Charles:
I heard that it's still really hard to find out if your h-pylori count is really high???...:)
Ethiopian tune? The very first two times I went to Ethiopian restaurants, years ago, musicians set up and played, unbeknownst to me aforehand. Hence, I was hooked to both music and food.
@Winston: I only asked because mine was yesterday, so I wanted to find out if your person is my birthday neighbor. I'm glad you have a good 'monger nearby.
Gaylord, That's a million dollar idea! If this DJ thing doesn't work out, you can open Burrito Enchantment. The name alone is enough to get them lined up around the block.
Thanks, everyone! RevRab: Even though I don't Facebook, I was able to see the link. Very cool! Yes. Me = head-first, for better or for worse. haha.
Franco: I gave myself cheese!
I never did! But Lou and Bill, his partner, were famous for a pot of soup they had kept going for years, adding to it every day,
freezing it if they had to go out of town.
Gaylord...you are taking me through realms. Realms, man! Thanks for the attention to what you do. And if you think you just got lucky...well then thanks for being lucky! Great show, man.
I have been listening, not looking. Someone from the last show made me want to take a break. Gaylord, you handled it with grace. I applaud you for that! Back to the killer vibes. Trying to resist the call of discogs on this one. SO damn good!
I love that movie, but it gives me the heebie-geebies to this day, just thinking about. I was quite young when I first saw it and had no context or way to process it.
Thank you, Paul Robeson! (Also, it's really fun for me to thank Paul Robeson, a person I am in awe of, for wishing me a happy birthday, even if you aren't the "original" one.)
Tempting to try some long-winded analogy comparing Terry's & Marriott's voices to related but different aircraft - but fortunately I'm too lazy just now...
Last week on my show I played Sandy Denny followed by Jessica Pratt and it was actually an awful segue. Kinda like drinking your tea right after you brush your teeth. Both are lovely flavors on their own, but oy vey, they don't mix.
@karlward: Ah, yes. Dreamy pop goes well with La Tur. Soft-ripened tre latte from the Italian Piedmonts. It's a smooth, melt-in-yr-mouth cheese with the texture of chilled butter. But, like the best dreamy pop, the exterior -- a puffy cloud -- bites you back a little.

nasty:
Last week on my show...I played Motorhead...than Astrud Gilberto...kinda like drinking draino right after having sex.

Man this Victor always hits like a ton of bricks. And what a great journey to get here! Thanks Gaylord for the great show! Another magical one in the books.
