Hey Fabio everybody
  3:07pm Robm:

Hello fellow failures ready for some great music
Avatar 3:07pm Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen:

here's a question...is the bit of Santana just before Giant Man starts the remnants of Pseu's Thing With A Hook, or is it actually the beginning of Strength Through Failure?
  3:08pm Robm:

@BBQBJA inly the shadow knows
  3:08pm Brendan:

Anyone remember Comet Kohoutek?

The failure of existence
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm tim from washington:

@Buffalo - I can't confirm it's Santana but it is the intro to the intro of Fabio's show.
  3:10pm Brendan:

Anyway if you missed it, it will be back in about 75,000 years. I think it forgot something at the grocery store.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm Ryan Due:

hello everyone, hello Fabio! excited for this week's failure!
Avatar 3:11pm Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen:

oh it is definitely Jingo by Santana. lol

thx tim

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm tim from washington:

Good to know, BBQJA. My failure knowledge is more complete.
  3:13pm Brendan:

Dunno why , I always thought that was a Can song before giant man intro
Avatar 3:14pm Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen:

from the first Santana album, honestly a very worthy listen. rock solid and all downhill from there. except for the Alice Coltrane collab
Avatar 3:14pm Sunny:

hey Fab
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Good point - Jingo never gets a cred here... 2nd album Abraxas is not so bad ! Then decades of - just being Santana. Which is not the worst thing to befall civilization...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm JohnEBGood:

Sounds like Carlos.
  3:17pm Geoff:

Fabio, since it was you who turned me on to the great Cinephobe back in the Middle Ages of COVID19 lockdown I figured you would want to know as of today THEY ARE BACK! So exciting
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm tim from washington:

The Alice Coltrane collaboration is great. I need to re-visit it. My favorite Carols is the record with Mahavishnu John McLaughlin 'Love Devotion Surrender'. I love the incindiary guitar work on it.

fail (v.)
c. 1200, "be unsuccessful in accomplishing a purpose;" also "cease to exist or to function, come to an end;" early 13c. as "fail in expectation or performance," from Old French falir "be lacking, miss, not succeed; run out, come to an end; err, make a mistake; be dying; let down, disappoint" (11c., Modern French faillir), from Vulgar Latin *fallire, from Latin fallere "to trip, cause to fall;" figuratively "to deceive, trick, dupe, cheat, elude; fail, be lacking or defective." De Vaan traces this to a PIE root meaning "to stumble" (source also of Sanskrit skhalate "to stumble, fail;" Middle Persian škarwidan "to stumble, stagger;" Greek sphallein "to bring or throw down," sphallomai "to fall;" Armenian sxalem "to stumble, fail"). If so, the Latin sense is a metaphorical shift from "stumble" to "deceive." Related: Failed; failing.
Avatar 3:50pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Vulgar Latin: something to aspire to, always.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm Miss G:

Beautiful line in a Guardian article re: Zinovieff 2015. <Zinovieff, now 82, has been trying to make computers obey him for almost 60 years.> I knew a story of a guitar player tell a synth player that it was "so cool" when the synth didn't do the expected thing. The synth player said "how would you like it if during a show your guitar suddenly turned into a FISH?!"

Hey, HyperDose, fm Mike, Tim, winston, everyone!

Coela, I like really dry cider, and it's hard to find. This guy at Scrumpy Ewe in West Fulton makes excellent ciders. Also Stone Ridge in Stone Ridge, NY, near High Falls is fantastic. He was recommending some stuff out of the Finger Lakes region, too, but I left the note in the car with the names. New York Cider Co. makes some good ones. And Abandoned Cider is pretty good -- that's maybe the most likely to be more widely available one that I like.
