STOP HITTING YOURSELF!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:02pm Rich in Washington:

Finally snowing here! I either won't make it home from work or will be stuck at home if I do.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:02pm spacebrother:

Hey Rich!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:04pm Rich in Washington:

How's it goin', spacebrother?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:04pm Rich in Washington:

That track was incredible!
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:05pm spacebrother:

Thanks!
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:05pm spacebrother:

It's wet here, but the tunes are wetter!
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:05pm spacebrother:

or something.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:05pm Rich in Washington:

I'll bet Werner Herzog is kicking himself for not using this song for Little Deiter Needs to Fly.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:06pm spacebrother:

Gotta look that one up.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:07pm recordrouletteclub:

I dig this "Ghost Rider" version!!
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:07pm recordrouletteclub:

Is that a guitar / whistle / or theremin?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:08pm Rich in Washington:

I think it's a stringed instrument, like a tabletop stringed thing, but I am not sure.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:08pm spacebrother:

THanks Henry! I don't know if he could afford a theremin, so probably keyboard?
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:08pm spacebrother:

I'll go with Rich.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:10pm Rich in Washington:

I think it's one of those instruments that allows bending behind the bridge, like that Chinese instrument that I can't recall at the moment. I think there's a whole compilation of that instrument.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:11pm Rich in Washington:

CAB CALLOWAY COVERED THIS? Crazy!
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:11pm spacebrother:

Like a Sirod(?)
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:11pm spacebrother:

Freaked me out too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:12pm Rich in Washington:

Kind of? I think. It almost looks like a Western steel guitar - a sort of tabletop harp. I could be completely wrong.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:13pm Rich in Washington:

Was it you that played the Homer and Jethro parody of History..?
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:13pm spacebrother:

Yes, I think so. "Great Men Repeat Themselves"
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:13pm recordrouletteclub:

I guess it also could've been a synth preset
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:15pm Rich in Washington:

Zither. That's the word I'm looking for. I believe it's a Đàn tranh. I used to follow a friend's show and she would play lots of weird SE Asian music.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:15pm spacebrother:

I'd like to hear more of that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:20pm Rich in Washington:

Frank was only in it for the money.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:21pm spacebrother:

Most assuredly for that assignment.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:22pm spacebrother:

How much later was the Mothers' album?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:22pm Rich in Washington:

Bat bucks were huge! Even Sun Ra got into the act.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:23pm spacebrother:

Yup, I have that track too. Surreal.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:24pm spacebrother:

After Burt Ward, I think I'm gonna kill myself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:24pm Rich in Washington:

I had the Dan and Dale single for years (sans cover) before I realized the Sun Ra connection.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:25pm Rich in Washington:

This is a really cheery sounding song for its subject matter.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:25pm spacebrother:

I only know it from an mp3 I snorted up a few years back.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:26pm spacebrother:

There have to be other cheery suicide songs.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:26pm spacebrother:

The mp3 of Sun Ra Batman I meant.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:28pm Rich in Washington:

I was just telling Fab this morning about a crazy Tex Ritter track which I cannot locate on the youtoobs. I've I ever get it, I will share.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:29pm spacebrother:

Please do!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:29pm Rich in Washington:

10-4 good buddy!
Mon. 2/4/19 7:29pm captain mike in port Whitby:

Music that ministers! Thank u
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:30pm spacebrother:

Any time Cap'n Mike.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:30pm Rich in Washington:

CB songs and records are somewhat fun for me, in that my father was a trucker when he was in his 20s and really, REALLY hated the trucker/CB craze of the 70s. There's something funny about them to me now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:31pm Rich in Washington:

This is great!
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:31pm spacebrother:

He was a hipster trucker.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:33pm recordrouletteclub:

really enjoying your show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:33pm Rich in Washington:

OMG! What a surreal song!
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:33pm spacebrother:

Thank you Henry!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:34pm Rich in Washington:

I'm dying here!
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:34pm spacebrother:

Yeah, I can't believe some of the things we find.
Mon. 2/4/19 7:34pm captain mike in port Whitby:

Always dug Burl’s Ugly Bug Ball too
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:35pm spacebrother:

That's also a favorite.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:39pm Rich in Washington:

We had some of Burl's children's records growing up but my brother and I destroyed them by laying either 7" or 10" over the top of them to force them to loop when the stylus hit them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:40pm Rich in Washington:

This is kind of crazy! If you're wife's at all like mine, I can understand this driving her nuts.
  Mon. 2/4/19 7:41pm tw2sheds:

Wasn't she one of the Catwomen?
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:41pm spacebrother:

I had Burl on some of my kids' records too.
For some reason, i didn't realize he was the snowman in the Rankin Bass Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer special too.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:41pm spacebrother:

Yes, She was.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:41pm Rich in Washington:

I think all of us Jungle Room DJs play lots of music that drive our S/Os crazy. Just sayin'.
  Mon. 2/4/19 7:41pm tw2sheds:

That's why he wants his rear end on fire
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:42pm Rich in Washington:

She was indeed, tw2sheds!
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:42pm spacebrother:

HAHAHA! One of my buddies calls them "door slammers"
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:43pm Rich in Washington:

Totally!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:44pm melinda:

Hi everyone! First time tuning in, nice to hear Eloise Trio.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:45pm spacebrother:

Actually, my wife likes a lot of the music I play. For instance she's always singing "Legendary Chicken Fairy" to herself.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:45pm spacebrother:

Welcome, Melinda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:45pm Rich in Washington:

I made an ID spot for my KBOO show with my wife running into the room screaming about 'THAT TERRIBLE RACKET!'. and then slamming the door. She got into the character with lots of enthusiasm and hit it on the first take.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:45pm melinda:

Cactus Pryor was a big local personality when I was growing up in Austin. assuming it's the same one on the playlist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:45pm Rich in Washington:

Hi Melinda!
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:47pm spacebrother:

Yes, Melinda it's the same guy.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:47pm spacebrother:

Cool!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:47pm Rich in Washington:

my missus comes from a family of musical theater and church singing people, so most 'incorrect' music is sort of grating for her. We do like some of the same music, but the overlap is pretty small, yet negotiable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:47pm Rich in Washington:

That Cactus song was nuts! I'd love to know more about him.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:49pm spacebrother:

en.wikipedia.org...
Mon. 2/4/19 7:49pm captain mike in port Whitby:

Did this influence Yoko Ono and John Lennon d’ya think?
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:49pm spacebrother:

Most probably!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:50pm Rich in Washington:

speaking of records I had as a kid...
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:52pm spacebrother:

I WISH I'd this one. I would have turned out a better person.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:52pm Rich in Washington:

the music on this is kind of crazy. I hadn't noticed that before.
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 7:52pm spacebrother:

It was music directed by Shelley Manne!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:53pm Rich in Washington:

Uh, I did and I didn't! We were terrible to our records! Playing them at the wrong speed, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:53pm Rich in Washington:

Oh wow! That's crazy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:58pm Rich in Washington:

That's the one I remember being really peculiar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:59pm Rich in Washington:

Oh yes. Please do!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 2/4/19 7:59pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks for a fun show, spacebrother!
Avatar Mon. 2/4/19 8:00pm spacebrother:

Glad you liked it! I did.
