Hey Liz, does being sneezy result in a heavier bass sounding voice? otherwise how are doing?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22am
Liz Berg:

I'm not a big TV watcher, but I must admit I've been nerding out on the "Cosmos" special, which was wave-tastic last night.

How to improve Public TV: more Oldies fund-raising programs!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am
Liz Berg:

Ha ha, it's really funny you mention that, David C! Ever since the internet really took root, public radio has been doing well while public TV has been in decline. You just tapped in to one of my theories about why that might be happening!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am
Webhamster Henry:

Hi Liz! Public TV (and all public broadcasting) needs to remember its roots. It was set up to be funded by the government because there is programming that is important that cannot draw a commercial audience. Before Public broadcasting, networks used to have shows on "sustaining", sponsor less shows that they thought were worthwhile. There is, as you know, also a mandate for community service that is largely ignored or given lip service.

david c:

liz - you made my day! - great show as always - thanks

Speaking of nerdy tv, Silicone Valley on Hbo was kind of great. It's kind of Mike Judge's attempt at a live action Beavis

in re: Public Broadcasting: look at provision #9: www.law.cornell.edu...
(9) it is in the public interest for the Federal Government to ensure that all citizens of the United States have access to public telecommunications services through all appropriate available telecommunications distribution technologies;

My spin on this: 100% subsidy for internet streaming for all public broadcasting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:01am
Liz Berg:

That would be nice, Henry, but sadly I don't believe that would ever happen.
