Mike East:

A dude just called me a "God walking this earth" for giving him a bottle of water from my stash- and then told me that WFMU is the greatest station in the world (noting my t-shirt). I think he might be in the Mountain Goats. I'm suddenly feelin' very positive about this gray day.
  12:56pm
Ashok:

another excellent show. It makes coming to work hours early so much nicer.
  12:57pm
robyn:

  12:59pm

chris w:

April's gonna be awesome!
  1:10pm
duane:

Liz B: I thought the Italians handled that with threatening phone calls:)
  1:14pm
Cecile:

tony joe white is great, and kind of nuts.
  1:17pm
duane:

Cecille: Saw Tony Joe at SXSW in '10 and he tore that shit down. Just nasty, nasty, nasty, swampy country funk. Stud Spider laster for 15 mins. One of the best shows i've seen in ages!
  1:18pm
Cecile:

oh, dear god is the music from War of The Worlds - the musical?

Sounds awesome, duane.
  1:19pm
Cecile:

that riff is so ripped off from that. or vice versa.
  1:19pm
chris w:

This Sitar Beat album is off the hook. Love it! I think there's a Volume 2 now... is it as good as Volume 1?

r i s k y:

AHHHHHH DUANE!!!!!! Get em!!!
  1:28pm
Cecile:

two years later, Deep Purple got booed of the stage because they wouldn't let AC/DC be the final performer that night.
  1:29pm
Cecile:

I have some original Mushroom SKyhooks records. I lived down in OZ in the middle of the 70s for a year. Sunbury was a very notorious festival.
  1:30pm
Deep Purple:

That's not the only reason.
  1:31pm
duane:

Cecile: Yeah man. I've seen footage of that Sunbury fest from that era. Looked CRAZY!
DP: Don't be so hard on yourself!
  1:34pm
Cecile:

and now for the six hours of feedback.
  1:36pm
Caryn:

Have been quiet for the start of the show, but what has there been to say, other than "If you give us shows like this, how can we stay mad at you for being late? Unless your tardiness has cost us a half an hour of this music. Then we're pissed"? In other words: I've missed my weekly dose of Duane.
  1:38pm
northguineahills:

Well, I'm a Coloured Balls debutante... Heavy....!
  1:39pm
duane:

Thank you Caryn:) Good to know all is 4given
  1:40pm
chris w:

Floating back down to Earth now... gently gliding on the Spring breeze...
  1:41pm
Cecile:

yeah, their regular stuff was pretty rough and tough, but tight. But GOD is such a departure for them. It sends them from an excellent band off into the stratosphere of genius.
  1:42pm
duane:

Cecile: I concur. It's like Coltrane I swear
  1:43pm
dinatekno:

Anita O'Day...how perfect....Thank you!
  1:44pm
Cecile:

Lobby Loyde was kind of a big deal down there. You might not know much about music, but you knew Lobby was a big deal for some reason. LOL. Sort of like my NZ friends who know Chris Knox is one of their national treasures without knowing quite why.
  1:54pm
alex:

jazz mix! love this track.
  2:11pm
Marmalade Kitty:

what is that piece just before (unperfect love mix) perfect love? I know it but didn't know the name..

rontronik: Yeah! Are you gonna be at 'nica tomorrow? We might swing by!
  2:30pm
Marmalade Kitty:

aha, the string piece at the beginning perfect lovers mix: the most famous part of, Mahlers 5th symphony.. the sentimental adagietto.. hauntingly emotional.
  2:31pm
duane:

MK: Thanks! I should've known that:)
  2:33pm
Marmalade Kitty:
