OK, questions for Chrome Cranks.
You guys were always cited by other bands, but never broke through, sadly enough. Do you think your breakthrough is coming now? How do you feel about that?
Avatar 12:08pm

Oui oui Chris!

are there new bands you are excited about?
What kind of music would people be most surprised to hear you like?

what is the pivotal moment that got you into music as opposed to accounting, law, or hairdressing?

Do you have a weird hobby?

Was just going to say that, chris! Hitting my town 10/27, smallr venue this time.
Avatar 12:28pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- Yes chris. Condolences to Nick Cave family & loved ones on the tragic passing of his young son.

...Bad Seeds was like as smart & abstract as Magic Band same time as full-contact Live psycho performance as Black Flag. WOW. He got to being like one of the Best Lyric Guys Ever in Bad Seeds, & the band was one of those everybody in it leads their own bands - just reeking filthy w/ talent - every album a Classic even if they diminished later?
...Dunno Grinderman honestly - don't have a girlfriend who loves Cave better than me like I used to...
Avatar 12:29pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Crap! - I mean Birthday Party up top - derrr...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm
chris:

i love the rough, dirty, weird time signature Grinderman stuff, too...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm
Polyus:

I actually didn't start really liking Bad Seeds until Abbatoir Blues/Lyre Of Orpheus. I had coworkers who kind of wore me out on the old stuff, though I have come to appreciate it a lot more lately. Birthday Party burned brightly and then burned out, so they never had a chance to make a bad record.
Avatar 12:33pm
Cheri Pi:

I haven't gotten into Nick Cave yet... I guess I was busy or something.
Avatar 12:39pm
Cecile:

Birthday Party is crucial in my book.
Avatar 12:39pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

How it happened was: watching MTV 120 Minutes & seeing 'Mercy Seat' - tell my gf 'hey, this guy is kinda like Jim Morrison - writing great stuff & a great Rawk crooner, you should check this out' - & she's like - 'he's not Jim Morrison! I don't care' - & a little while later, she's obsessing on Cave (apparently, this happens to some women) - & I'm hearing all of it in maximum rotation...Moody croony Rawk singers appeal to me, & obviously he's among the more literate of Rawk Writers - but I was never sure what he was writing *about* so much; we are of course talking about other decades...
