Good morning Thomas

Good morning!
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:10am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Hello!
Sun. 3/24/13 6:11am jay inthe woods:

Thank you for getting me awake.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:11am Thomas:

Welcome fred, Holly, Adam, and jay inthe woods
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:14am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Mr. Storck rawked Marathon Finale as both PunkFrontman & pretty bitchin' Drummer!
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:17am Thomas:

best marathon! thank you thank you to all who checked in these past weeks!
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:18am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Gonna try 'n' sleep thru this for ~2 more hours...possible??..
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:19am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

What if Rainer Werner Fassbinder had made "Cruising?" Would Die Radierer be a part of the soundtrack? I would hope so!
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:32am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

I'm lying down now, but I'll still be within aural reach, listening.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:35am neil from heidelberg:

great cover.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:36am fred:

I think that cover was on Scott Williams' premium a few years ago
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:36am Thomas:

an amazing song to begin with! but, oof, does she take it somewhere else
Sun. 3/24/13 6:37am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

It's difficult for my heart not to be taken by these new Nicos.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:37am fred von helsing:

nice!
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:37am Thomas:

yep - playing this one straight from Scott's "Cover Girls Vol. 2
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:37am neil from heidelberg:

cool.
Sun. 3/24/13 6:37am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

I'm fond of Annika as well.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:39am fred:

@Adam: she reminded me of US Girls for some reason
Sun. 3/24/13 6:41am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Thanks, Fred! I'll have to check US Girls out! Have heard of, but not yet heard.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:42am fred von helsing:

google delivers zero about jeri cain rossi. yes u.s. girls is excellent!
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:43am fred:

@Adam: There is plenty of her "US Girls on Kraak" in the archives. Her earlier stuff featured some cool covers with insane reverb, like singing in a concrete tunnel
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:45am fred von helsing:

concrete tunnel, that's hot :-P
Sun. 3/24/13 6:45am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

@Fred: that description certainly has me thinking I will easily fall for it then. Music that sounds like Atari's Pong looks tugs at me correctly.
Sun. 3/24/13 6:47am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Dear Annika, Jeri and the like, I'm available for concrete tunnels.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 6:47am kim (germland):

hey thomas and all
"attack on the land of milk and honey" is more or less
the radierer title
Sun. 3/24/13 6:48am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Thanks, Kim!
Sun. 3/24/13 6:49am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

I think "Laid Back in the Land of Milk and Honey" would have been more suitable, had it been featured in Fassbinder's never even considered version of Cruising.
Sun. 3/24/13 6:50am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

....Silk and Honey?
Sun. 3/24/13 6:59am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Thomas, I commend you, for getting up at who knows when after a Saturday night to start playing such memorable music at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings. That really takes some commitment and desire.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:00am fred von helsing:

yeah riilly sunday morning is the crucible
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:00am kim (germland):

wiki: schlaraffenland = Cockaigne
Sun. 3/24/13 7:01am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

@Kim: even •more• fitting. ;-)
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:05am fred:

@Kim: Interesting alternatives there, as "the land of milk of honey" often refers to Israel
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:05am fred von helsing:

well, it's got a beat, sorta
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:06am Thomas:

thanks, Adam - been up since 4PM yesterday, actually - marathon sleep patterns still working themselves out!
Sun. 3/24/13 7:08am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

@Thomas: in my opinion, the only suitable response to that bit of info. is "OOOF!"
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:09am Thomas:

waking up for a radio show is easy - waking up for work is harddd
Sun. 3/24/13 7:10am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Vampyrism is so sexy in theory. In practice it can be an altogether different proposition. Haha.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:11am fred:

Thomas, do you often do your show without sleeping at all?
Sun. 3/24/13 7:15am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

I recently read an interview with Harmony Korine in which he describes Gucci Mane's involvement in a simulated sex scene while asleep.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:15am Thomas:

not often - i usually sleep an hour or two. got me a small cup of coffee and a pile of records, no problem
Sun. 3/24/13 7:17am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Record shards pressed against the skin = great wake up tools.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:18am fred:

I'm impressed: I'm usually even worse off after sleeping two hours than without any sleep
Sun. 3/24/13 7:19am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

@fred: I'm with you. I'm useless on two hours of sleep.
Sun. 3/24/13 7:21am Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

....and with that reminder, I bid you all, "Adieu." For sleep. But, thank you for this great show, Thomas. I'll listen past the wake/sleep threshold.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:22am fred:

And the "small cup of coffee" isn't for me either: a sure way to tell I've been up all night is that I come to work after a stop at Starbucks. Only place I can get a pint of coffee. I've never been there except for these emergencies
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:27am e12:

Morning one and all
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:30am fred:

afternoon, hip! i want to hear "Hiding In My Car" every day
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:40am fred:

Nice noise
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:41am hip:

@fred days are not straight divided anymore
@Thomas, I'd like it too... and try to hide in my bike from time to time
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:48am fred von helsing:

  Sun. 3/24/13 7:51am Rob:

I think the "j" is a "yuh" not a "juh" in Finnish. But, mind you, I haven't finished my first coffee.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:51am fred von helsing:

mmmmm coffeee.....
  Sun. 3/24/13 7:52am Rob:

I know. I have been drinking green tea for three or four years but recently I find that I need coffee to get me going in the morning.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:52am fred von helsing:

  Sun. 3/24/13 7:53am Rob:

Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:56am fred:

@FVH: gray and wet, but no freezing in sight
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 7:59am Thomas:

thanks, everybody!
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:04am fred von helsing:

all surf monsters attack !
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:06am fred:

Thomas, does your film watching habits include Bergman?
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:08am Thomas:

fred, the main image above my playlists is from Hour of the Wolf!
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:12am fred von helsing:

it's the howl of the wolf radio hour, brought to you by Krell toothpaste
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:12am fred:

The director addressed us peons at work on Friday, and he concluded his presentation with snippets from a Bergman film. Something with a white clown. It worked: there were no questions, and even I couldn't pull off any disparaging comments for a bunch of minutes. I'm still puzzled by that clown though
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:13am fred von helsing:

wow, Bergman on PowerPoint is a band name but what is the musical style
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:15am fred:

@FVH: Harsh Noise Wall looks like a good fit
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:15am fred von helsing:

Yeah baby yeah !
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:18am fred von helsing:

Harsh Noise Wall, we haz it in storck relief
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:20am fred:

There's even a HNW project named Clougnioule, so there's precedent
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:24am fred:

I still wonder about that presentation: was he really using Bergman to make a point (I can't rule it out, I work in a weird place), or was he just stunning us into speechlessness (Bergman can do that)
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:25am fred von helsing:

Clougnioule, that's a great word. Tastes like fish.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:26am Keili:

Hi THomasss!
So I came downstairs this morning to feed my cat - where I found my Mom and Little Brother Johnny awake already and listening to your show.

Hi Fred and Adam and errybuddy hello!
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:27am fred von helsing:

He used Bergman to emphasize the mortality of his audience. If you die tomorrow, will your powerpoints endure forever ?
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:28am fred:

Hi Keili!
Johnny shows great taste at an early age. Watch out, he's going to take over your show
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:28am fred von helsing:

Keili is alive but has she had her coffee
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:28am Whosondephone:

Buying records first thing in the morning. :/ Thank you 21st century, thank you Tomas. Good Morning Everyone :)
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:30am Keili:

@FVH - no. I was hoping you guys had that covered but I GUESS NOT
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:30am fred:

@FVH: 80 minutes into a presentation, mortality sounds like a palatable option
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:31am fred von helsing:

gonna ask a complete stranger to show me her clougnioule. I expect broken teeth.
Avatar Sun. 3/24/13 8:32am fred von helsing:
