Avatar 12:29pm John L:

Gerry from Miami: OMD had bass, and some guitar, on their first album. I saw them in 81 or 82 and they, at least, played bass live. I do remember seeing Our Daughter's Wedding and don't recall any guitars, only keyboards, possibly a drummer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm Doug in JC:

@WoodsOfNH no! My coworker gave me an entire loaf (why??) of "everything bread" he picked up at Walmart so it's apparently a thing

And, yeah - "everything seasoning" is readily available in the great box-store plains of Murkah. I sprinkle it on broiled fish. Poppy seeds... are an Eastern Europe thing I just don't get.

Pumpernickel is A-OK with me.

Any "salt" bagel aficionados? I like food that hurts, salt *and* bagels... but salt bagels (is there a real name for them? I'm a hick) are just a bridge too far for moi.
  12:52pm Gerry from Miami:

@ Gerry from Ohio. I agree Bob Mould has mellowed and is better for it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14pm unpopularfred:

@Roberto - that song's alright, but there are some better ones on that album.
  1:15pm Doc Rock:

Sorry Miami!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Doug in JC:

It's anyone's opinion that Blue Hearts is more mellow than File Under Easy Listening?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Mike Sin:

re: Billy Joel "Cold Spring Harbor"
Folks, if you can find an early press of that LP on the "Family" label, it is quite interesting to hear because it's mastered too fast. Joel's vocals on that track are actually up a full step. I actually this mistake benefitted the album -- that track then takes on a more McCartney feel. I think it's a great song, so Joel's voice sounding smoother and higher sounds better to me. Of course, my prejudices are showing. ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Krys O.:

There were elements of Christine Perfect in Joel's voice on that.
Avatar 1:16pm Pseu Braun:

absolutely, MS

  1:16pm Gerry from Miami:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm Doug in JC:

I'd have a better opinion of BJ if he didn't complain in every interview that people don't consider him a rock god
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm WoodsOfNH (now Maine):

Avatar 1:24pm John L:

I grew up on Long island, so Billy Joel was always in the air. I saw him play at Stonybrook, for the Turnstiles tour, and still remember that show fondly.
  1:24pm Gerry from Miami:

I saw Billy Joel lip-syncing on the Real Don Steele Show, a Saturday afternoon teen TV program in 70s LA. Not sure what song they had him do, but I do remember remarking to a friend how Mr. Joel sounded like a warbling bird, almost inhuman.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm Mike Sin:

  2:13pm Gerry from Miami:

Pseu, thanks fior letting us codgers air out our dusty memories. During the pandemic, it gives us a lot of fun, happiness and joy in sharing our love for the great music you play.
Avatar 2:15pm Joe McG:

Cool, Jude! Celebrating with you in spirit listening to the Pseu Braun program. Thanks, Gerry! (I'm not really 75, btw, but I'm close enough.)

Weed won't give you a proper sleep either. Another one of life's little unfortunates.
Avatar 2:35pm NikiA:

oh fuk @Pseu is speaking my language. esp during covid times. I feel like I exist in a cloud of smoke at all times
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Bill in W.O.:

Enjoying the show, Hi Pseu!
Avatar 2:36pm NikiA:

yeah @Chris_in_space so true - speaking as a chronic insomniac.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm Travisano66:

Maybe you can use the phrase "the funny walk" à la Monty Python.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Travisano66:

Weed makes me paranoid and afraid that there's a man hiding behind the shower curtain.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Travisano66:

You're right. I meant "silly walk."
Avatar 2:38pm NikiA:

@Travisano66 yes - it can do that to me depending on strain, time of year, my cycle, and how long I've been using for. Inevitably it will happen if I use heavy for months. Then I have to take a break
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Travisano66:

I try it about once every 5 years. Never good. Not sure why I try.
  2:39pm Faux Jean:

Did I hear someone say feces?
  2:39pm Morgan:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Ike:

IMHO New Jersey's delicious tomatoes are also not recognized frequently enough either. Perhaps more often than its varmints, but not as often as they deserve.
Avatar 2:44pm HyperDose:

Cannabis just makes me shake my booty ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Travisano66:

I actually didn't try weed for many years because it made my heart race to about 140 bpm while sitting calmly. Then I had my heart checked. It's fine. So I tried again. No heart racing. And no fun. So... BOURBON, BABY!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Krys O.:

I agree, Ike. Jersey grown tomatoes are wonderful. I wish more restaurants used them instead of the cheaper cardboard variety.
Avatar 2:46pm Larry F:

"You and Me" is a great Randy Newman song, excellently done on Nilsson Sings Newman.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Krys O.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Travisano66:

"You and Me" "Arm in Arm Naturally..." It will forever remind me of antiperspirant. (Why can't I find that commercial? Did I dream it?)

@NikiA never change!
