- Wow! A double shot of Deep House goodness on Wednsday. First we welcome the talented Queens-Bred NYC DJ/Producer Henry Maldonado, who is a man of many aliases. His early '90s releases on the classic Strictly Rhythm label are some of the most treasured, yet underrated releases on that prolific label. Tracks like "Hypnotize Me" Straddled the line between deep house and rave/techno and are still major staples in the sets of such luminaries as Derrick May, Moby and Tony Humphries. His new self-titled forthcoming album is under the Son of Sound moniker and it's a great fusion of Patrick Adams Disco and funky deep NYC House that is dripping with soul!
Swinging back to Detroit. Matt Chicoine aka Recloose was at the forefront of the Detroit electronic Renaissaince of the late '90s early oughts. Alongside luminaries such as Dwele, J dilla, Carl Craig and Slum Village. Chicoine carved out his own unique brand of high-tech 4/4 soul that incorporated bits and pieces of all of his contemporaries, but with a more prevalent Techno edge.
