Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm

I know this is a little insane, but your show is the background soundtrack to my watching the Chauvin murder trial (George Floyd) on Court TV.

Listened to really good live version of "The Masquerade" over the weekend. This edit is excellent, making me want to pull out all my Benson tracks.

Eddie is no Burton Cummings however, regardless of how hard he tried.

(And this is quite possibly the best recorded live album ever: en.wikipedia.org...

Frank Zaatar:

The New York Rock Ensemble was also one of the bands that changed their name when the 70s hit--they made 3 albums before as the New York Rock and Roll Ensemble. I don't know if they were the best of the Baroque Rock bands of the 60s (I think so), but they were the best trained, being Julliard students.
Avatar 1:10pm

mrdonutsu: Yes! That's a great live album..love the opening track "Pain Train"
Avatar 1:11pm

Frank Zaatar: Yes, I'm just now ready to deep dive into there discography. I love all of the singles i've heard and purchased over the years, so I'm gonna deep dive in.

Frank Zaatar:

Duane, I think you'll dig them--with all the ruffled shirts and "lead oboe and rhythm oboe" they were a damn fine rock band.
Avatar 1:17pm

this sounds like a Double Dee & Steinski tribute - in a good way:)
Avatar 1:19pm

Frank Zaater: I'm looking forward to it!
Monica: Yup! I agree...Simon Harris definitely was the UK's rave answer to those guys. He was HUGE over in the UK for a minute

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm
tim from champaign (now washington):

In the mid 90s I worked in group homes for developmentally disabled adults. My buddy would DJ the Friday night special people dances. By far the most popular jams were "My Girl Wants To Party All The Time" and Kriss Kross's I Missed The Bus.". The dancers would FUNK IT UP doubly hard with I Missed The Bus probably knowing from experience. That's how I feel when I'm late for The Duane Train!
Avatar 1:39pm

Passaic River Blues: Awesome! It's from an early slice of queer cinema called "Sticks & Stones". It's an early Gay film..basically just them partying and living it up in Fire Island:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm

loving the set in n brooklyn

Ah, hence the reference to the ferry (which made it hard to place for me). Wonder if any of those guys were going catch Walter Gibbons or Tom Moulton later on!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm

bump bump bump bump
Avatar 1:45pm

Passaic River Blues: If they were lucky! Tom Moulton said he still has the reel to reel tapes he made for the Fire Island clubs during that period

Hey, Duane! Afternoon, all! The Train and a dog walk are an excellent combo. Also, I melt anytime Strawberry Letter 23 is played.
