Avatar    Mon. 4/21/14 3:04pm Whooda:

Congratulations DJ Jim Price, that's no small honor I'm sure. And DJ Station Manager Ken is not bought-off cheaply, so I know it must of cost you a bundle. :)

Is this a recording from the inside of a beekeeper's mask?
  Mon. 4/21/14 3:07pm Mark:

I'm digging it, whatever it is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 3:07pm Scott Williams:

(Switches channel) Hi everyone. A bit late, destination:OUT ran overtime. Anyway, what's happening here..... mmmm I see.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 4/21/14 3:27pm steve:

hey Scott and friends. i just got home from plundering Kim's Video on 1st Ave. apparently they're going out of business. :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 3:29pm Scott Williams:

Hey Steve, hope you scored well!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 3:31pm Bryant:

91.1 just came back up after being out for 30 minutes here in Sleepy Hollow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 3:33pm Scott Williams:

whoah, it was out for 30min, Bryant? thx for the headsup
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 3:35pm Bryant:

Yeah, it went out at the end of Jim Price and came back up right before I posted. On a related note, I'm now listening to the online stream and the over-the-air signal simultaneously, and they're out of sync in a way that's adding an entirely new rhythm to this track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 3:37pm Scott Williams:

Bryant, I highly advocate listening that way all the time
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 4/21/14 3:38pm steve:

heck yeah! i got a small pile of new LPs i already wanted at a pretty deep discount. particularly happy about the new Actress 3LP and a PAN title i never could have afforded otherwise.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 4/21/14 3:42pm steve:

do i hear an SK1 drum preset slowed way down?
Avatar    Mon. 4/21/14 3:43pm mariano:

@Steve: Kim's is going out of business? Ugh. I still haven't fully gotten over the W Village one being gone.

  Mon. 4/21/14 4:06pm Mark:

That Farm track was groovy.
  Mon. 4/21/14 4:08pm Oi:

Farm: That was really great Scott. A sound so immediately recognizable, yet I've never heard them before and apparently a first print of this rare album goes for $5-700.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 4:08pm Carmichael:

That Farm was wonderful. Never hoid of 'em ...
  Mon. 4/21/14 4:09pm ?:

Charmichael grew up in the same town as Krazy kat?
  Mon. 4/21/14 4:15pm Mark:

Seems to be a whole show of old bands I've never heard of, all of them quite good.

According to Triangle-Head's own website: "seminal, African-American, protopunk band Death". Interesting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 4/21/14 5:05pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Hi Scott + everybody! Please excuse my tardiness.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:05pm Scott Williams:

Hey Greg! We were talking about Death and Arsenio - what's on your mind?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:06pm Matt from Springfield:

Hi Scott and Scotians!
Tardy as well, but fortunately the TARDYS will take me back in time to the start of the show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:07pm Matt from Springfield:

@Scott: Nothing is sure in life, except for Death and Arsenio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 4/21/14 5:11pm Greg from Bloomfield:

I thought you said Death OF Arsenio. WHEW!
  Mon. 4/21/14 5:12pm Gandhi:

Turn yo 'woofers UP!!
WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF!...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:15pm Matt from Springfield:

Himbeereis! (raspberry ice cream) That Aloa wasn't the one I'm thinking of, but it reminded me of an 80s German video I didn't like when I was a teen. Based on search results I think that could be Grauzone's "Marmelade und Himbeereis"--have to check that out later, see if I like it now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:19pm northguineahills:

I think this is the third time I missed Charles Cohen in the last week, damnit!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:20pm Scott Williams:

this 2-CD set of C Cohen is a major treasure trove, ngh! seek it out
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:21pm Matt from Springfield:

@NGH: But you are getting close.

Run Charles run! NGH is closing in on you!

Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:27pm Matt from Springfield:

I've been wanting to see that! Good or bad or bits of both blended in a psychedelic fashion? :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:27pm northguineahills:

lol, Matt.

I had the pleasure of playing w/ Charles a decade ago. He drove through a blizzard from Philly just to make a gig that paid peanuts (actually cakes, beer, and a few dollars)
  Mon. 4/21/14 5:27pm chris:

Sorry if this has been addressed but I'm just tuning in. This bed music is the tits. WHAT IS IT>>>???
Avatar    Mon. 4/21/14 5:29pm SeanG:

Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:29pm northguineahills:

I second chris's inquiry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:30pm Matt from Springfield:

Crowdsourcing! Feed and spout, feed and spout--and thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:31pm Matt from Springfield:

@NGH: Hey, that's awesome! Glad to see dedicated and/or snack craving musicians playing out there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 4/21/14 5:35pm Bas NL:

Hi Scott! Listening while trying to work here.. the listening is winning. ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:36pm Carmichael:

Head is both dated and timeless. Quirky, rockin', odd and interesting. Both cool and kewl.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:37pm Scott Williams:

Hey Bas! @NGH, I envy you! as for the talkover bed: I don't remember the original source, but it's a loop I contributed to the WFMU "Running in Place" locked groove LP a few years back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:37pm northguineahills:

The funny thing about that gig, only one other NYC group showed up b/c of the blizzard, but Charles plowed through in his car on the turnpike from Philly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:38pm Carmichael:

You scared me, Scott. I thought it was Bobby McFerrin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 4/21/14 5:38pm Uncle Michael:

I really like this Jake Holmes album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:40pm Matt from Springfield:

It's hard to go wrong w/ Jake Holmes--this is great underappreciated psychedelia, and of course there's the Four Seasons "Genuine Imitation Life Gazette".
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:40pm Scott Williams:

Yeah, this and "The Above Ground Sound of JH" totally kill. "Be All That You Can Be" and all his other records, meh...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:40pm Risky:

Oh my, I'm floored... real laid out like.
Hey everyone! Delicious stuff.
  Mon. 4/21/14 5:41pm Santos L Halper:

Eep!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:41pm Scott Williams:

yeah, 4 Seasons covered him, and I think he produced 1 Sinatra record
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 4/21/14 5:42pm Uncle Michael:

I'll second the Eep!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 4/21/14 5:43pm Uncle Michael:

I'm a big fan of the Jake Holmes/Bob Gaudio stuff...Genuine Imitation Life Gazette...Watertown...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:45pm Matt from Springfield:

I've heard of Watertown! That's apparently Jake's Sinatra record. Add that to my Jake Holmes Program of Study..
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:45pm Carmichael:

Gaudio has an amazing catalog. I've never heard of Holmes until now (at least I think I haven't heard of him ...).
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 4/21/14 5:46pm Uncle Michael:

He's the guy Page stole Dazed & Confused from, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:47pm Matt from Springfield:

Wooooot!! Richard Thompson!
Great folk guitaring on this, I was about to guess the Incredible String Band!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:48pm Matt from Springfield:

@Carm: Jake Holmes is certainly worth taking a listen to--very narrative pop pieces reflecting the 60s era.

@UM: Without credit! I'm well aware, same thing with Bert Jansch's "Black Mountainside".
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:50pm Scott Williams:

Jake Holmes' "Dazed & confused" is 1000% creepier than Zepp's
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:51pm Carmichael:

I walk out to the copier, and RT has come and gone. Good folk taste, Scott!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 4/21/14 5:54pm Uncle Michael:

I agree Scott.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:54pm northguineahills:

Nice, Sandy Bull.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:55pm Carmichael:

He he ... I first read the Holmes song as "Levees Never Break". Thought it was a play on When the Levee Breaks. Sheez, time for a break.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:55pm Matt from Springfield:

Also agree Scott!
Though we had talked on one of these boards about Delaney & Bonnie's original "Superstar" that was played--and how Karen's version is much better/creepier, she makes it sound like the fan imagined the whole thing ("It's just the radioooo...")
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 4/21/14 5:56pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I just noticed that the main WFMU web page mentions the reason for the outage on 91.1 earlier this afternoon. Replacing some batteries, it appears.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:58pm Matt from Springfield:

Coooool "Memphis Tennessee" cover! Also pleased to hear this kind of rock off the Vanguard label.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 4/21/14 5:58pm Scott Williams:
