The Art Brut is from 2011...

Spit Stix of FEAR and now Nasalrod on at 1pm. Hand over any questions you might have!!

was just turned on to Art Brut the other day by EFD and I have adopted his song DC Comics and Chocolate Milkshakes as my theme song. :)

Hey all. Has anyone watched the recent Bones Brigade documentary? I was really blown away with the Rodney Mullen interviews.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm

@Tim just watched it yesterday. Had the same reaction. Rodney and Lance were the two most intriguing to me.

Hello Diane et al. Can you ask Spit for any tales of the infamous SNL appearance and or recollections of working with the RHCP please? Love your show. Thanks!

ch3. makes me feel 15 again. miserably 15.
Avatar 12:22pm

well, since about three people have mentioned the Fear appearance on SNL, we could ask about that.

No Beer really felt like an afterthought to me - did it do better or worse than the first album?

OH CRAP, Spit Stix is there!! Duh! I second Bad Ron's question.

What band does he think was really underrated from that period?

What was Fear's message? I got the sardonic humor - but was the humor out of anger or cynicism?

well the SNL appearance was one of the greatest tv moments ever, that's all.

A punker friend of mine says he went to an IHOP with FEAR following an 82-83 show in Madison Wisconsin. Mentioned something about the inevitable collision between the band and the dozen or so bottles of pancake syrup on the table.

benadryl is an OTC allergry medication. It either makes you hyper or drowsy depeding on how you react to anti histamines. I'm practially falling asleep writing this...

Benadryl generally makes people sleepy. Some even use it (with doctor support) as a sleep aid.

Well played Diane!

Yeh I was going to invoke Rugby as well. Might as well have him get into competitive wood-chipper diving. All things considered, footy isn't bad. He could end up a star at Arsenal and will set us all up for life. Yes, I get a percentage. Because please?
Avatar 1:04pm
ḑĉ ṗáŧ:

well that's the plan. I actually looked up the DC Academy last night to see when he can get in there. He's pretty talented at 6. When he get's an Arsenal contract, I'll look you up..

Wow. I did seven years in drum corps as a horn player. It was an alternative existence. Who knew?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm

FEAR was always funny, if not nice. They walked that edge between humor and, well, being assholes. Even Lee Ving's count off style had to be a riff on the increasing speed in punk and HC.

Did Fear really record a soundtrack for "Neighbors" with John Belushi?
  1:24pm

New Wave Theater..they played a song called Mangle
Avatar 1:27pm

They also played Fuck Christmas.
  1:27pm

Didn't John Belushi also want BLACK FLAG?
Avatar 1:29pm

Juan Carlo, they recorded some demos, I believe.
The music supervisor nearly had a heart attack, so they wre out.

It's depicted hilariously (unintentionally) by Bob Woodward in his Belushi book.
