@fleep: There isn't really a bad year for music, though some years (such as 1990) come up noticeably "thin" on good music.
Avatar 4:11pm
Cecile:

1985 was kind of a let down year in some ways. I dunno, I hated a lot of stuff in the 90s - I mostly listened to free jazz and GBV.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:12pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hey Parq!

@Cecile: Free jazz? Doesn't that contain a lot of...you know, guitar "noodlin"???
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:13pm

Icelandic? Whatever this is is good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm

it's only "noodlin" if you don't like it, Matt!

@fleep: Heh, a lot of those ended up on Nat Roe's Reverse A/C Chartsweep premium!

There's always something great coming out: The La's only album came out in '90, and I like The Church's Gold Afternoon Fix, but for the most part that year was quite "thin"!

"MBV", yes that was '90, and on the 4AD front there was His Name Is Alive and Cocteau Twins Heaven Or Las Vegas. I got at least one hand's worth of good releases!

The Tom Jones was on the "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" soundtrack, and there are indeed some digworthy cuts on that sweep. And then there are some that remind you why Thompson and his attorney kept "Sympathy for the Devil" on a constant loop while driving from LA to Vegas....
