I loved Little Kings quarts. Two was probably too many, though.

As a former frequent flier I can truly sympathize with our stuck friends. The travel industry can be deeply unpleasant, and long exposures like that make you age prematurely.
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 12:57am G:

On long flights I always have a book or two and papers etc. to pass time with. I overnighted once in Heathrow when flying standby to meet a friend in Berlin who needed an "emergency" visit. Overnighting in a huge airport's concourse is a weird experience the first time you do it.
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 1:01am Droll:

Traveling is a way of life through experience. The "weird" is superfluous.

We are all pilgrims on this orb.

I find air travel especially grueling, and can only afford it once a year thankfully. Just feels wrong, though I appreciate the convenience of getting to a faraway place fairly quickly.

But how sweet a trans-continental cruise would be, especially if these guys were playing in the lounge!
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 1:16am Droll:

I always wanted to try a freighter cruise: www.freightercruises.com
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 1:16am G:

True, but when they stop (which they will) with the no electronic devices idiotic BS, one can stream FMU from JFK to wherever overnight.
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 1:18am tracy:

no electronic devices? Hardly the case.
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 1:20am G:

not for considerable periods around takeoff and landing

pheew, glad I got to turn on the show in time for Tom Carter and Pat Murano. Chamber music for the black plague. quaint infected delirium in the air.

G, The edit from where the tape was eaten.
Funny thing is, if you saw the waveform for a typical pop song and this song, you probably couldn't tell them apart.
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 1:34am Wm.:

Not that time, but I've done those many x before! That was a "pregnant pause" between two mp3s- intentional.
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 1:36am Wm.:

The finer appreciation of Dried Up Corpse (and BSBC) is all about texture, and assault, of course.
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 1:38am Wm.:

Billy Preston cover, lol

Dried Up Corpse's clavinet-free version of Outta Space is awesome, I hear

They're under contract to do audio for the next remake of the EAS recording
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 1:58am Droll:

It's hard to visualize, but it involves knobs, switches, a circular saw through a wah pedal. And who know's what Tom's playing...

damn, missed murano/carter
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 2:15am William:

Per usual, the archive will post in the a.m. Mp3s t/c over the Summer; I am backed up with live sessions to post!
Avatar    Fri. 5/24/13 2:18am kim (germland):

great to hear that carter is back again
Avatar    Fri. 5/24/13 2:30am fred:

I should have got out of bed earlier: all I've heard today has been great
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 2:34am William:

Thanks, fred. ...The Castle will be taking a break for the next WFMU schedule, but upon my return, the last few weeks' shows are more reflective of where I'll be going, sound-wise. Perhaps more "sci-fi" than "horror" - a focus on deeply engaging instrumental music.
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 2:36am Droll:

Sorry to hear you're taking time off, but I'm looking forward to hearing the new spaces!
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 2:36am G:

When's the summer schedule out, anyone know?
Avatar    Fri. 5/24/13 2:37am fred:

I'll miss this show, but I'm happy to know you'll be back
Avatar    Fri. 5/24/13 2:38am kim (germland):

same here, fred
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 2:41am Wm.:

Not sure when the schedule will be announced, by my last show is in two weeks, June 6-7, with Psychic Limb, live. A great local grindcore band I've been trying to book for a while. ...The new show will definitely be more "Kosmische-spieler." I'm sorry to go as well, but I have family matters and a home business that need my attention—this show is a lot of work, prep-wise. ... Can't thank you all enough for tuning in and digging on it.
Avatar Fri. 5/24/13 2:55am Droll:

No A440, no MCoQ... There number of noticeable gaps on the schedule is growing.
