Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:12pm Matt F:

I thought you were doing a singalong for a minute, the singer from Slant 6 sounds like you!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:14pm Matt F:

Also the rainstorm sound effects at the start of the Lemonheads one had me playing the "Raindrops by Dee Clark or Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath?" game
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:15pm Matt F:

They all shopped at the same sound effects store I guess.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:15pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Noon all! RR63, Anticipation is worse than actuality. I'm 8 into your next decade and it's been pretty good.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:15pm listener james from westwood:

it's on the same shelf as the wilhelm scream.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:17pm Amanda:

Matt -- I am glad you don't think Evan Dando sounds like me! Which is what I thought at first when I read the beginning of your comment.

Ah, I need to remember the Wilhelm scream for next Halloween! Aiiiiieeeaaghhh!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:17pm Carmichael:

And don't forget the Howard Dean power scream!!!!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:18pm KevinfromBayRidge:

listening to the Captain on FMU is the new millennium's version of Woody Allen's Crabs at Wo Hop!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:19pm pacific standard simon:

Creepier than Halloween -- the show where half the listeners are older than the DJ's parents.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:19pm Carmichael:

And hello to all, ALL of you kind listeners!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:21pm listener james from westwood:

this song came on fmu some months back when i was editing a massive, unending, somewhat depressing text on chromosomal disorders, incl. mongoloidism. a literal LMAO.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:23pm listener james from westwood:

Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:24pm pacific standard simon:

I haven't been to a public showing of Rocky Horror since '81, but there's one here on Halloween and I'm going.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:25pm listener james from westwood:

i caught one in cambridge, ma on halloween, and it was delightfully batshit.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:27pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- great film but a little men in fishnets goes along way for me...
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:28pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- got the 'SuperSessions' version of 'Season' on my CDR Halloween comp. for thriftstore job...
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:32pm Matt F:

Don't put the years.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:35pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...something flickered for a moment - then it vanished & was gone...
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:36pm pacific standard simon:

Oddly, Amanda, not saturated at all -- the shows I've been listening to have been doing the same as you, playing a token track or two. Fortunately, I can play Lou Reed in my head without any radio at all.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:41pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Myself, I'm much more familiar w/ the VUs than a good %age of solo Lou anyhow - & even what I know isn't exactly over-exposed...
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:43pm Brian in UK:

Hello Amanda and listeners.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:43pm Artie:

On Board!

Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:45pm Brian in UK:

Hello ndbob, glad you kept the moniker.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:46pm listener james from westwood:

sounds like terry jones there.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:46pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- this one actually had Terry Jones...
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:47pm Carmichael:

My iPod knew Lou had died, as it conjured up Rock-n-Roll Animal last night. White Light, White Heat!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:47pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

VideoNasty !
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:48pm Amanda:

@Carmichael, you are a rock n roll animal.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:49pm Brian in UK:

Ah poor Waldo Jeffers.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:50pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I've got WaldoJeffers on my Halloween comp. as well...
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:51pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...thaat schmmuck...
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:53pm Brian in UK:

It is John Cale's Welsh acccent that makes it a perfect day for Waldo.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:55pm Brian in UK:

Looks like John Allen did a belting show this morning , just solo Lou. Not so la lee.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:55pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...yes - & Lou wrote that in *High School* I've always heard...
- Orson Welle's 'War of the Worlds' - 75 years ago tonight.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:57pm pacific standard simon:

Terre T should END her show with this.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 12:58pm Brian in UK:

Surely Beathoven.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:04pm Rich in Washington:

Funny. I recently had the false memory that Bad Manners had appeared on The Young Ones. Somehow, my memory of the My Girl Lollipop video and my hazy recollection of YO episodes had morphed together.
Now I see how wrong I was.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:06pm Uncle Michael:

Been a very fun show Amanda.

Hi folks.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:07pm pacific standard simon:

Why do I always get the HUNGRY ones?
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:12pm Amanda:

Thank you kindly, UM!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:13pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Agh, how did I miss C64 Rocky Horror? P.S. Token Lou Reed loops coming up in a bit.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:13pm Matt F:

That Supercharger s/t LP is an overlooked great work of modern civilization.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:17pm Amanda:

Oooohhhh excited to hear those loops Kenzo.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:19pm Rich in Washington:

Loopy Lou.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:22pm Danne D:

Hi AmNazz :)
Hi All :)
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:24pm Rich in Washington:

I still have permanent scars from the Mattel Thingmaker we had as kids.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:24pm Danne D:

Ugh I feel like I've missed so much - Bad Manners? The Young Ones, Listener James name checking wilhelm scream (who I saw my friend's band open for last year). Weird REM covers :)
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:24pm Rich in Washington:

But I also have a healthy respect for hot things and a sense of caution, so there's that...
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:25pm Uncle Michael:

Wait, I missed Sheb Wooley?
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:26pm Danne D:

or rather originals as I learn stuff and learn that in fact REM was the cover version
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:27pm Danne D:

FMU always has a way of learnin' me that which I did not know I did not know
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:27pm Danne D:

(a LOT of us aren't as cool as you Amanda) :)
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:27pm Uncle Michael:

Wilhelm Scream = Sheb Wooley
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:28pm Danne D:

LOL nobody wants to be in Generation X - soon it's gonna just be us folks born in 1970
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:29pm Danne D:

(that's a longer rant that I will save for another time) :)
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:35pm Carmichael:

@Danne D: Dude, try being a baby boomer ...
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:37pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...50 on Sunday - consider myself borderline Boomer-Xer...
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:38pm Danne D:

@Carmichael what the generation that keeps tacking years on to the end of it to stay releveant. My generation allegedly has like 12 years to it now or something while the generation on either side is supposedly 25 years long. this is hog wash
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:39pm Danne D:

'61-'82 is really more the X-range
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:39pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...went to the same Party as the Boomers ('proper') - but everyone was gone & there was only trash left...
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:40pm Danne D:

again - longer rant and argument :) basically the idea is that my generation gets marginalized. I'll dig up the story I ranted about sometime. But I won't ruin Amanda's comment board anymore :)

Besides lunch is here :)

Thanks as always AmNazz :) take care all :)
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:40pm Uncle Michael:

I figure you're a boomer if you were born when Truman or Eisenhower was president.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:41pm Rich in Washington:

Lately, I find articles about Millennials written by 'Boomers to be really amusing.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:42pm Amanda:

Thank you, Danne, for injecting political commentary and bonhomie into any playlist.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:44pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- if take Boomer to = 'Baby Boom', the spike in births after WWII, I'm in by a few months practically being b. 3rdNov. '63. Otherwise - consider the 'Grunge' age group the Xers (Cobain b. early '67).
- See - I'm into Astrology too - & there Age Groups are demarcated by the Outer Planets that are slow & stay in Signs a long time...involved topic...
- A literal 'Generation' - what is that? Not the word people want it to be, perhaps...
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:45pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I loves you Lucindy.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:46pm Skirkie:

What do you call yourself if your birth year seems to be the "border" year between Generations X and Y?
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:46pm Amanda:

1/18/1978, late Capricorn, Sagittarius rising, moon Taurus (this is me, not Lucinda, btw)
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:47pm listener james from westwood:

  Wed. 10/30/13 1:48pm Woo:

Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:49pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- c'est moi :
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:49pm pacific standard simon:

I always get a cheap laugh when people use boomer technology to complain about boomers.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:50pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- the Jobs biography is a great portrait of a Boomer.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:51pm Amanda:

@Skirkie, I think there is starting to be a "Generation Jones"-type period that is like 1977-1983 or so.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:51pm Amanda:

Which doesn't have a name yet
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:52pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- born in the original 'Punk Years'...
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:54pm Doug Schulkind:

Con grats, Amanda!!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:55pm Rich in Washington:

This is a lovely rendition. I am verklempt... So long, Lou!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:56pm Doug Schulkind:

Amanda, Audio has switched back to the stream
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:57pm listener james from westwood:

dug the show, amanda! thanks!!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:57pm ndbob:

excellent show Amanda!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:58pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks for a wonderful show, Amanda! Congrats on goal-making!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:58pm Amanda:

Oh nuts. Well too bad! Thanks so much for listening, everyone!

I wanted to say, that last track was for Marcia Wallace, the voice of Mrs. Krabappel, who passed away last Friday after a long battle with cancer.

Love yiz, and happy Halloween!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 1:58pm Doug Schulkind:

CANNOT hear you, Amanda!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 2:00pm Amanda:

Doug -- I am not talking anymore, I stopped the stream.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 2:00pm Amanda:

Many thanks to Listener James from Westwood -- and to ALL of you who pledged to help the show reach its goal this month. <3
