When I went to Disneyland Paris I went on its a small world, and the boat got stuck in the last room for an extra 10-15 minutes, ha ha.

Also there were women smoking in the ladies' room, which I sure didn't see in Florida!!

Ha, I see! The designers need to argue for a couple of years how they define what TWLVP is first - like Disney's imagineers did for Rivers of America. I saw a bunch of people having super detailed discussion on the internet about the renewal of Rivers of America. Looking at its sketch from architectural point of view, etc. And they're not even staffers, just fans. They must be people like your friend, Dean! I was overwhelmed!

Yeah, my buddy was seriously into the place, kept track of all the "secrets" such as the hidden Mickeys (which, come to think of it, would make a good band name).

I remember vividly the couple of times I got stuck in a stalled subway train going to a dance show. Not fun at all. And once I had to run around a student riot (last time I ever ran, something like 10 years ago). Always made it, but it was so close I got a seat way in the back

P-90 Many rides in Disneyland sure cultivated many of my dreams as a child too! And I think especially since I lived in a monocultural country, just to visually see that there are many different cultures and worlds out there was inspiring. Despite of the fact that they were not real, just fantasies.

Dean: I highly recommend the Dr. Suess Land at Universal's Worlds of Wonder Park in Orlando. That really IS like physically being inside a good acid trip. And the Green Eggs and Ham are genuinely well-made and delicious

Personally never done it, but I've had several friends through the years who would take acid and go to D-Land. I can't imagine. I think I'd have to just go hide in a corner somewhere.

The cool thing about the Teacups, they're one of the first rides they came up with unique to disneyland, is that kids can ride them when they're very little, but they're interactive: the kids can spin those wheels in the center and have some control over the speed and direction of the spinning cup they're getting dizzy in

I liked Frontierland, coonskin caps and cigar-store indians, beavers, bears, canoes. It was a vision of our national myth of the history of the colonization of the Americas. It was OK. But I didn't love it the way I loved Tomorrowland.

I've never been to any Disneyland park. The closest I got was when a friend was living near the French one. It was eerie seeing it while walking along fields in the early morning after a party. Also weird was taking an early bus to their train station and seeing workers going into the place. Didn't look like a happy one at that hour

Eventually the "Baroque Hoedown" guys did make an arrangement.
It's part of the reason they switched to a "bullshit" imitation, they had to send a check every month, for each of the parks. And you can't blame Old Walt, he had been gone for several years, it was some of his jerk successors who thought they should try to get away with taking the music from this obscure 1967 record and not pay royalties...
