Hey Julie. Nice night for some music, ain't it?

Here in D/FW, it's been nice and warm, and no t-storms, either, unlike last week's craziness. I was real grateful for the break, TBH. =)

So, how you doing, fellas? =)

- Floyd's 'Piper' was '67, if you want a Year
- recorded, in fact, in AbbeyRoad1 when Beatles were in 2 doing 'Pepper' - so I like to think of Pepper & Piper as siblings. 1st thing done in AbbeyRoad2 after Pepper? Zombies 'Odessey and Oracle'.

It was a single, might be a different year

wiki say 'Emily' '67 :
en.wikipedia.org...
- that was their 2nd single
- even 'Arnold Lane' - PinkFloyd's 1st was '67 :en.wikipedia.org...
- earlier in the year - closer to release of Beatles' StrawbFields' : en.wikipedia.org...
- altho' *that* was recorded '66...anyhow...

Devo released a Greatest Misses collection that was a companion release to their Greatest Hits collection. The covers of both collections featured a plane being targeted by some sort of defense system. On the "Greatest Hits" cover the plane is locked-on while the plane on the "Greatest Misses" cover is eluding the targeting system.
  Mon. 5/27/13 1:01am Jennifer P:

Thanks for the shout-out Julie. Love love love love your radio voice. Glad I got the chance to hear your show for the first time, but now it's my bedtime! Night night.

I saw Cranes in Seattle in 1997. They sounded good but there wasn't much happening onstage and they were poorly lit. I could have stayed home and listened to the records and had as good of a time.

Boyd Rice is the guy in the Spell project.

I made the same mistake reading loveslies; it's prob because I'm thinking of:

YAY ol-fashioned freeform Dark Night! :D

@G: The MBs have 80s hits for penance--in fact, who *doesn't*? :)
Nat Roe has sometimes thrown those into his mixes.

Silly that they aren't in
Avatar    Mon. 5/27/13 2:40am Matt from Springfield:

Good transition from ELO to Robyn! Besides being very influenced by Syd, there are also some parallels to early ELO in this one.
Avatar    Mon. 5/27/13 2:41am Matt from Springfield:

Now is this REALLY Miranda Sex Garden?? What a Bertold Brecht sound!
Avatar Mon. 5/27/13 2:43am G:
