hey Lamin!

Fredericks:

Lamin are the record pops an intended part of the piece?
  7:07pm
Fredericks:

BTW, I really like it.
Avatar 7:10pm
Lamin:

Fredericks, yes indeed. Rhythmic clicks and pops, it's all part of the process.

Hey Steve!

the glowing one:

there's more than those pops actually up in the higher frequencies. it's the beat of the song actually.

hey Lamin, hey everyone! (see, Phil? i didn't go get ramen after dropping you off, i came right home to tune in to wfmu!)
  7:14pm
Fredericks:

Thanks for the info. Pan Sonic did a piece of just pops if I am recalling properly.

i love all things Raster Noton, but i wish Sakamoto would make more warm fuzzy analog jams like his old Thousand Knives album...

good evening, Lamin! hello to everyone!!!

steve:

for added fun I am playing tonight's show through a very nice new analog stereo filter.
  7:27pm
Fredericks:

Steve, so the filters are worth the investment?
Avatar 7:32pm
steve:

oh man, there's NOTHING like a good analog filter. it may be worth the investment depending on what you're doing. for me there's nothing better than pulling the treble in and out of some old disco records or the kind of music Lamin plays (which is what i usually listen to when not listening to fmu). omg Inner City, perfect

Fredericks:

I'm convinced. What are you using now?
Avatar 7:46pm
steve:

something that isn't commercially available... but the closest thing soundwise that one could find in a store or on ebay would probably be the Mutronics Mutator.
  7:49pm
OtherEli:

is Four Tet doing songs as KH now?
  8:00pm
Fredericks:

I was just checking a couple of sites. The Mutator was getting raves but they are no longer being produced.

Cecile:

oh, Lamin looking forward to another spectacular show on the archives.
