"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

Philippe--I would actually let it go overnight if you can bear it; you want a robust immune response. At night, take what you need to go to sleep. Have LOTS of tummy-gentle food handy and stay hydrated. Remember the old chemo diet BRAT--Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast (plain). If your tummy gets funny, remember that icewater is easier to keep down.

One last thing--in NY, it's easy to get Delta8 gummies--they didn't do a lot by way of getting me high but they sure as hell put a damper on the deep body cramps I got the evening of my 2nd shot--I'm a side sleeper and my own body weight on my hips and shoulders made it tough to lie down; one of those before bed did the trick. And yeah the shot itself is NOTHING--didn't even feel the needle.

I d skip the Tylenol unless you hate your liver. Ask a hospital nurse what they think if it. Also you want the elevated temperature it will suppress
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56am
P(LP)²B:

@TerrDE I apparently have quite the resilient liver, given my prior history with bourbon, vodka, scotch, gin, wine, high ABV beers lol! But yeah, I've heard lotsa bad stuff about tylenol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58am
Threemoons:

Philippe--aaah, sorry. In NYC they are no longer allowed to test for THC of any sort for MOST jobs unless it's a physical safety issue (ie MTA driver/mechanic/etc). I worked at a major pharmco years ago. I never indulged in the Whacky Tabaccy myself, but when the Delta8 gummies came up, I had to try them as an alternative to stuff like Motrin for Lady Cramps and similar issues as the NSAIDs were chewing up my stomach (ulcers 2x). Anyway when i was at said pharmco, you COULD be "randomly" called for a pee test. In 7 years there, I was called ONCE in 6 years. Then, when they were making cuts to my department, the "random, number generated" tests mystriously picked me 7 times in 4 months. Complete pain in the ass. I KNOW my ex-boss, who was a total beeeyotch, was looking for ways to get rid of me. She even waited until I was good and sick and she KNEW that I sometimes got prescription coedine for bronchitis cough control. I must have metabolized the F out of it though because....even though I filled out the little sealed card (in case I threw a positive) of prescription meds I was on, I never got called back. She finally gave up and I got out of there with a package, but I digress.....
Avatar 9:58am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Most drugs are hard on the stomach & liver, true. Temper your use accordingly.
Whole point of the vax is to sitmualte the immune system - so don't take anti-inflammatories *before* the shot @ all - & hold off long as possible afterwords seems good sense. I held off analgesics til I got tired of not sleeping from discomfort.
Hell have a shot of bourbon before you go ! Wish I did...
Made sure I had juices & vitamin waters - protein bar to feed immune cells
...glad to get outta there after symptoms vigil... walking t circulate it seemed good - then down for the low energy & chills...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58am
Threemoons:

@TerrDE yeah, as I said above, you WANT a robust immune response. Feel all the icky feels for a day and let it sink in real good.

True funny story: Back then, they didn't really have a menu; just prices drawn on a paper plate. 3 items: "Veg Momo" "Meat Momo" and "Cha (tea)." So I once went there with a Momo Crawl group--most were Queens residents and foodies. This one chick was completely out of place--had worn high heels for a day of walking, fussy clothes when you're eating drippy food, etc. We all go up and order plates of 8 for $5 to share. So Fussy Chick asks the lovely, smiling 15-year-old girl behind the counter: "What kind of meat is in the momos?" Girl *smiling broadly* "MEAT!" "No, what KIND of meat?" *nods more vigourously, smiles more broadly* "MEAT!" It was def beef mixed with lamb. Delicious.

I like when WFMU DJs talk about art, books, films, music et al. It's much different then some commercial DJ jackass talking about his visit to Chipotle or Pantera Bread or the upcoming Home and Garden show at the local hockey rink.

@RRN63: Got it, it sounds like you have at least a good strong casual interest in it and you learned a thing or two about it. But if you want to know where and when to look for Leo it's easy enough, I just googled it and I got some straightforward instructions. But like I said the Stars that make up its head is very difficult to see, so in case you do try to look for it don't let that throw you off, it looks like a backwards question mark. But should be able to recognized the body easy enough.

:) Thank you.
I will only mention the name of the artist (Ismail Bahri) whose latest (solo show) exhibition I visited, and it left me puzzled. Never knowing if there is really something to it, and I get a feeling very close to anger, let's just say it's frustration because of the very rare occasions I get to go inside the art spaces and dimensions, which means that I am missing much of the context for the conversation surrounding it , or if really there is not much to it because of the poverty (in all senses of the term) of the local (cultural and intellectual) scene. Mind you this very exhibition is proof that there are *always* people, there is always something that has potential .. but .. a lot I fail to grasp (and I always contrast this with music where I was able to discover musicians and pieces and places like wfmu where I came to appreciate -and almost prefer sometimes- the abstract , like improvised jazz. A very puzzling subject, I think about A LOT, but almost never get to talk about with other people
