sounds like a Russian plot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm PigeonsAndRust:

Interesting...I wonder how they doubled Betty Boop's voice before magnetic tape was in use!
Avatar 7:53pm Mailman Tom:

Was he nick named the "White Angel"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53pm G:

Louis J, huge star of 40s music. Big influence on Ray Charles and so many others.
  7:54pm Listener Robert:

White Angel is a brand of toilet paper, I believe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm Asheville Jon:

mmmmm, gas station hot dogs. the roller variety are true culinary delights!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm spodiodi:

deaath dogs ftw! 🦃⛽
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm spodiodi:

thank you, Courtney, Lolabelle, Euneeda, Gus!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm rrg:

Here it comes, my favorite lyric: "a great big valise full of books to read where it's peaceful."
Avatar 7:58pm Lolabelle Pancake:

Thank you all for staying tuned. You can leave now. The station is signing off the air for today. The station will sign on again in 167 hours.
